1. I would imagine that if you show any loss at all it proves you are committed to this and they should approve you for surgery on your date. Ask your doctor. I'm sure they've run into it before. They know what to expect from the insurance companies.
2. Omg I am so excited! Our pool took a complete dump last summer. The liner tore and the pump is not functioning great. We put together the money to have a professional come out and install a new liner we bought a new pump and filter system and I will have a pool ready in a few days Yayyyy! Great exercise and I always feel thinner when I tan. I even bought a suit a little smaller than I should've so I can shrink into it!
3. Thank you Denise. My surgery will be July 25th. My Dr will not have me on a pre op diet as my bmi is at 40 and he says I'm not big enough to have to do a pre op diet. But I am 210lbs today. I can go as low as 205lbs and still be approved for surgery. I have a personal goal of wanting to be at a minimum of 199 lbs on surgery day. I really appreciate the info on what is allowed during the pre op. After my last insurance required weigh in on the 8th I won't have to worry about losing any weight but I'll only have 2 wks to lose 5-10 lbs. If I lose anything it will be nice but I hope I make goal. How much did you lose pre op or have you lost pre op so far?
4. Does the doctor write a prescription for the bariatric vitamins or should I order some before surgery?
5. I'll be having my sleeve surgery on July 25th. My next and last appointment/weigh in is on the 8th of July. I'm currently 210lbs. I am trying to get to 205 by the 8 th and then 199 by the 25th. I hope. I've been told not to lose weight or drop below 205lbs or my bmi will be too low. But after that last weigh in I should be OK to drop a little below. It's just a personal mini goal I have for me. I'm 5ft 4. I weighed in at 214 at my last appointment a few weeks ago. I tend to go up and down a lot. Everyone is telling me to eat what I want now before it's too late and I can't. To me is just more to lose.
6. OK I got a little freaked last night about surgery that's right around the corner (July 25th) I was on here reading and someone had major complications and it scared me so bad. I must be crazy because I still want to go through with this but I'm terrified now. Gotta hear some good stories . How common is internal bleeding and kidney failure from having the sleeve?
7. Thank you for that. Although I believe people's hearts are in the right place I've been told over and over how I don't need wls or im too small for it for the last 6 months. I'll be glad when this is over and I'm recovering. I'm not telling anyone else in person about it. I'm focusing on me. I have 0 cormobilities as well but I did have to have gallbladder out and my feet and back hurt. I couldn't imagine myself waiting till 300lbs to do something because I think my body would shut down before that. My family history is scary enough! I'm not offended by people on here making comments about my lower bmi, just surprised a little. Good luck to all of us and lots of success!
8. Well thank you for that but I am short and very overweight and have gone up and down and feeling like it's having affects on my health. I'm curious. At what point in your opinion do you think someone is in need of wls?
9. Ahhhhhhhh don't be scared. It's going to be OK. I have about a month to go and I can imagine the feelings you're having. Just think it will be over soon and you can get that first uncomfortable adjusting month out of the way and before you know it you'll be posting YouTube videos and before and after shots and looking fabulous!
10. Im the girl to the right These are pics of me thinner. I want this back! And smaller.
11. Thankyou me too! I cannot wait! Its going to be amazing!
12. I just finished mine. Whew. .. It was a lot. But now only 22 more days and I go for my final appointment before scheduling surgery date. You'll get there! I had psychologist& psychiatric evaluations, sleep study, stress test, ultrasound, upper gi, gallbladder surgery, nutritionist visit and 2 blood work ordered.
13. 22 days till my last appointment before surgery. Getting nervous but excited. I hope I'm one of those stories that there was no need for pain meds and the weight is falling off with no stalls lol. I'm ready for whatever I'm given and will work with it and try to be successful. It'll be interesting to see how my body reacts to surgery and how I lose. Everyone's so different. Good luck to all who are undergoing surgery and working hard to conquer this battle!
14. What's your pre op diet guidelines?
15. Worked out yesterday and today. Weigh 4lbs less than Tuesday!
16. I have 24 days until my last required visit/weigh in before surgery on the 25th. I really want to lose some weight before surgery but I'm not required to because I'm low bmi. In fact if I lose too much I could be denied. As long as I weigh 205lbs or more I'm good. So how do I lose 6lbs in 24 days?
17. I love a glass of wine occasionally
18. Mostly just within the 6 months time frame. Maybe your insurance didn't require all this?
19. You look so good. I have surgery in July. Hoping I'm successful like you. Thanks for the pics!
20. I was at slightly above a 40 bmi as well. I had to go in for monthly weigh ins and was told to lose nothing as well or I wouldn't be approved. I can go as low as 205lbs and that is it. I gained by eating all that I wanted to say goodbye to. I am at 211! I want those 6lbs gone before surgery in July! My last weigh in is on July 8th. I would love to get close to that 205, then 199 by surgery day. Feeling yucky and bloated and hot in this Vegas summer heat. Ready to have surgery and spend 3 weeks in air conditioning learning about my new sleeve and following the doctor's orders. I've been given no guidelines on a pre op diet as he doesn't want me on one but after the 8th no weigh ins will be recorded to the insurance for approval so if I lose a few lbs it should be OK. I went to the gym yesterday. Today going to do my gillian Michaels 90 day
21. Done!! 6 months of pre requisites and visits with my last weigh in on July 8th! Started with seminar, Dr weigh in, psychologist evaluation, ultra sound, psychology evaluation, (somehow different from psychologist? ) nutritionist, stress test, sleep study, gallbladder removed, blood work 2x, chest xray, upper gi, and 6 monthly visits to the doctor! And people want to know if I'm sure I want this? Lol. I've been poked, prodded, and parts removed, evaluated, weighed, and still I'm here wishing I was post op by now. Yeah, I'm sure
22. I just had gallbladder surgery recently and I think it was close to 3 or 4 weeks before the incision was healed
23. Most check stands have the guns so you don't have to lift things but customers put stuff on the belt any how! Why? And why do they fill those carry baskets only to plop it onto the belt and just stand there like you're supposed to unload it? Hmm. Lol.
24. Thank you! It feels like a lifetime. I know I'll be nervous but I'm seeing this through and committing 100%!
