  1. Does anyone know that system of losing so much weight equals another smaller size. I have noticed my tops are smaller...but I fear trying on a pair of pants without an elastic waist. I am still wearing my big size pants, although they are so big in the butt and legs...but have no idea what size to try on and heaven forbid I get anything without elastic!!! Will that ever go away. I so understand Lisacaron your dislike of shopping. I can't find things that look good yet and am tired that I haven't lost enough compared to others. I have been told to stop thinking like that...I guess I just want this weight off...have to slow down I guess and take what happens as it happens. So Lisacaron I wish you well dear one...hang in there...loved your honesty.
  2. Well it is past the 18th and was wondering how you are doing, alittlenervous?
  3. YEAH-CONGRATS!!!
  4. I have stuck to most of the rules, but to be honest have broken a few as well. I have such a bad problem with eating slowly and have gotten stuck and sometimes can get past it other times I can't and it comes back up. I tried one of those mini cans of Pepsi Max, let it set for along while and put it over ice...didn't have a problem, but worry that it will mess up the band...so haven't tried another one. I'm a bit of scaredy cat when it comes to break some rules, because although I have had 2 cc's fill...I still have times I know I am eating way too much...but I can it doesnt bother me...makes me angry with myself. Then I have days when I think I am chewing really good and only eat alittle amount of food and it gets stuck. I never drink with my meals and when I get stuck it feels awful to try to sip even water, that is when I usually get sick. I know I am trying to abide by the rules...eating healthier, drinking only 1/2 hr before and 1/2 to 1 hour after. But I think my problem is getting to that point where I can slow down and get that sensation that I dont need anymore. So don't know how to handle things yet (post op 9 weeks Thursday-3/27/14). Thanks for just listening folks...makes me feel better...knowing you are out there and having issues too.
  5. Carol Annie...congrats on your decision to have surgery. My day of surgery went really well no herding feelings at all. As for questions...maybe just think of a few things about after surgery. As for the surgery these seminars are really to the point, but know there are alot of us here waiting to help you through your ups and downs. You take care of yourself...and will be waiting to hear from you after your surgery...best wishes...prayers!!!
  6. Shea Shea you are the bigger person in this conflict, I understand in a salon it would be hard to stay away from all the drama, but try not to let it bother you and come to work and do your job and then go home. She is being such a you know what...she isn't worth having as a friend. Friends are there through thick or thin!!! Remember you are the one on this journey don't let her or anyone sabatoge your's. I will keep you in my prayers sweetie!!!
  7. I am signing in a lot late, just found all of you on here. I was banded on 1/16/14 and have had my first fill 2 cc's. Can anyone tell me if you had around that amount of first fill, that you feel any restrictions. I don't seem to be feeling any restrictions and am worried about that. My doctors office said I needed to increase my protein intake which I did, but I feel I am able to eat way more than I should be able too. Worried...any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  8. Well I am 8 weeks post op and have had my first fill, can say that there are a lot of us that are newbie's and those veterans on here that will be happy to help you with any questions you might have. Congrats on your decision and please know each day gets better, but the best advice I have seen on here is that you need to "Step away from your scales" for right now. As you have been told the first 6 weeks are to get you healed. You will do just fine!!! Take care and see you along the way on your journey (here)!!! Hope to talk with you soon if you have any needs!!!
  9. my port is in my left chest area and I am 8 weeks out and still feel discomfort at times...especially if I sleep on my left side it starts to hurt more...but I can feel it sometimes and sometimes I can't-just plain weird for sure.
  10. I feel this way right now only at 8 weeks post op with only 2 cc's in...I feel I eat way too much and have stayed at a 29 lbs loss now for over a week...I have an appt next week and hoping to talk about this with my doctor...in the mean time just trying to force myself to eat less food. UGH hate feeling like this.
  11. I'm a novice at this band...only have had mine for a little over 8 weeks...so I get concerned when I read stories like these...but feel I am already there...I had my first fill of 2 cc's and I feel I can eat more than I should be able to eat. At first I would get my food stuck and that was very painful, due to eating to fast and not chewing enough. I learned to slow down a bit, but fear I still eat too fast...but I am able to eat things that folks have told me I shouldn't be able to eat? Is there something wrong? My doctor's staff told me I needed to increase my protein-which I have...but I can eat alot more than I think I should be able too. Last night I ate some Wendy's chili and although it wasn't painful heartburn I felt alittle discomfort (nothing that kept me awake or anything)...so I was wondering if any of you long timers could let me know if this is something I need to report to the doctor or not? Thanks!!!
  12. You Go MissLB that was great!!!

thanks Terry1118...really weird feeling not quite heartburn but alittle uncomfortable...was trying to figure if it was dumping...still learning all of these new things that can happen...just scared of slippage.
  14. Kelly I am praying for you dearheart!!!
  15. Nettyinlacey...congrats on your decision and many thanks to your mom for being there to help you out. I made my decision back in November 2013 to have my lap band, however, waited for after the holidays to have it done, so I was banded on 1/16/14 and I feel pretty good. It is a new chapter in my life and I have many chapters to go I know...so I just wanted you to know we are here for you...so ask am many questions that you need answers or advice about...the folks on here are great...they've answered many questions I have had. We are on the same journey as you are the journey of Health and Well being!!! Take care!!!
  16. Congrats on your 1 year bandiversary...that is GREAT!!!

  19. my thoughts are with you today Heartmyself!!!
  20. I had to have a hernia repaired along with my lap-band, I have to say I did take my meds, had nausea and was fine with what was happening to me. So I think you need to share your fears with your doctor or their medical staff. It is best to take them and not be in pain than to not take them and be in pain. Discomfort is different for each person and I can't take your fears away, but I think you will be just fine!!! Hang in there and I will keep you in my thoughts Nat and congrats on your 15 lbs...I lost that too before my surgery.
  21. beldary...what type of surgery have you chosen. I have had the lap-band and am 8 weeks post op but if I can be of any help I will be happy to be here you for you!!!
  22. Well I haven't lost enough to get rid of alot of things yet (except for winter stuff now), but have noticed that some of the things I held onto from my past are fitting better still a bit tight, but just move them aside for the next few pounds that come off...so I think I might have a give away weekend this weekend of the winter stuff...knowing that by next year everything will be way too big!!! So at least I am thinking smaller...LOLRH!!! Loved alot of these posts they made me laugh and also made me sad and because somethings I will need to give away I never wore, but they will all be going to the Goodwill. Thanks for the inspiration everyone!!!
  23. LOLRH...some have noticed that I've lost weight...and I don't mind talking to folks that are sincere...but those that are just being nosey bother me lots!!! I just ignore them and will now tell them about my puppy diet...LOLRH...sorry I love my puppy and would never eat him for sure...but it was funny!!!
  24. It is normal Monty Cap!!! Congrats on being a bander!!!
  25. well apparently I am not far enough out when it comes to shoes getting smaller...as for shopping for clothes doing very little of that either...I want to get to a certain weight before I start shopping, but am looking forward to maybe losing a shoe size that would be great too!!! This was a fun topic...enjoyed!!! Thanks for the smilies.
