  1. Is it to late to join? If not...... CW 204.4 Easter Day hopeful wt. 197 and my entrance into onederland for the first time in a long time!!!
  2. I wear scrubs and the ones I have look like tents. I bought 2 sets that fit but they are kind of expensive so I hate to get very many that hopefully I will not be in very long. Guess I will wash often.
  3. Thanks! I will try that.
  4. I have been hungry all day yesterday and today. I am 6wks post surgery. I have already had almost 600 calories today and it is only 5pm. What the heck? At lunch I had almost a whole cup of salad with cheese and ham. Had a cheese stick and then some almonds. My stomach is still grumbling and I feel empty. This is not good.
  5. That happened to me at the hospital after surgery. The nurse and aide were both saying you sure don't look that big to be having this surgery. I said well, I have been obese since I was in second grade. I have never been able to buy clothes in the normal section. I am now 51 and my BMI is 37 and I have high blood pressure and both of my parents had heart problems and my dad had diabetes. I obviously am not going to lose this weight on my own so I feel maybe having this surgery will give me the help I need to finally get some weight off. Then they understood.
  6. Call your insurance company. I called mined and they hadn't received it. The office had faxed it to wrong number. They refaxed and I got my approval two days later.
  7. Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) deficiency can also cause muscle cramps.
  8. I agree. I just thought it was funny. There is no way!!!
  9. I didn't see the anesthesiologist until right before my surgery. He came and ask a few questions.
  10. I have to eat snacks. I am only 5wks out so that may change but I have a hard time getting enough calories in if I don't have a protein shake or something between meals.
  11. I went to the website. They have this thing were you can calculate your protein needs based on sex, weight, height, activity level. It says I need 137g. LOL. I do good getting in 60 a day.
  12. I drink from a straw almost every day. I helps me drink more. Have not had any issues.
  13. I have a problem with MFP because I will log in my meal and then not eat it all. How do you others deal with that? Do you leave it like it is or do you go back and change? I usually have not exactly half left but not really sure.
  14. SO what can happen if you lift too much weight before 6 weeks? I just had an unexpected disaster at my house and had to pick up something pretty heavy. It had to be done and could not wait. I am 5 weeks out. Nothing hurts but all of the sudden I got real sweaty and nauseous. I had to go lay down.
  15. I also weighed more after surgery and did not get back to pre surgery weight for a week.
  16. I started looking into WLS more than 3 yrs ago. Was looking into lap band( I had never heard of VGS )At the time, my insurance required a 6 month waiting period. Twice during the waiting period I chickened out thinking I could do this on my own. Fast forward to oct 2013 and a girl I work with was sleeved. Our insurance no longer had the 6 mths. Wait period. Called my dr, went for a visit in on dec 10th and had my surgery Feb 18th. So glad I did not have to wait 6 months for my brain to start giving me negative thoughts and be 20 lbs heavier. Having my sleeve was best decision ever. And kinda glad I chicken out before and didn't get lap band.
  17. Do what your doctor tells you. She has been doing things this way and I am sure if it was not working for her patients, she would have them sound something different. All doctors do it different and I personally think some of them are way too strict.
  18. I'm right there with you slowlybutsurely. I hate to cook so I don't like to prepare things. I am still in puréed stage so I still have some time to think about it but especially living by myself, it is hard to cook for one. And I hate to eat the same thing days on end. The mason jar thing sounds ok for someone that wants to cook. But that is just not me. Never have, never will.
  19. I have BCBS of Tx. I was denied ????
  20. I was thinking it may have something to do with carbs, also. I was a BIG sweet eater. Working in a doctor office we always have people bringing goodies. I would eat cake for lunch and have another piece later in the day ????.
  21. I went from liquid to puréed stage two days early because I did not want to start the new stage on my first day back to work. I had no problems but it sure has made this yucky puréed stage long and drawn out. I may have to go to the next stage a day or two early.
  22. Today has been 3 weeks since my surgery. I have not had one headache (other than in the hospital which the nurse said was from the morphine). Pre surgery i would have a pretty bad headache at least 4-5 times a week. Hope this continues and I am not jinxing myself writing this.
  23. I am 51. I have been overweight since I have been in 2nd grade. I was the fat kid when there were no fat kids in school. I have never know what it is like to be at my idea weight. I have never known what it was like to shop in the normal size section of the store. I have been on every diet imaginable, even tried the phen/phen fad. Done Atkins, WW you name it, I have probably tried it. I have been on blood pressure meds for about 10 yrs. I finally decided I had enough. I was not going to do it on my own, I needed help. Even before my surgery I started eating healthy and plan on continuing if I ever get past this puréed stage ( yuck).
