luvnme14 reacted to DallasSleeve in Almost one year out (with pics)
I remember being a few weeks away from surgery just one year ago and really wondering if I was doing the right thing. I was constantly looking at before and after pictures on here and wondering if I could really do it. I had NO IDEA how big I was and still cannot believe it when I see it in pictures today. I am so happy I had this surgery and am constantly motivated by this forum so I thought I would share! My first picture is what I use as my before (even though it was really about 3 weeks after surgery) but I always avoided the camera so I do not really have any "posed" pictures of me before. The second one is around the 6 month mark and the last one was a few weeks ago at Easter (pants were baggy and a little big). I am at my surgeon's goal (a little under actually) and am 2 lbs away from the goal I set for myself. I fluctuate about 2-3 pounds a week and I don't freak out! I feel healthy, have tons of energy and wish I had done the surgery sooner!

Get off the scale and go by how you feel and how your clothes fit. Weigh no more than 1X/week. I know it is tempting to base your loss on the experience of others--believe me, I've been there. But this is not like it was pre-surgery. You won't fail this time. This is not a race and there is no finish line. You will get there. Believe in yourself and your very brave decision to have this surgery. You got this!

Wow, I was 3 weeks post op this past Monday, and I am feeling pretty lucky after reading these. I have been very lucky to have no nausea, no fatigue, and no soreness since the 5th or 6th day. I kind of was bad and skipped right over the pureed food stage, and went right to soft. I just couldn't stand the thought of pureed. But please don't change what you are doing because of me. I was just so careful to chew it until it was pureed. I am still on soft foods, and it is so much better. I did learn a valuable lesson yesterday though.....I had errands to run on my lunch hour, and ate my lunch way too fast. Let me tell you, it was awful. Instant nausea, sweating, and felt awful for about 15 mins. So I learned the hard way......eat VERY slowly. I wish you the best - hope you continue to feel better and better! Maybe you had a stomach bug? There is a nasty one going around where I live, and I live in mortal fear of getting it! Take care of yourself, and feel better soon!

Just an FYI ... I'm 5 days post op with the sleeve. Everything is going well. I just wanted to share what my friend shared with me about getting your drinks paid for through your insurance.
Didn't know if it would go through or not but it did!! I signed up online at Insure Nutrition, gave them my insurance information (make sure it's your prescription plan info) and they did all the work for me. They verified my insurance, contacted my Doctor for the prescription and a week later I received my first shipment!!
You all may already know about this but I didn't and I honestly couldn't have been more surprised that it was approved and had no copay!! My drinks were actually delivered a week before my surgery do they were ready for me!
They also do liquid supplements but my doctor has me on chewable Flintstones lol so I'm doing those instead.
    Oh and I'm doing premier chocolate.< /p>

Had surgery yesterday and it went way better than I expected. Only complaint is nausea from the anesthesia. Pain is a level 4 not even using the PCA pump. Hope everybody has the same results. Just started having stomach spasms but only when I sip Water. I'm up and walking with no issues.
