  1. Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I had a death in my immediate family, so i have been traveling back and forth to my home in Mississippi. As far as the weight loss, it has really slowed down. I had my first fill a few weeks ago but i still have no restriction. I am due to have another one in 3 weeks. I hope it helps. I am exercising and trying to follow the diet but its tough. Other than that i am doing well. Good to see everyone else is doing great. Good luck with your approval, Atlspeedy. I promise to keep in touch. Just had alot going on this past month. Well i am heading out to vote. I will check back in later.

  2. 4jin i am doing fine. Still a little sore in the port area but other than that i am doing well. I am having a hard time getting the required protien in but i am trying. I ordered a weight loss cookbook today because my meals are becoming very redundant and boring. Glad everything is going smoothly for you. You will be banded in no time. Congrats!!!

  3. I started my process at the end of August this year. I was banded on November 27th. I was approved thru insurance rather quickly. Most of my waiting was the scheduling of the appointments and the doctor's availability. It was a 3 month process for me. The bariatric center was really nice about trying to schedule some appointments on the same day.

    Good Luck!!!

  4. :ranger: Klpdbl i am so sorry to hear that, but your wieght loss is great and very encouraging. Hopefully in 2 weeks you will get your fill. You are definitely an inspiration to me. Went back to work on Tuesday. Sorry i haven't posted but, I was only off a week from work and it seems everything went stir crazy while i was out. I had my one week post op appointment on Wednesday. I lost 5 lbs in one week. I guess Water and boullion cubes will do that to you. I am not hungry at all. I drink Unjury shakes for Breakfast and lunch and food for dinner. The protien shakes really help with hungry. The gas pain is terrible but walking helps; other than that i feel fine. I hope everyone else is doing well.

  5. Hi guys, I am 2 days post op and feeling pretty damn good. My boyfriend and I even walk around the park yesterday with no problem. The only issues i've had is with gas and Constipation. I took some gas x strips and they worked like a charm. Also Colace works greaat for the constipation issue. The adult strength tylenol seems to help with the pain so i am no longer taking the liquid vicodin. Sticking to the liquid diet so far and it hasnt been too bad. I hope everyone is doing great.

Kissmygrits, will you be banded by Dr. Lin at Emory? He is a really good surgeon. Will you have it at the Clifton Rd location or Crawford long? I was banded at Crawford Long.

Have a great day Everyone. :(

  6. Hi jmschnapf

I am currently going through the same thing you were. Was your original surgeon able to get you in or did you have to go another route? I meet with my surgeon on next Wednesday and i pray that he can fit me in before December 31st. My insurance changes at the first of the year as well and doesnt cover lapband.

  7. My insurance is changing January 1st and lapband is not covered. I spoke with the surgery coordinator on yesterday and she informed me that Dr. Lin at Emory, is already booking into December and he may not be able to get me in. She said she will inform him of my situation and let me know something next week. I have an appointment scheduled with him on the 21st to go over my preop results and to get my date. My insurance is changing at the first of the year and lapband is not covered in the new plan. If he cant get me in by December 31st, then i will have to self pay which will totally suck being that i have went through this whole process with BCBS. Any advice or encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Guys. :)
