    Hi
It's now 19months post gastric sleeve and I have now stopped losing weight and put on 2kgs I'm worried ?? Is this normal what should I do
I can eat abit better then before I'm scared I stretching my stomach back to before and gaining all my weight back
    Pls help
Ps I'm started to pick on junk food
You can eat junk food if you want to or you could say "No, its not healthy, that's why I am taking this journey. It's for life and I don't want to screw it up". Think about what you can do to fill the void so you don't eat - walk? knit? read? take a bath? sew? Whatever works for you. Just say to yourself "Are the consequences of me eating this really worth it?" If the answer is Yes, then eat it. If the answer is No, then don't eat it.

My surgery was at 9:30 am on May 20th. I just got home from the hospital. I had terrible nausea all day Tuesday and most of Wednesday. Including a lot of dry heaving, which kills. I've been dealing a bit with gas pains but the majoriy of my pain is in my upper chest from the hernia repair. My incision sites are sore, but completely manageable. I am really struggling to get in my fluids. I am allowed only plain Water, broth, and sugar free Jello. I will be able to add milk and pure Protein on the 27th. Right now I can't imagine getting either of those down. I am happy to be on the other side of this thing and am praying to heal quickly.

Thanks for posting this article - I love it! I'm pre op for sleeve (but post op for band, but never got "thin" with the band). The first item on her list - power - is something I think about a lot, and something I worry will lead me to self sabotage if I don't stay conscious of it.
I experienced abuse as a child and I yearned to grow up and get big enough so that I could not be physically dominated and hurt. I know I don't need size, especially fat, to protect me anymore, but psychologically I do think that my size gives me a sense of invulnerability.
Like the woman who wrote the article I plan to focus on building strength and muscle as a way to combat this issue. I should think about self defense classes too. Not so much that I'll need it, but I think it will help me feel safe and comfortable at a smaller size.
I also love her perspective overall - very positive. I think it's important for us to love our fat selves, even while striving to become thinner.

wendatt92912 got a reaction from babish in 3 day Pre-op diet
I am in the middle of my two week preop liquid diet. My surgeon and his nurse said that the diet had two purposes. The first being shrinking the liver and making it more pliable to reduce possible complication during surgery. The second was mental. He said the reason he did the diet for two weeks for all patient was to get them in the proper head space as they are going to have to be without solid food several weeks following surgery. I am currently using Lean whey Protein isolate from Complete Nutrition - chocolate Peanute Butter. It is quite tasty. They also have a Cookies and cream one that is tasty too. It has 24g protein and only 3g carbs and 1g fat. ) I hope this helps. Good luck with your surgery!!

Ok.....only day 2 of pre-op diet. Supposed to drink 5-6 Protein shakes and then only sugar free popsicles, Jello, pudding, Water and sugar free drinks. I am already having trouble drinking that many shakes! Good thing I won't have to drink that many post op (hoping that premiere Protein Shakes with 30 grams Protein will do the trick...will only need to drink 2 of them to get in protein!)
Other than feeling like I want to chew my arm off it's going great!! Keep going May 20th sleevers WE CAN DO THIS!!!

I agree with you Ozikiwi. There is a lot of difference in all of the pre-op diets. I am on a 2 week liquid diet. I can have skim milk, sugar free Jello, pudding or natural applesauce. I can also have oatmeal (no sugar, of course) or cream of wheat, sugar free popsicles, pure Protein supplement or pre-made Protein Shakes and one Protein Bar a day (minimum of 10g of protein and under 200 calories.) It has been really rough. Especially the first 3-4 days. Feeling a bit better today. I will go to Clear Liquids on the 19th and surgery on the 20th. Its getting close enough its starting to feel real. I know it should have awhile ago, but I'm pretty good with denial. That's one of the reasons I am in this situation. Lol!
