Bluepoint Surgical Group
Interesting, I was scheduled to go in this Friday for my six month check-in with Dr. Halmi. I got a call to reschedule yesterday, that Halmi is only working out of Woodbridge and a Centreville location. Make's me curious if its all related, shake-up at Bluepoint.

Swimming...okay?!
I was told to wait 4-5 weeks, until the incisions were healed.

Bluepoint Surgical Group
Hit the one month mark over the weekend, still working on the mushy diet for another two weeks. It's interesting to see how conservative BluePoint is compared to some of the other surgeon's menus. I can't imagine eating soft foods only 3 days out from surgery. Thankful they have us take it nice and slow, the complications that I see people posting are scary. Anyone planning to attend the Fair Oaks support group on the 21st?

June sleevers, check-in!
I love how much money I'm not spending eating out and at the grocery store! A $1 can of refried Beans lasts me four meals.

Hi Everyone, I'm two weeks out from surgery, had my sleeve done at Fair Oaks Inova with Dr. Halmi. Everything went textbook with the surgery, I was able to go home the next day. Down 24 lbs. as of my check-in this week at Blue Point and starting the mushy foods next week. I haven't had issues with Water or getting my liquids in, but I am so ready to be done with the Bariatric Advantage shakes. I only made myself sick once by eating too fast. Can already see a difference in the mirror and excited to get back to a normal routine. All the pre-op hoops are worth it!

Hi Everyone, I'm having surgery tomorrow morning with Dr. Halmi, super excited and nervous!! It's helpful to see how those are doing a couple weeks/months out, I'm sure I'll have the same concerns. Tonight I'm going to take my measurements and pre-surgery photos.

Anyone paleo? Symptoms clearing since vsg
I have KP as well, all the Dr's said it would clear up as I got older. Not so much. I haven't tried Paleo but will be curious to see other people's experience. I've seen a lot of paleo meal plans on Pinterest that seem doable. I have been using oil pulling recently and it seems to help with redness, doesn't clear it completely. I use Trader Joe's coconut oil, 20 minutes a day.

Bluepoint Surgical Group
I checked out the Fair Oaks support group last night. They had two plastic surgeons there talking about options after you reach goal weight. It was pretty informative and they had a bunch of before/after pictures that were motivating. I also won a weight loss surgery cook book, they gave away three with the door raffle. There were close to 50 people in attendance. The plastic surgeons are only there once a year, so looking forward to seeing a non-presentation support group meeting. My insurance paperwork for the sleeve should get submitted next week.

Bluepoint Surgical Group
I'm playing the waiting game, hoping they'll submit to my insurance by the end of the month. No talk of a surgery date and no appointments scheduled. Trying to be patient, really wanted to have the surgery before summer. Congrats Jennifer2575! Hope you are feeling better each day.

They haven't mentioned a date, and when I was there this week they didn't have me setup a future appt. I have my EGD on Monday and one more nutrition class on April 8th. I figure I'll start calling to check on the submission to insurance next week. I'm hoping May is reasonable to get scheduled.

I'm still in the pre-op phase, planning to have the sleeve procedure with Dr. Halmi. Hope to have the surgery by May.

I have NO idea how to dress my body....
I plan to use gwynnie bee after my surgery, sizes range from 10-3x. It's netflix for plus size clothes and you don't have to worry about cleaning them, just mail them back. I've been using it already for almost a year, worth the monthly cost and keeps me from shopping. http://closet.gwynniebee.com/
