    Any May Sleevers?

Seraya I'm thinking of you! Good luck to all the May 3 sleevers!! I'm still having some pain and gas pains have started, although they are not unbearable. I was discharged and came home, but I miss the hospital bed! Only because it props you up and it is much harder to get out of my normal bed.

    Any May Sleevers?

Hi everyone! I made it to the loser's bench!!! All went well. I did wake up in lots of pain. Nurse gave me morphine and I started feeling better. I did have some nausea but it cleared. No gas pain yet (I'm knocking on wood it stays that way!). Good luck to all the May 2nd sleevers!

    Any May Sleevers?

I'm doing a lot of the same things. I've been to the store twice and each time I forget something. So I have one more trip today and then its cleaning the house. I am in S FL and am currently at the beach -- my holy place. I had my first screw up last night with my lean protein. I was at a restaurant starving for my one meal of the day and ordered pork that was fried. I didn't realize it until I was eating. Not the end of the world, but disappointed that I messed up 2 days before surgery. Good for you on taking Monday afternoon off! I'll check in as soon as I am up to it. Good luck on Tuesday!!

    Any May Sleevers?

I just got off the phone with the Hospital's nurse in preparation for Monday's surgery. I'm scheduled for 11 am. It just got real!!!! I'm soooo excited [emoji4]!

    Any May Sleevers?

I'm in the same boat - surgery wise and work wise. Although I don't live in NYC, but my commute is over an hour both ways in crappy traffic. I can't wait for May 1 and I am super excited about having some time off from work too. I go back and forth on whether I should take the full 3 weeks or ask to work from home the third week.

    Bending over Post-op

How long after VSG were you able to bend over and pick something off the floor without pain? I have a special needs dog and debating sending her to the dog sitter. I don't want to send her bc then I will be worried about her & its an extra expense. But, I also don't want to add the burden on my caregiver. Thanks!

    Bending over Post-op

She weighs 8 pounds so I'm fine picking her up after the initial pain wears off.

    How much time?

My surgeon recommends taking 6 weeks so your body can heal, but a min of 2 weeks for a desk job.

    Any May Sleevers?

You are doing great! I've dropped 6.6 lbs in 5 days. My stomach has already shrunk because I am barely hungry now & am not finishing all my food. I'm ready for May 1 to get here!

    Pre-Op Clearances

My surgeon requires a cardiologist & pulmonologist medical clearance before surgery. I have both appts set in the next week and a half. I don't know what to expect. Anyone done these? Thanks.

    Pre-Op Clearances

Things have gotten better for me. I really struggled the first two days. I've noticed my stomach has shrunk. I ate my protein at lunch and had to make myself drink the protein shake at dinner because I was still satisfied from lunch (I did not stuff myself at lunch either). Tomorrow will be a test for me -- its my daughters bday party. How is it going for you?

    Pre-Op Clearances

Happy Birthday!!! It is so exciting to feel like things are really happening. I did my Pulmonologist appt yesterday and tomorrow is the Cardiologist & 2 hr course w/ surgeons office. After tomorrow, I just have to make sure they fax their reports to my PCP and she then has to prepare the final medical clearance for my surgeon by Thursday, April 27th. That part is stressing me out! Sorry about the bowel prep, I've read some people have had to leave work. My surgeon does not require it. Here's to the new us!

    Any May Sleevers?

Yes, today was better than Monday and Tuesday. I'm ok until about 2 pm and then it gets harder. I can only eat at the time I choose to have my meal. So I can eat green veggies and a green salad with my lean protein either for lunch or dinner. No snacking in between. I'm going to ask if I can have some broth because that would break up the sweetness from shakes and it would be nice to taste something savory during the day. 11 more days!

    Any May Sleevers?

I started the liquid diet yesterday... I remember youtubers saying it wasn't too bad. WHAT?!? I'm super hungry most of the day & hunger headache settling in. Deep breathes & eye on prize...12 more days to surgery!

Lol! Last weekend for me before I start the pre-op diet. I'm trying to resist any food funerals!

I had the breathing test too. I am waiting on the results. I hope I am negative or they will have to push off my surgery.

    Pre-Op Clearances

I decided to just quote webmd lol " to help diagnose certain conditions affecting the digestive tract . These conditions can include infection (such as from parasites, viruses, or bacteria), poor nutrient absorption, or cancer."

    Any May Sleevers?

I like Premier Protein. I tried Organic Valley and didn't like it. Also, Whole Foods has an organic line which is good, but both of these have too much sugar. I'm drinking them until Monday when I start the pre-op diet. I am planning on making my own this weekend.
