  1. I cried when I read this because I've been there. What's worse is when people say"you're not big enough for surgery, you're just chunky or chubby" Oh that's great just what I wanna hear. Leave me alone and let me do this for myself. I'm not hurting them. I'm really sensitive right now because I feel I'm at an all time low because I'm at an all time high on my weight. Even when someone says Wow you're going to be a real hottie after surgery. I think"wtf do I look like now? " how did I get here? Well one day at a time to the road back to being thin and healthy and feeling good and confident. August 15th. Hurry up and get here. I can't wait for August 2015 actually. Hopefully fabulous after photos!
  2. Oh my gosh! That's incredible! Way to go!
  3. The stomach comes out tomorrow so ya gotta hang on till tomorrow. .......
  4. August 15th here. I've lost nothing as im a low bmi and was told to not lose or I'd be denied. I feel left out though. I want to do a pre op diet and lose some before lbs. All I've done is have food funerals and gain and lose 6lbs back and forth. I might try to do a liquid diet for the 4 days before surgery after my pre op appointment so I show some loss and prepare my body somewhat for what is to come.
  5. 14 days til surgery!
  6. My pen pal and I successfully exchanged gifts and emails and it was fun. She is post op and sent me her favorite items that helped her through after the surgery and I'm pre op so I sent her a bariatric medical id bracelet in pink! I've made a friend who is further along than me and who has given me great advice and guidance. Thank you for setting this up!
  7. How did you break your stall? You are looking fabulous btw!
  8. Good luck! My surgery date is August 15th. It's so hard to wait. I see the doc on the 8th for pre op visit, instructions, what to expect etc. Getting excited and mentally ready
  9. Good luck honey hope all goes well

  11. It's one thing to take the photos, but to post them on Facebook is quite another.
  12. So we are down in southern CA visiting my husband's relatives and we made our way to Huntington Beach. His mom snapped some very unflattering photos of me and I asked her to not place them on Facebook and she put one on there anyways. I so cannot wait for my surgery and our next visit and I'm going to wear the cutest clothing and be way skinnier and she can snap away. I almost cried when I saw my pics. I think the clothing we wear to cover up makes us look worse but still! They have no idea that I am about to have this surgery and i do not plan on telling anyone until after I've lost a lot and I'm healed.
  13. Ah that's so cool you guys look great
  14. Happy dance. .... August 15th scheduled surgery. Insurance approval finalized! Thank goodness.
  15. Yeah you go through all these tests and appointments. Do all this research. Pour your heart into this and dream of changes and then you have to wait for a final approval hoping they don't deny you. Two weeks of waiting on top of 6 1/2 months and another month of waiting for the actual surgery. They should just say it's a year long process. Lol.
  16. Finally! August 15 th is my date for sleeve surgery. It is such a relief to finally have the approval from insurance and the date from the doctor. Breathing sigh of relief now. Yayyyy

  18. You and I should be sleeved pretty close to the same time. I'm waiting on insurance approval now as well. I've tried Protein drinks too. I like the premier chocolate. And Syntrax Peanut Butter cookie is good. I wish the insurance company would call already. I think I'd feel better hearing the words "you're approved" even though there is no reason I shouldn't be approved. I am a borderline bmi so I guess I'm just nervous.
  19. So exciting! Good luck to you! Keep us posted
  20. After being told 3 different dates for possible surgery date I finally contacted the woman who schedules the surgeries. The insurance company typically takes two weeks to get back with final approval but they have 30 days. The soonest I will be going in will be August 15th but not for sure. They schedule surgeries as approvals come in so if mine comes back before that date is booked that will be my date.
  21. I feel like I'm in limbo. Everyone seems to have a date. So many of you knew months in advance when it was to happen. I'm waiting for insurance to give final approval then oband in Las Vegas to schedule this thing. So I called this morning and its still pending. They saidit would take 2weeks to get approved from the insurance company. So that would be this Tuesday. Add a few days because of the 4th of July holiday delaying possibly, that would be probably the end of this week. Plenty of time to schedule this thing by the 1st of August. I call the insurance company this morning and its still pending, for the 15th they said! ? No. First of all I am anxious and tired of waiting but even more importantly my 8 year old son goes back to school mid August and I wanted to be without any question able and ready to take him to school without trying to deal with healing and adjusting being so new. This is ridiculous. I'm calling oband tomorrow to discuss this with the scheduler and telling her I need this on the 1st if everything comes through in time. Every appointment I've ever been to I've practically been the only one in there in the waiting room. They can't have too many people scheduled! Everyone else I spoke to saw tons of people and 3 and 4 waiting for sleep study. It was just me when I went. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh give me strength!
  22. I sent the"Yes" reply but I've gotten nothing further. I'm concerned about missing the email. Please let us know when it should be in our email
  23. I agree. I'm trying to do a liquid diet for a few days to see how I do and try out different things. I have been told to not lose any weight past 5lbs because I'm borderline bmi. I'm just waiting on the insurance to approve me and I am good to go... I hope. Just trying to do something productive while I wait. I'm going crazy! Wish they'd call. The doctor said that the insurance company takes 2 wks to call once paperwork is submitted. So it should be this week I find out. I feel like calling them. No patience. Lol
  24. What amount of calories do you eat each day? What is a typical daily menu for you? Breakfast lunch dinner Snacks? Amount of Water?
