I've eaten a few bites of carbs here and there. Never more than a few bites of bread but it sat pretty well. I can't eat more than 1/2 cup of anything so I def eat Protein first. I was craving a filaofish from mcdonalds (I have no idea why although I did the same when I was pregnant - I'm def not preg). I ate about 1/2, including bun. It sat well. I track everything. I've had maybe 4 days where I had more than 50 carbs in a day. French fries taste terrible now. Sweets taste ok but I immediately feel guilt and crappy so it's a deterrent. That's the beauty of the sleeve though, one bite leaves me fulfilled. It's still work to focus on low cal, high protein. I used to love cornbread but I can imagine that would be painful. pizza is my trigger food. It sits way easier than I wish it did. I'm trying to stay away from it,even if I'm full in one piece. It's the only thing I've eaten that I really, really want more of. My head wants it more than my stomach.
Anything that's been fried doesn't sit well. I almost immediately get sick. I love fried fish - so it sucks but it's ok. I'm down 68 pounds total - 38 since 3-18 surgery! How are you doing ???

Thanks everyone for chiming in.
Regarding the P3 packs, I have made my own "bistro box". Sliced apple, chopped chicken, a mini Brie cheese, and Nut Thin crackers. Sounds like a lot but it's probably 5 crackers with those items topped.
The low carb honey wheat wraps are going well I only use 1/2 at a time and barely finish that. Not sitting too heavy in stomach. I also used to make a little veggie pizza. Great idea. Quick and easy.
Hope everyone is well.

I live in North Attleboro. Sleeved on 3.18.14 by Dr. Glascow at Norwood hospital. Doing really good.

Wow. What a journey so far. I moved onto solid foods 3 weeks ago. It's been challenging. My pallet has changed and it's hard to finish much of what I make.
However, I'm on the go a lot. I do Protein Shakes in the AM. I haven't had breads/starch anything yet. Do I dare fall back on carbs? I wonder if any of those low carb/low cal wraps are safe to eat???
Would love some feedback on this. I just want to be able to throw something in a lunch bag besides fruit and yogurt

8 pounds away from Easter Goal. It might be unhealthy to lose that much by Sunday. But I'm pushing for it!

Hey there March Sleevers! Just checking in. Today is my month anniversary. Feeling good. Stall has moved on. I hit 50 pounds lost today! Very exciting. That stall sucked! I measured myself tonight and I've lost 22 inches all over. Biggest loss was in boobs (go figure) and they are pathetic now. Wow! Had no idea they would droop that much so quickly! Ugh. Anyway, just wanted to encourage everyone to measure. I think I would not have been such a nutcase about the stall had I measured sooner. Sure has been an interesting month! Hope all of you are doing ok.
Is that 50 pounds since surgery or overall? We were sleeved on same day so I'm hoping I'm not that far behind! I'm 54 pounds down overall.

Ok all I am still stalled my scale has not moved in well over a week!!. I dont understand I am not even consuming 500 calories a day. I really cant keep much down anyway and end up vomiting often after eating. I dont get how I can eat so little and not lose weight!!. Hw 322 Sw 306.5 Cw 294.4 And I had surgery on march 18th. So like 17 days postop. What am I doing wrong?
Hey! I've been catching up on work and haven't been on here in a week or so. I took find I have stalls. Also sleeved on 3/18. Some days I wake up and nothing has changed on the scale. Then other days I wake up and another two pounds is gone. Solid foods start Tuesday. I'm so nervous.

I'm on purée stage but I'm finding it hard to consume a full serving (3 oz) and that makes if really hard to track my nutritional intake. Anyone else ?????

Im 5 days post op how much Protein should I be getting in. Today I wss able to drink 2 125oz Protein Shakes they have 23 grams of protein, for a total of 46 grams of protein. Drinking all that I only got in about 4oz of Water. How much of both should I be drinking?
I was advised to be targeting 65g of protein.
Two shakes and 1 Greek yogurt usually do the trick.

