  1. I was on clear liquids for a week post-op.
  2. It was really hard for me too and I cheated twice.
  3. My husband is also thin and loves me fat or thin which is great. I look forward to the day when I actually weigh less than him! I don't regret it. Glad you're committed but it will be harder than you think. I see a lot of people on this forum who seem to have had unrealistic expectations going. I see complaints about "only" losing 15 pounds in their first month, etc. I would suggest you start making gradual changes now. Find Protein shakes you like. Personally, I see Protein Shakes as a daily staple for the next 2 years. Give up carbonated drinks, caffeine, and alcohol. Make sure you aren't drinking 45 minutes before and after your meals. There is a lot to get used to but I know it's totally worth it.
  4. 15 pounds is great! How much would it have taken to make you feel better?
  5. Welcome! We have very similar stats. My starting weight was 331 and I am also 35. I was 240 when I married my husband. I'm only 11 days post op. How are things going for you?
  6. windfaerie- I just had my 11 day post op appointment today. I met with my surgeon and he basically asked how I was doing and if I had any questions. Since I have been doing swimmingly there wasn't much to talk about. He didn't check my incisions which I thought was weird, but they are healing fine so I didn't make much of a deal of it.
  7. Are you concerned that you'll never lose another pound again?
  8. I timed my surgery so that I would be right in the middle of my cycle to avoid this problem.
  9. No. It never goes away.
  10. This is my favorite: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Atkins-Advantage-Cafe-Caramel-Shake-4ct/11028011 Atkins Advantage shakes 15g Protein 1g Sugar 160 Calories (11 ounces) 3g Carbs I like them because they taste good and are low carb.
  11. I was sleeved on the 24th and I'm doing well. How're things going for you?
  12. Could you? Yes. Should you? No.
  13. I will be weighing myself monthly so that I don't get discouraged by things like this.
  14. The incision where they took my stomach out really hurts and itches and had a big hard lump under it (all totally normal). I had five and they were glued shut.
  15. I'm only 10 days post-op but if I am down 23 by week 4, I will be ecstatic. I wouldn't even care if everyone else lost 50 lbs in that time period because I know I wouldn't have been down 23 w/o the sleeve. Good luck!
  16. I'm jealous of you all that can get all of your Protein in already! I'm 9 days post-op and the highest amount of protein I have gotten in was 56 g. What are you drinking?
  17. How fast did you drink it?
  18. The OP makes me sad and a little guilty actually. I am 9 days post-op and I feel great!
  19. I'm 9 days post-op. I drink about an ounce every 15 minutes which is about 4 sips. I use a stop watch (on my phone) and a 1 ounce medicine cup to keep track.
  20. Not sure what you mean by "own 12 pounds". What did you have at Chick-fil-a? I had my surgery on 4/24.
  21. My suggestion is not to worry about what is "common". Ultimately, what good does that do you?
  22. I'm so sick of reading that. Thank your surgeon, the surgical staff, the person that came up with the concept of the gastric sleeve, etc.!
  23. I'm a week post-op and I still have to sip. I can do about an ounce every 12 minutes or so. But that's more than I could do yesterday which was more than the day before, and on and on.
  24. I am 4 days post op too and I'm still on clear liquids and have had a lot of trouble not feeling full after a couple of ounces of broth. I have really bad gas so I think that makes me feel full all of the time.
