  1. What a wonderful and inspirational story. Thank you for sharing and you look FABULOUS!!
  2. There is no way to hide this from people closest to you. Your eating is going to change dramatically you have no idea! I told only the people who are closest to me. I didn't want to have to make up lies. It is literally only 6 people who know and I threatened them all not to say a word to anyone.
  3. Stunning!!! Congrats!
  4. Are you drinking your fluids? If more solid food is tough for you right now try going back to protein shakes. Also could you be backed up? Constipation can slow things down even cause weight gain. I also would recommend shortening your walks but making them more frequently like 4 days a week!
  5. That happens to me when I eat or drink too fast. I also find everyday is different. Some days I am so hungry and feel I can't stop eating (I am on fluids, protein shakes, yogurt, sf pudding and strained cream soups) and some days I have to force myself to eat.
  6. My surgery was 3/26 and I'm feeling good. Water has been the hardest thing for me but that seems to be getting better. Last I weighed I am down 13lbs since surgery.
  7. Hi I'm 36 as well just got sleeved 1 week ago! Have you had the surgery yet?
  8. I have sugar free muscle milk 30g protein I add a scoop of protein powder and some plain Greek yogurt. I drink about 6oz at a time but it's packed with protein and tastes great!
  9. Cover your scars! Any tanning will make scaring worse! I am a tanning person too it's my addiction in the summer. You just really don't want those scars to get worse baby them and eventually they may not exist!
  10. Yes I think 2000 is way too much in calorie intake. Also your meals should be mostly made up of protein! Try to stay away from carbs. Do you have a nutritionist you am call?
  11. Empty stomach can do that too! Try having something very plain.
  12. Wow that's awesome Flamingo yesterday I got about 8oz total in protein shake. Maybe 2oz of cream soup, 2oz of pudding. I am really just not hungry and eating feels like such a chore but everyday gets better. Gas pain comes and goes but is def tolerable. Just learning the sleeve how slow I have to drink. Incision sites don't hurt much. Gas pain seems to be worse at night when I'm lying down for a ling period of time.
  13. How are all my March 26 sleeve sisters doing? Each day for my seems to be getting better. Fluids have been the hardest for me but are getting better. Had pain seems to come and go! I never really feel like eating I have to force myself.
  14. Thanks Denise!! Feeling good went for a walk around the lake today and felt good! Still struggling with the fluids, protein drinks go down a bit better and can get 4oz down at a sitting. Thank God for sugar free Popsicles!
  15. Just had my surgery wed March 26th with Dr. Mccluney. I could not be happier his team had been wonderful!! Everyone at Saint Elizabeth's have been nothing shorter than outstanding! It was a very long process to get here and I know my journey has only just begun, but I am confident that with such an amazing team behind me the only option is to succeed!!
  16. I'm good! The 26th can't get here fast enough!! I'm curious to see how I do ... Will I be one if those who recover quickly after surgery? Will I lose quickly? Or will I experience all the bumps I hope not!!! I am dying with anticipation! How are you doing?
  17. Omg long day today with pre op appt.'s !! My head is spinning with all the info! I am just so excited to start this journey!!!
  18. I'm doing the sleeve. How about you? Let the count down begin!!!!
  19. That's awesome!!!! Congrats Girl!!!! I have my pre op tomorrow I am so excited! Surgery is on March 26 I hope I have your kind of success!!!
  20. Hey Debras65! My surgery is on March 26 too!!! I am so excited!!! I didn't have to go on any special diet only had to lose a percentage of weight witch I already have so I am just continuing with that! I am just super motivated to get this weight off and keep it off once and for all!!! My issue has always been keeping it off and I feel like the surgery will help me in that ( I hope ) !!!
  21. My issue isn't about The Dr isn't about the child's age. I commend the mother for being proactive for her daughter. I wish my mother had done it for me when I was younger. I am worried about after care and this may not be an issue maybe they plan on making frequent trips back to the dr it's just something to think about when traveling for surgery. If something were to arise your surgeon who is responsible for you is not easy to get to.
  22. Yes, I live near the Wakefield lake! It's a great place to walk! I haven't gone to the support groups yet but who knows what the future holds! My Dream goal weight would be about 140 but I don't know how realist that would be to maintain for me... But we shall see!! The 26th can't get here fast enough!!!!
  23. I think I will tell more people after I just don't want people trying to talk me out of it! Last night my husband took me out to buy my supplements and Protein! He was very hesitant about the surgery at first but now he sees how excited I am and he has come around! Although I know when he sees me in pain he won't be happy.
  24. Ok here the thing! I have been overweight my whole life!!! Once you gain fat cells you never lose them they shrink but you never lose them they are there waiting in the wings to be inflated again. My first diet was when I was 8 and it became a way of life. I have no doubt your daughter may need this surgery a 13yr old did instead a 20yr old me was guzzeling diet pills curbing my appetite till they took it off the market and I was screwed!!! I am however worried about Mexico!! Your daughter will need to be monitored after and if problems do arise nobody will touch someone else's work esp. If they are worried about malpractice. Work with her dr's go through the right channels do this the right way!!! DO NOT DO THE BAND too many scary stories of it not working complications daily throwing up. Thus is not what she needs! Good luck to you and your daughter!!! And good for you for being such a pro active mom!!!
