2weeks and 2 months
Thanks for your input. I promise I'm not freaking out. 6 months is a long time to wait and I am excited to reach the day I am fully committed to this and the surgery is completed. I have no delusions as to how much effort is required. Though I do not have first hand experience as of yet, I do have 3 people at work who have undergone this procedure. I'm plenty focused and in reading a lot of posts on here, I am not alone in expressing excitement for getting to my surgery date. Where are you at in all this? What surgery have you done? How's your success? All the best to you! -Jan

Weight at a stand still
My friend at work had it done with her husband. He keeps losing. They're 3 months out and she's down 50lbs and he's already close to 100lbs! She was like you in the beginning . But 50lbs in 3 months is outrageous! Totally awesome!

Anyone not tell family?
Only my husband my oldest daughter and my niece knows. A few people at work who have had bariatric surgery know because they are my cheering squad. I am going to lose weight like I have in the past and they'll just assume it's part of my up then down again. I know my mom will freak out and worry. My sister will fuel that worry with my mom. They don't need to know. Maybe some day way down the line I will confide in them but not now. It's my decision. My body. I want this for me so very much and I do not want to hear everyone's opinion who won't even keep an open mind or research this before they go off on me.

insure nutrition
I've heard so many stories about people and their recoveries. Most good. Some not so good. I just want to do whatever I can to help ensure a good healthy recovery, or at the very least, increase my odds. I'm mean let's face it, we're not exactly in the greatest shape of our lives and we're having major surgery. I'm excited for surgery but also scared a bit about the possibilities for complications. I've been doing all kinds of research and found that taking in a lot of protein is supposed to be beneficial for recovery post op . 6 months of appointments and tests. Holding my breath while I learn the results of each, having my gallbladder removed and realizing the damage I've done to this body. I'm especially afraid for the chest xray as I smoked for 20+ years before I quit in October. I don't want to wait till July to begin my commitments to a healthier me. I want to do what I can and use these 6 months to begin my journey to a healthier body and mind.

insure nutrition
I've been given this website by others on here who after surgery ordered their protein drinks through them and it was covered by insurance. My question is do they cover protein drinks pre op? I'm going to ask my doctor but I read that high protein prior to surgery is good for quicker recovery as well. Just wondering if anyone's heard that before?
