  1. CONGRATS! CONGRATS! CONGRATS! YOU ARE AWESOME!!! YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION TOO
  2. I personally wouldn't say anything to anyone that has a weight issue that they have a weight issue unless they approached me first. I just had someone approach me the other day about my surgery and is interested in getting lap band or WLS of some sort. I explained what I have experienced and explained we all are different and our doctors are all different as well so that would be the only time I would say anything, if someone came up to me about it. I so know that folks looked/look at me being overweight (not as bad now-but still have a way to go), but I know it hurt when folks would say things behind my back or looked at me wrong. so I have to agree with the folks on here...leave it up to them to make their decisions on their own. you might just be an example to them and they might approach you!!!
  3. I am only a few months out, but this week I am going back to a 5 day pouch test before my next fill on the 17th...I know I am way off track and need to get myself regulated again. so maybe trying to start all over again-get out those papers or get new ones about those first few weeks and start again. we will be doing it together...we can do this I just know we can!
  4. indeed continue onward RSwann...things will work out for the best if you put those scales away...was getting myself totally crazy somedays...so I haven't weighed and won't until next week when I get my next fill. so will keep you in my thoughts dearheart...you are doing just fine!
  5. You are soooooooooooooooo wise gowalking, thanks soooooooooooooooooooo much for your sound advice to those novice and those of us alittle farther out too!!!
  6. mochic I am so glad they got you taken care of...my port is in my chest...and it would be easy to tell if its flipped, but apparently my doctor sews it into place...that is why it was so uncomfortable and is at times now that is where I have lost most of my weight. I am glad u are now on ur way...keep me informed...love to hear about your journey.
  7. apryl1957 I am wishing you the best and am trying to reassure you that you will be fine...I am about 5 months out and haven't had any trouble with hair loss, skin conditions, spasms, headaches, bad breath or any other problems. You will be just fine sweetie...just know we are here to help you through the rough times. I'm gonna do a 5 day pouch test this week too, to prepare for my next fill on the 17th. I will be keeping you in my thoughts as well on the 27th!!! btw 1957 ur birth yr? mine is June 1957 if that is what it means...LOLRH! Hang in there girl you are going to do just fine!
  8. Way to go on your personal 5k Catfish, sorry you weren't feeling well...but glad u are feeling alot better now to run that 5k. You all are my Hero's...I know I will always have limitations due to leg problems...but it is nice to read about those who can. Hooray to yall!!!

  10. I so know this post is way old...but I am going to do this 5 day pouch test...need it badly
  11. I have a few days off of work this week...I think I am going to try to do this liquid fast or whatever you call it...so know I am so off program! thanks for the input B-52 and TMF...needed a kick in the butt for sure!!!
  12. naenaern777 Congrats on your time, and for that you endured to make this 1st 5k so eventful and almost harmful to your health sweet one!!! hope your breathing is okay...no idea they did that with flour but no where will I ever be doing a 5k so have no idea what they do at them. but glad you got through it and the time you did it in to me was amazing with all the obstacles you were faced with....CONGRATS! CONGRATS! CONGRATS!
  13. so proud of you naenaern777 and readysetgo...hope your races go well!!!
  14. Not sure why but feel so hyped this morning after the pool...lots of resistance this morning for some reason and felt really good...extra reps on my exercises again this week and did my mile and just feel awesome. Hope u all have a wonderful day!!!
  15. Thanks Everyone for my birthday wishes, that was very nice of you all!!! LOL TMF about ur shorts....I just don't want to be spending money on clothes that won't fit me too long-so hopefully I can fix these for awhile (sewing)...so I am trying really hard to stay on track with my weight loss as well as my pocket book...I don't like pockets so I don't/won't have that problem (them falling down)...lol!!! Gonna maybe take a pic to show how much 44 less lbs looks like on me-gowalking!!! I'm just glad that I have my head back on right...this is after all a lifetime journey, not something that will happen over night. so it's coming off slower than other folks. Thanks everyone yall are the bestest!!!
  16. enjoythetime-you do look awesome and like you said TMF and Catfish are two of the guys I count on to keep me straight. you have done wonderful and although I can't seem to get my positive on like you have I am plugging along. Congrats on your success!!! I can only dream of losing 142 lbs in a year...but I am getting there...keep me motivated okay-by keeping me positive, so know some of your responses to me have helped so much!!! thanks!!! You're so Awesome!!! I wouldn't say Fiona or Shrek...because of you're being only 5'1" LOL!!!
  17. congrats jamieteeter you are awesome!!!
  18. I was on the sugar busters diet and lost 10 lbs
  19. This probably sounds really weird, but I ordered new pants (2 sizes down) because of all of mine are really big but have elastic in the waist....so I kept wearing them...but these are too big too!!! but the weird part of it is I just don't see me any smaller. I am changing my options starting today...gonna stop eating any form of junk foods-which I have to say I do have every now and then to be honest. so I am gonna try really hard and gonna start with Breakfast...Protein first and then veggies and fruits. its too easy to fall off the wagon. so here I go again...need and want to start losing more weight a month besides 4 lbs. Yesterday was my bday and I have decided that when the next one comes up I will be down to where I want to be!!! so hope u all have an awesome day...just got back from the pool-heading out to work-packing a shake and fruit for this morning...SO HAVE A GREAT BAND DAY FOLKS!!!
  20. well I sure can see it...YOU ARE DOING AWESOME CONGRATS!!!

  22. Bandista thanks for your response...made me feel good
  23. CowGirlJane...LOLRH
  24. B52 you sound very intelligent and know your band. there are however some of us that enjoy reading some of these messages and find solace in some of those responses. you have had your band for years and have experience under your belt so to say...but there are some of us that are new to this and find some of the answers helpful. I sure hope you are not saying that reading these posts are futile. that would be sad to know that we are wasting our time. I hear what you are saying, but I wonder if you realize that not all people that get the lap band have providers that give them educational materials or have conversations with them on the do's and don't's of lap band world. I so know that we are all different and our experiences and weight loss/gains will all be different, but it is just helpful especially to me that there is a place I can turn too when I need answers/suggestions. Some folks on here have providers that are less then forthcoming with answers...I suppose they could go to another one, but some don't have that option either. Because I don't know you like you mentioned here...I am not sure if you are being critical of us that choose to use this website for some answers or if you merely are stating your case. I find it confusing though...but so understand that you truly have been there done that and I appreciate that!!! thanks for you very knowledgeable post.
