  1. Well surgery went well and after 2 nights in the hospital I am home. Doctor said everything looked great, despite my little cheat, my liver looked perfect and I have been sent home with liquid pain meds to take every 2-4 hours as needed. It's amazing how my appetite is just non existent...

I know. Its crazy how I have to remind myself to eat. It may not always be likw this but its cool right now. Lol

  2. hey guys!

I also had surgery April 21st. the first day was wretched, but things are looking up. I'm able to drink, and today I had really runny potato Soup with unjury chicken flavored powder mixed in. It was really good.

I'm determined to take the healing process one day at a time and focus on getting my liquids first, then Proteins.

Hey Webhopper. Welcome! Yes im feeling pretty good as well. Still taking pain meds regularly. Im in love with my sugar free Popsicles. Lol. I can eat them all day. Still getting broth and Water in.

  3. Ur lucky they did the potassium thru ur Iv. I was also low after surgery & I had to drink this cup of it & let me tell u it was AWFUL!!! Then when they discharged me I was given a prescription for a capsule of potassium & take it daily for 2 weeks!

OMG I bet! I guess I will be happy with the IV. The only downfall was that it burned a bit going in.

  4. Surgery went well Monday -- i went home Tue night. I did have quite a lot of has pain, up high under my sternum and haven't felt very good.

The morphine caused a rash so now I'm on some other pain med -- I can tolerate Water and beef broth, I guess I'll try s//free Popsicles. Kinda feel like the flu.

Hey seattleslew. I know how you feel. I have that same pain today which I didnt hace yesterday. Im hoping it's because I slept thru a dose of meds last night. Just finished taking some meds. They took me off morphine on Monday. Whatever they been giving last longer than morphine it just takes a lil longer to kuck in. Should be going home today

  8. I also have BCBS IL! Are they strict about where you have surgery? I've gone to North Shore so far and have an appt at UChicago and thinking about checking out U of IL program. I may check out Little Company since a lot of people seem to like the place but I'm just concerned about the distance (I live in Lakeview) and pain after surgery!

I have BCBSIL PPO. You are fine as long as they are a PPO hospital and doctor. Most hospital and doctors are
