  1. Congratulations!! I too am scared about regaining the weight. I have reached goal and I am under goal about 11 lbs. I have been 129 lbs since about December and I have not moved since then. I go from 128-130 but I always stay around this. I do not exercise yet. I should and my Dr. has been telling me too, but I have just been lazy! I know I know.. I need to. I do not have much loose skin, I was lucky at that. I did lose hair, but not too bad. It is starting to grow back and get the thickness back. I do eat everything. Although, bread gives me heartburn, but I still eat it. I just eat very small portions. I am hoping that I can stay at the weight I am at and I do not gain much back. I know they say I can gain up to 10 lbs back, but I am hoping not to.

    Chips & Salsa

Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for good chips substitute. I love chips & Salsa. I know the salsa is not bad at all, but the chips are horrible. Any replacements? I make a very good homemade salsa, but have no clue how I can eat it that will give me the same taste or similar. I am 4 months post op.

    4th of July Challenge

Count me in. This will be my first challenge. I am currently 156 lbs. My goal by July 4th is 145.
  6. I was told to use a firming lotion to help with the sagging skin. My dr. said that with following my protocol, exercise and a firming lotion, that I should not have too much excess skin hanging. What does everyone else use or suggest? Has anyone heard of "Philosophy of Amazing Grace firming lotion"? I wonder if it is really worth the price tag. Thanks everyone

    2 lb weight gain overnight

Popcorn?? I was told your not supposed to eat popcorn because it can hurt your sleeve? Popcorn is my most favorite food and I have not had any because I was too scared to. I am 11 weeks out
  8. I am almost 11 weeks out. I used to be able to eat fine and without pain, but the last couple of days, I feel full all the time and I can only eat half of the portion I used to eat. I eat the same thing everyday and the same amount, but the last couple of days I can only eat half of the portion and I feel like when I did when I was like 4 weeks out, when I first started to eat solids. It hurts going down and I feel like its stuck. Could this be gas or air? I take a Gas X pill every morning and night and Prilosec every morning. I am not sure what this could be. I feel so uncomfortable and I can barely eat because I get full immediately. I am just confused because I used to be able to eat my portions fine, but now I feel like im back to 4 weeks. I cant even drink as much water as before either. Or my protein shakes. Has anyone gone through this? Do you feel like you are back at 4 weeks?
  9. I will be 8 weeks post op on Monday, 3/24. I had my surgery January 27, 2014. What is everyone snacking on? I have been having such a hard time eating foods. Noting tastes good and I don't like the texture of anything. Here is my daily diet: 30 minutes after I wake up- Protein shake (Premier Protein 30 g) Breakfast- Greek Yogurt (about 2-3 oz) Lunch- chicken chipotle Soup (Homemade) barely eat the juice, just eat the pieces Snack- 1/4 banana Dinner- Chicken chipotle soup (homemade) barely eat the juice, just eat the pieces My Chicken chipotle soup is made with lots of Shredded Chicken Breast, Green Beans, Zucchini, celery, cilantro and chipotle chilies. Apart from the above, really the only other things I can tolerate are: Cream of Wheat some cheeses Fruit salads (romaine lettuce only) but I can only eat a little That is pretty much it, and I have tried just about everything.. Just don't like the way it tastes or the way my stomach feels like its turning inside me. Any suggestions would be great. As of now, I am not allowed to eat Beef or Pork. Chante
  10. Yeah I have tried deli meat as well and I don't like the taste. It tastes so fake. I do like cottage cheese, and to eat it with watermelon also. Its not the crazy noises that bother me.. Its the feeling, I feel nauseous when I feel my stomach turning.

  12. I was sleeved January 27, 2014 SW 220 CW 187 I am not tracking my food, I guess I should. My daily food intake is as follows: Start of day 1/2 Protein Shake (premier protein), still cant fit the whole thing Breakfast- Greek Yogurt Lunch- 3-4 oz of chicken Chipotle Soup (homemade) I just found out I was not supposed to be adding corn, so this changed. I only add chicken breast (shredded), green Beans, chipotle chilis, celery, and squash. I can eat a lot of this soup. Snack- some fruit. Maybe 1/4 of banana or watermelon Dinner- More soup 3-4 oz. I don't drink much water.. cant seem to get enough. I am at maybe 20 oz. I know I know.. I need more.. Its just so hard. The only foods I like are the ones listed and I can eat cream of wheat. I can eat really any soup, but I was told from my nurse that I shouldn't eat too much soup because I am getting full off of liquid, but I do try to eat as little liquid from the soup as possible. I have not started exercising yet, I don't know why.. Just been lazy I guess. I need to start and plan on starting the treadmill and lifting my dumbells (5lbs) to help my arms. I have been on a stall for over 3 weeks and actually I started to gain a little. I gained 1 lb this week, but my nurse said its probably because I was eating the soup with corn, which is a starch. I always thought it was a veggie. Go figure. So I made new soup last night without the corn. Hopefully I will start to lose weight again. I am having issues having a bowel movement, I go maybe 1-2 every 2 weeks. I was already irregular before surgery. I will drink Milk of Magnesium to help me, but that doesn't really work to well with me, and I gag every time I have to drink it. I wish I could find more foods that will sit well with me and that I can actually enjoy the taste, apart from my soup. I cant really eat chicken, it tastes like wood and so blah. fish is too strong taste for me and grosses me out. I have tried tuna and it just does not sit well. I have tried salads, they are ok.
  13. I had the 3 week stall too, and I just got out of it last week. I started to lose a little bit of weight again this week. I am not sure if my stall was long due to not having regular bowel movements. I might have 1 every 8-10 days. but I was irregular before surgery too.
  14. It's been a struggle, but looks like I am getting the hang of things.. Sort of!!

  16. I am 5 weeks post op and my Dr says I can have all solids except Pasta, breads, rice, tortillas, anything with grains, red meat and pork. I love pasta and bread. What are some substitutions? Does anyone eat these, even though Dr recommends you dont? What are meals I can make that does not include this?
  17. I am a little over 4 weeks out and I am starting to eat solid foods. However, everything tastes nasty. I have no taste anymore. Although, my soups taste fine. but solids just don't. Is this normal? will my tastes ever change back? or will I forever hate food? I get so frustrated.
  18. Frustrated with food!

  19. I am almost 4 weeks post op and I just can't cope with this adjustment. This has been the hardest and worst month of my life. I am dehydrated because I can't seem to drink enough water. I only drink about 25 oz a day. I just can't drink more, I try and I feel sick. I barely eat anything because I get sick, due to be dehydrated. I am depressed all the time. I know everyone says this will pass, but I feel like this has been a bad decision. And I can't take it back. I am trying to stay positive and keep in my mind that in the long run this will be the best thing I could've done, but it just dont feel like it right now.. I am on soft foods, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, fish, plain yogurt, tofu, and retried beans oh and cheese, but I just can't eat that anymore. And I have been just eating broths but my Dr said my body is in starvation mode and I am burning muscle.. I just don't know what to do anymore...

I cannot eat chicken salad or any other type of eggs yet. They said only scrambled.

    Having problems adjusting

Yes, I have tried flavored water, adding apple juice, zero water, just about all, but it seems like I'm too full to drink more.. I just can't seem to get the water needed.
