  1. Omg...! I hate that we are all going through this but I came here to post a similar concern. I'm 3 weeks out and the nausea is horrible. No vomiting but I feel bad day in and day out. It's hard to drink or eat. I had to go to the ER to get fluids just yday b/c I was so dehydrated. I'm beginning to have the 'buyers remorse' I've heard so much about. I hate to be negative but it's been a pretty bad week.

  2. All I've been thinking about while on my liquid diet is eating. Now that I have the clearance to eat certain things the idea isn't as appealing anymore. Today I ate an ounce of fish for bfast (forgot my bfast, so I ate some if my lunch cause I don't want to get in the habit of skipping). I has another ounce if fish for lunch and a mini babybel light cheese circle for a snack. I've been drinking Water all day. I don't want to eat, I think I'm full but I ate so little today I don't know if I'm supposed to force myself to eat to meet my Protein goal. I don't know if I'm full or just don't want to eat...

  3. I was sleeved on the 23rd.. Just started week two today because doc said starts when out if hospital and I stayed three nights..: / haha but the 2OZ of loose oatmeal for breakfast was awesome and the 2oz of cottage cheese for lunch was awesome... The applesauce in between didn't do so well with it hurt my tummy.. Probably the acid.... Just had 2oz lose potatoes for dinner and it was FABULOUS!! Haha gonna have 2Oz of Greek yogurt later for a snack!! Such a great thing feeling full on 2OZ of food!! They say after a little while it will take 4OZ which is ok by me!! : ) I have been off pain meds since I came home from the hospital. I was sleeved on the 23rd.. Lucky you...!! I was 4/23 also but can't start sifts until this coming Wednesday. However I have tried Greek yogurt took me all day to eat it had to keep putting it in the fridge. It went down well though. Glad to hear you're doing well also I'm feeling pretty great myself lol

  4. I decided to pay the $750 fee based off of my surgeons credentials. He was the very first surgeon to use the lap procedure in The tri state area and is head of the national surgeons of bariatric group also I did a lot of research if I wanted who I considered to be the NEXT best I would've had to travel to Texas which including travel and hotel/car rental would have amounted to about the same as my program fee and also he charges a fee of $250. There are other surgeons in Louisiana who I could've used but they ALL charged some kind of program fee which ranges from $250-$1000. I believe it's more about location than anything in some area most if not all require the fee so there's no getting around it. I'm happy with my decision. Also I asked for a itemized breakdown of what the fee was used for and my insurance company has reimbursed me over $500 so it's not so bad after all.

  5. So, I'm getting here that the $600 "membership fee" (I'm really trying to hold my nose and look past this) is not reimbursable by my Insurance Company. But the $200 fee paid directly to the Psychiatrist that did my Psychosocial Evaluation does seem to be covered by my carrier, Anthem BC/BS PPO of CA. Has anyone had any luck getting that fee reimbursed? If you did what Procedure Code and or Diagnosis Code did you use. Thanks.

I'm not sure about coding but my insurance (BCBSIL) covered my psych visit, the hardest part was getting the shrink's receptionist to file a claim b/c she kept saying 'insurance never covers our visits'. But they did cover it.

  6. I actually do have a large family to cook for: my husband, four kids, my mom, and myself for a total of 7 ppl. Leftovers are a fantasy to me lol. I've always been a bit skeptical of those Atkins meals, thanks for verifying my suspicion. Since my pre op my family has not eaten any fast food and I'm going to try and keep it that way. Those quick meals tend to add up and I can actually see the difference.

  7. Had my sleeve done on4/23 and was releases the following day. Day 2 was the hardest for me thus far. I was having trouble with liquids but as of today I'm doing much better. Protein is a joke right now. I can't stomach the clear protein (isopure) I find it disgusting! Luckily my doctor told me protein is hard the first few weeks for some and to just focus on sipping to stay hydrated. Today has been pretty good pain wise but it was also on today that I started to get hungry. Tomorrow I'll be able to have full liquids and I'm so looking forward to that. I'm dying for some yogurt I have to check my list again to make sure that I can have yogurt but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

  8. Geesh that's a high deductible. My deductible was $500 which I met before my surgery so I didn't have to pay anything to the hospital b/c that's all they required upfront. My surgeon had a program fee of $750 ( quite a few do but it differs) which was due the week before surgery and I had to save and pinch pennies to get that together. I have an out of pocket max if $2300 that the hospital told me I would be responsible for but I had to switch hospitals if I wanted a closer date and when I did the OOP max was no longer a factor b/c the hospital didn't require it. So it varies based upon hospitals also.