Over 275 pounds lost between my husband and I! We both had the sleeve in May 2013

Crazy how different everyone's guidelines are. I'm not even supposed to be up to 800 calories until a few months out. Then by a year out we will be at 1200 calories. Right now I am at 300-400. Which I wish I could say I am reaching but I'm not even sure. The number one issue I am having is figuring out food choices. And then when I do, I can only eat an oz and I am too full and sick of it that the leftovers never get eaten. I hate Soups. Let's just say I'm happy to be starting soft foods this Wednesday.
I agree!!
We all got sleeved and each surgeon has their own guidelines... Weird.
Last day of post op liquids tomorrow. Tuesday staples removed and purée begins.

Well I am pretty much positive I just invented the 6 day stall. Not joking. Six days after surgery I had lost a STUPID amount of weight... Like 19 lbs. and since then, not another pound. Regardless of the fact that I have only been eating about 500-600 calories of Water and Protein Shakes. Not one single more pound. And it's been four more days. There is NO WAY my body isn't using these fat stores to keep everything going --- especially since I am only providing 500 calories a day and am trying to walk/move where possible. So yep, I'm betting money I discovered the world's shortest six day stall. Don't doubt yourself.... To not lose would defy physics. If you use more than you eat, you will lose --- eventually. Have faith.
Hey guys - I'm 14 days out and 16 pounds down. I think we all need to commit to not weighing ourselves for 7 days! We are driving ourselves crazy!!!! Anyone else??

I added gas ex strips today... I'm not sure they help. I'm literally laying in bed with a throbbing shoulder
-
sleeping in the bed has been excruciating so I've ended up sleeping in the recliner chair.
Oh Karin! I feel your pain. However when I was moved into my hospital room right after surgery, the shoulder pain kicked in. Since 3/18 I've been in excruciating pain. The more I walk, it temporarily goes away. I've tried alternating ice and hear - doesn't help...

Wow so I spent all day yesterday walking. Outside, inside, laps around Target and reized the gas / shoulder issue was no longer hurting! As soon as I got home and sat down, if came back with a vengeance!
In addition, still a severe abdomen pain (not near incisions).
Picked up gas x strips and chewable children's Tylenol ( pharmacist says it has less sugar than liquid).
Here's to post op day 8
-
I had the nausea patch and zolfran. I did well on both.
The 48 hours in hospital seemed like hell.... It gets better!!!
-
So Water is so key, but for post op - is anyone continually sipping a bottle of water all day? I feel like this is the most effective way to keep hydrated but I have a fear of over filling the pouch - but should be hard to do with water....
Any thoughts. ???

Thanks everyone! Cannot believe 7 days ago I was on my way to hospital for surgery!
Day 6 was definitely the most painful. I think the gravity affect is causing the abdominal wall pain. The gas is the extreme shoulder pain.
Today's goal: sipping a full Protein Shake, not just 4oz. Protein protein protein, walk walk walk.

I used them. Not sure if they helped but they can't hurt. Can you try plain Tylenol? The narcotics will definitly slow gastric motility and make you hold onto pain/gas. I know I wanted to take it but didn't want to crush plain Tylenol and the children's liquid is so sweet unless you can find the sugar free (which I couldn't).
Ok all good to know. I'll do without the pain med and see if I can find children's Tylenol tomorrow.
Ugh I went from feeling great to near tears from the shoulder pain.
Thanks so much Janey!

I definitely wasn't hurting like that at day 7. I do have an ache or pain below the big incision. Are you doing gasX strips?
No gas ex strips. Nothing but Vitamins and pain med before bed. Do u recommend these?

I can't believe I'm almost 3 months post op. I've lost a total of 75 pounds and need to keep going. However, went on vaca and blew my normal routine and need to get back to where I wouldn't let sugar of any kind touch my lips. !! I'm think back to liquid diet for a couple weeks.
I cook and then I'm bored with what I made so I don't eat.
I drink my shakes no problem in the AM.
I STOPPED tracking foods bc I never finish anything but I'm def grazing again.
Help!
