  1. Oh, and just to chime in on the support issue? Let me tell you I am fortunate to have a husband & daughter cheering me on and both my older sisters. But when I told my parents, I should be embarrased to even tell anyone - but they said "Do you really think this is going to change anything?" And when I came home from the store, they had left but my mom had left me a homemade pecan pie on the counter. If ever a pie could say something ugly, it was that one. (I didn't eat it  )

Perhaps I'm not the one who needs counseling, right?

Seattle slew Welcome! I'm 41 so I understand how you feel. Better late than never. I had a child this time last year and my weight never left. Packed on more actually. Even if your parents may not have your back at least your hubby and kids do. My hubby is my biggest cheerleader. He even did the pre op with so I wouldn't be by myself. He caved yesterday. Lol. I don't blame him. My mom is very supportive and so is my aunt. But other than a few friends that's all that knows and I am fine with that. We are here to support each other.

  2. Newbie here from Chicago! I'm in the very early stages for WLS and in the process of "shopping" for a surgeon. I've never had any kind of surgery before so I'm trying to get as much info I can get as possible. Which hospital did you have surgery? Who was your surgeon? How was your experience from start to finish? Any pros/cons? Did your program have you do a supervised diet? How long was the process?

Any kind of info will help! Thanks!

Welcome! I don't know what area you are in. My Dr is Dr Cadillac at little company of Mary in Evergreen Park. He came highly recommended and the bariatric care is a center of excellence. Him Tony the consult were are awesome. So far my experience has been great. Will let you know any info you like after surgery on Monday.

  3. I failed miserably and had a hunk of birthday cake. I'm regretting it. Horrible headache and nausea. If dumping is worse than this, I definitely don't want to eat sweets.

gixxergirl dont feel bad just get back on it. This pre op is not easy. My sons bday was yesterday and it was so hard not to have cake. I did like some icing on my hands. I did hear about that dumping so I get how you feel. We are almost there!!!

  4. Pre-op diet has been rough. Work provided pizza for lunch today, but there I was with 3oz of lean ham & a cup of yogurt. Haven't done much else but I have a 3 day weekend to get ready. Hospital is only 10 minutes away, so no need to pack much.

Pre op has been rough but ive been hanging in there. I guess I do need to pack. I have to make plans for lil one on Monday depending on what time I have to be there.

  5. I am experiencing all of what you all are saying. I feel so bad to be so upset when my 1yr old cries. Hubby stays clear. Lol. But he is a sweetie. He is doing liquids with me so I wouldn't be alone. Today's is my 1yr birthday. I'm taking cupcakes to his daycare. That will be torture. I'm going armed with Water and a shake. I'm just thinking 4 more days!!!

  6. Hey Chi town! What's going on? How is everyone doing? I'm half thru my pre op and surgery is scheduled for Monday. Pre ops been rough but I'm following it... for the most part. Lol. Evening hours are the hardest. What's everyone's current stats? Where are you on this journey?