  9. I'm newly sleeved and I've seen so many if those posts that I know when I reach a stall not to panic...it happens. But I also no longer own a scale I plan on using only measuring tape to track progress. However in their defense they are just looking for support and this is the place to get it. I remember wondering, during my lurking phase, why do ppl ask the same question daily about stalls but I just shrugged it off and made a mental note about what to expect and noted that I shouldn't have a melt down if my progress doesn't go as I fantasized that it would...

  10. Wow I can't believe you can eat soft foods at three weeks. I wish I was able too. My post op diet is 3 weeks clear fluids, 3 weeks full fluids and then two weeks of soft foods. I'm not even allowed Protein Shakes til 5 weeks out. It's so weird how every doctor has a different post op plan. You would think it would be the same for everyone seeing how it's the same surgery and all.

Omg...! 3 weeks of Clear Liquids? ! I only have to do 3 days and I'm complaining I'll just zip it up now knowing others have a longer period on them

  11. For me; day 3 was good relaxed at the house and slept on and off. Day 4 was a relapse day because I coughed and when I coughed I felt a burning pain that hurt really bad. Today is day 5 and I'm doing amazing except for when the pain meds wear off. I actually walked a total of one hour today and did great. I am now wearing clothes that have been in the back of my closet for 3 years. And today I have been able to drink 64 oz of Fluid. Mostly Water mixed with low Cal Gatorade. And I sipped on lemonade the whole way through a 2.5 hour sports banquet for my daughter

Wow. You're wearing old clothes already? Have you weighed yourself yet?

  12. Oh yeah, I've got a few tips. Let me tell you how the seven days have gone for you. Day 1: You don't feel much of anything. You just got out of surgery, you're on drugs, you can't move. You're aware of everything but it's not easy to get out of bed. They have you on the morphine drip so you really don't realize the pain you're in, but you're aware of one thing -- and that is the gas pain. You don't even understand how bad that is. It sits on your chest and it feels like you can't breathe -- and honestly, it feels like you're going to get a heart attack any time. And honestly, it doesn't pass, but you do get used to it. Day 2: For me, it was the worst I ever felt. My stomach was really sore and I was in pain. The stitches hurt a lot, but the problem wasn't that. It was the exhaustion and my intense depression and regrets. I went through so much regret on that day. :( Wasn't a good day. That night -- my blood pressure sky rocketed. Day 3: This is the day I went home, but I didn't feel a 100%. I was relaxed, was able to get a bit of Water in. As much as I could, which was like two small cups. =/ Day 4: Goddamn! I felt amazing! My pain wasn't as excessive as it could be. I wasn't that sore. I did pretty much everything myself with little help. I drank two bottles of water, one Protein Shake. Also the first day I was able to sleep on my side, which was like heaven for me. Walked about an hour and a half on the treadmill in ten minute intervals throughout the day. Day 5: Felt even better than the day before. This is the day I really started to marvel at the wonder of the human body and ****, it's so amazing how good I felt. I had two rounds of my Protein shake (70g), 2 and a half bottles of water. Walked for a total of an hour and thirty minutes in ten minute intervals on the treadmill. Day 6: This was the first day of no sore, no pain, no bullshit. I felt like I had the day before going into surgery. I went to the salon, got my hair done. Then I went to the spa --- got a mani/pedi, + facial + eyebrow waxing. I felt pampered all around. <3 Day 7: I weighed myself in the morning and almost cried. Best day ever.

Wow...I'm in day three and this is EXACTLY how I've been feeling, can't wait for day 4!

  13. it should be fine. Just be sure to weigh/measure it out.

What do you mean by weigh/measure it out?

Full liquids means no chunks at all. If you are straining everything out and just drinking the liquid, I'm pretty sure it qualifies.

I plan on just drinking/eating the liquid, I just can't stomach chicken broth anymore.

I drank lots of strained beef veggie Soup. It was a nice change from chicken broth!

I'm so tired of chicken broth, veggie soup is sounding like filet mignon.
