  1. Thank u. Ill definitely mention it to the Dr. I figured they would be fine by now. No such luck! I pinched my skin before my injection as well. Those injections were painful! Sheesh
  2. So surgery was 6 wks ago. I had to take the blood thinner shots for 2 wks now I'm left with bruises and big knots where I injected myself. Its not painful but concerned. Should I be worried about the knots? Any personal experience to help me, please do! Thanks!
  3. I went from 34/36 to now 23/24 and I need help with clothing. I'm not employed and awaiting my trial for MS. Don't have much help and its really depressing me even more than I already am to have to wear my too big FAT CLOTHES!
  4. @Michigan Chic thank u so much! I'm 6 wks post open today and mine is almost completely closed up. Soon ill be able to say its a distant memory too!
  5. I'm so glad my story helped u with ur current situation. At the time I couldn't see the light at the end of my tunnel but its there. It does take ton of patience to get through this hurdle. I'm living proof! Yes let the weight roll off now! Good luck to you!
  6. I couldn't take the pain meds surgeon prescribed for me. I bought extra strength 500 mg tylenol. After it was open /drained I remained in pain maybe a wk after that. The thoughts ur experiencing are normal! This surgery has our bodies/systems completely out of whack.
  7. Well considering I was horrible pain since surgery 2/19 . Went to ER to have it open, drained and packed 3/1, a wk after I came home. I was on an antibiotic 3x daily for a wk. The antibiotics had to work its course. I jus started feeling better within the last wk or 2. My packing is change twice daily. Its now draining a lil blood and its getting smaller and smaller. The hole require less packing. I know its on the right course finally. Ill be 6 wks post-op tomorrow. I know how u feel. The thoughts going through ur mind. I thought everything imaginable. Me being diabetic I knew it would take longer to heal. Its a slow process but for me its getting better. Now to get my mood together, ill be alright.
  8. My infection is cleared up and the hole is closing. I'm doing so much better than when I first posted this. Good luck to u!
  9. My infection is cleared up and the hole is closing. I'm doing so much better than when I first posted this. Good luck to u!
  10. I haven't worked my way to soft foods yet. The smell/taste of foods really bothers me a lot. Chicken breast, tilapia and beef roast aren't on my list either. It still pisses me off at times that I can't eat solid foods. Ill see what surgeon says about doing a scope.
  11. Thank u for replying. I no longer regret my decision to have a RNY. Its slow steady process for me. I'm dealing with anxiety and depression really bad which affect my weightloss. I'm losing but its slower than I want it. I'm trying to improve but like with everything it takes time. This darn weather is really affecting my mood too! I have more support now. I have a few people willing to go walking with me and help each other with our weightloss journey. .
  12. Hi and thank u. I too am now 5 wks post op. Its healing up nicely. The hole is getting smaller. The infection has cleared out. I felt very alone in This. Doesn't help when doctors say this is minimal compared to what could've happened. Gee Thanks. That makes me feel better! Ugh! I'm still on soft pureed foods stage. Can't eat anything solid. Idk if its because of a structure or if my system isn't ready yet. I tried a few times and had to upchuck! Thankful I haven't experience dumping but puking is enough for me! Good luck to u! U definitely aren't alone!
  13. The bariatric clinic could really give a flying bleep if u should happen to develop complications. I've experienced nothing but trouble. I knew complications were a chance but never thought I'd be the statistic. I'm dealing with an infection and open wound in my abdomen. I'm having to pack twice daily and change dressing as needed, since its draining a lot. Yea well the hell with me they may as well told me! Can't get my supplies cuz they want to be complete buttholes! I'm si pissed! I just want all this behind me so I can actually be happy about my WLS decision.
  14. I haven't felt right since coming home domain the hospital 2 Wks ago today. Last Saturday I went to ER to have an incisional abscess open up and drained. I'm still dealing with this infection. Dr prescribed antibiotics. I also have the open hole in my upper abdomen that's still open. My RNY journey hasn't been a good one thus far. Not feeling happy about my decision to have the Surgery yet. I know eventually I will but dealing with complications from this type of surgery kinda dampens it. Anyone else dealt with an infection after Surgery? Needing support through this hurdle! Thanx
  15. I'm 11 days post-op and I've been nothing but short of miserable since coming home. Yesterday I discovered an abscess at my incision site so off to ER I went. That was a 5 HR ordeal because the local surgeon had to obtain permission to open it up because I had my initial bypass at another hospital 1.5 hrs away. Long story short it was finally cut open and drained then packed. I'm still in pain but not as much. My gastric bypass journey has been a rocky one, one I'm starting to wonder if it was even worth it with all the trouble I've had as a result. Sigh... I know its nor reversible and ill Just have to continue but its all been so emotionally and physically draining... Need reassurance at this point because I'm feeling so down right now!
  16. Surgery was 2/19. Everything went well! I'm home recooperating and getting used to my new & improved life! Excited about this new journey I'm on.
  17. I'm struggling! I don't know if I'm missing food or just the act of sitting and stuffing my face nonstop. These 2 Wks on the liquid diet is tough! I have 2 more days then the bowel prep then my surgery! Woohooo!
  18. Hello. I'm having my RNY 2/19/14. I'm looking for a support buddy or buddies. I started the 2 wk liquid diet 2/5/14. I'm located in NE Ohio.
