  1. Congrats. This journey seems to be a little easier when you have a partner and it's a bonus that it happens to be your life partner! I was sleeved 4/23/14 and my husband was sleeved 12/16/14. We help keep each other on track...congrats again!

LA - Baton Rouge Area Chapter

This group isn't active, as far as I know. Are you a new wls patient?
  3. For my first 5 months I feel like I had this whole new lifestyle down! I stuck to plan and if I happened to veer I remembered that moderation was the key. I'm in a stall, been here for over 2 months now. Partially because I've strayed so far I don't even know where to get back on path. I got pretty down the first couple weeks of my stall and had a pity party. My vice is chips and cookies now. Chips have always been an addiction of mines but I was never a cookie or sweets person so I don't know how that happened. I'm really worried with the holidays creeping up. Has anyone else fell so hard so early on but was able to bounce back? Advice and opinions welcomed.

7 mos out, failing horribly... ????

Thx for all the great advice everyone! It definitely didn't fall on deaf ears, I know what needs to be done and now I'm doing it. Thanksgiving I was a bit off but I ended up losing 2lbs, I have no idea how! I didn't pig out, my restriction kicked in big time but I did have a little bit of everything except desserts. I didn't wanna walk that line. I was thinking I would have a gain but wasn't expecting a loss. I guess the worst things I ate were cornbread dressing w/ cranberry sauce. Thx again everyone.

@@scstxrn we all basically eat the same thing. But when I meal prep it's just for my breakfast and lunches that I take to work. So we eat the same for dinner w/ slight variations. When I prep my lunches for the week I eat the same thing everyday. There's no way I could prep meals for my family of 7 for the whole week. And things like deviled eggs that I make for a snack they eat them fast and then go looking for mines so hiding is my only option.

I usually stop tracking once I mess up. Smh. I guess I don't want anyone seeing my inconsistencies but that seems to be hurting me. I locked myfitnesspal so now a passcode is needed to view the foods I log so maybe that will help me with staying accountable.

I've heard of them. I checked my local GNC for them but was told they hadn't gotten them in yet. I've been hearing mixed reviews on them. I've had protein chips before and thought they were disgusting but supposedly these are much better.

Thx Rena. I'm ecstatic about what I've lost. No way could I have done that on my own. But I felt like I was failing b/c I got so off track and had lost focus. I've been losing and gaining the same two lbs for a couple of weeks now and the idea of gaining back every lb is scaring me into getting refocused. I've read so many posts and comments where ppl would say they could pretty much eat whatever they wanted and still lose so I think I got a bit laxed and started thinking I could do the same (in moderation) but nope that doesn't work for me. I'm not one of the lucky ones :/ lol

I'm definitely not waiting on him to get approval. Was just stating that he'll understand better once he's had surgery. I'm working on getting back on track. Believe me my husband is the sweetest person you'll ever meet but if he's hungry he's going to go for whatever is easiest and that means my already prepared foods/meals. I'll stick w/ my idea of putting them in the veggie compartment in the fridge.

My husband is currently waiting on insurance approval to have surgery. We're hoping he gets his date in December. I told him he'll understand once he's post-op how serious it is to have someone take the 'special' food that you've prepared when there are other options for them to choose from.

That makes us surgery twins!! Unfortunately we have the same issues. I've never tried the paleo diet but I've been hearing a lot about it lately. It may be something for me to look into.

I have to figure out a way to prep without my 14yr old and my husband eating all my stuff. I'm thinking hiding my meals in the vegetable cubbies in the fridge may work...they never look there. Lol

Love. Love. Love, this response! When I slip up I tend to stop tracking my food. Shame I guess but I'll work on getting past that and recording what I eat no matter what. Thx!!

5 months out...tortoise or the hare?

Same here Catherine! I was like, "you lost 100lbs in 3-6mos?? How??" I wanted to know what I was doing wrong. I have been far from perfect w/ sticking to my plan so for me I know that's why I run into so many stalls but I'm down +75lbs in 7mos and that's slower than most but it's not a race. I believe we'll all get to our goals if we remain focused and stay on plan. I have my doubts some days but you just have to shake that off.

Right. I do know what to do and for the last week I was doing good but fell off today. And I feel horrible. I think what I really need to do is actually sit down and do some meal planning and then prep for the whole week, it seems I always get off course when I don't have snacks and/or meals on plan already thought out. If that makes sense.
  18. I was sleeved April 23, 2014. I feel like I'm always in a stall and my goal right now is to lose a total of 100lbs and after that I'll figure out what I want my goal weight to be but it just looks like it will never happen. I am happy and grateful for my lost thus far, I couldn't have done it on my own...Would love to hear updates from those sleeved in April of this year or close to that time... SW: 260 CW: 184 GW: ?? 19. I know we're not supposed to do but I constantly find myself comparing myself to other people so many lost 100 pounds in six months but I am happy with my lost I know I couldn't have done it on my own and you're right about not as many weight lost questions But I starting to get lot of them now. It's like everyone just noticed I'm losing weight. Lol.
  20. WTG! You're doing great...I was sleeved in April also but I'm 'only' down 76lbs...I'm happy for that but I can NOT wait until I'm down 100lbs!! I have so many stall it's ridiculous. I'm happy for you, congrats!
