  1. They say your metabolism changes.
  2. I only use my phone for BP & cannot figure out how to edit my stats. Any suggestions?
  3. I took my son to Buckle to get a watch & the sales guy thought I was there to shop for clothes. He said so you need M tops & 27 or 28 pants right? Btw... A 27 or 28 at Buckle is nothing like a 22 at Lane Bryant! I was so happy to just be seen as me by someone who didn't know me before!! & the guy was completely correct! He is really good at his job!????
  4. I buy almost everything resale. But I too love Buckle!! Ann Taylor Loft, White House Black Market. Just makes you feel girly:)
  5. I think it comes from the stigma of obesity. Some people judge obesity more harshly because they say we contribute to our problem. It has only been classified as a "disease" for a little over a year. I have received comments from all ends of the spectrum. For a while I only told those closest to me about my surgery. As time has passed I have become more open. Some are very supportive, some jealous & then some discount my weight loss because " you didn't do it yourself"! I do like to remind people that I haven't eaten bread, rice, potatoes or pastas in over a year!! But I really don't care what they think. I have people ask me my "secret" all the time. There really is no secret. Losing weight is HARD!!! With or without surgery. People want a quick fix & in truth, there isn't one.
  6. Crysclev you don't suck! Just keep at it! This is a journey just stay on track!!
  7. Almost a year post op! Would love to hear how everyone is doing!
  8. I added a quest bar 2 or 3 times per week. It really helped. If you don't want the calories, ask dr if you can up the benefiber.
  9. I don't mind them. If you put in freezer for a few minutes, they get slushie almost like a milk shake. I prefer strawberry
  10. I'm approaching the 11 month mark. So very happy with where I am & how far I've come. Hope you are all doing well!
  11. I have chest pain if I eat something too sweet!
  12. I agree the Mexican tortilla was too spicy for me & I generally like spicy food.
  13. When you are admiring a dress, in the resale shop you have been frequenting for 6 months, & the sales clerk says "that won't fit you. It will be too big!"
  14. Just to clarify... I didn't need any pain medication after my sleeve. I did after my c-section. But I didn't bounce back as fast after the sleeve surgery. I was tired & just didn't feel good for a few days. You will make it through just fine!
  15. I always heard wait a year after reaching your goal weight
  16. I felt the sleeve was tougher recovery. Not sure if it was due to my age or the lack of food you can consume after the sleeve. With that being said, neither was horrible & I obviously lived through both! & in the end both were SO worth it!
  17. Quest protein bar every 3 or 4 days helped me! A lot of carbs but they net only 2 or 3 due to the fiber
  18. Karlam29 you look lovely!!
  19. I just bought a pair of size 27 Miss Me jeans! For those of you who were like me & didn't know about Miss Me jeans, that is nowhere near the same as my old size 22 Lane Bryant jeans!
  20. Christmas shopping in Buckle last night. The sales girl wanted to help me. She asked if I needed a M or a S top! I almost died!! And both sizes fit!
  21. Justjess89 your undies are even happier! Pink is a cheerful color. Congrats!
  22. Crazyjaney sounds like you are doing great! Sometimes my skin looks awful & other times no SO bad. I'm hoping it tones up some. I really don't want to look old or sick so I'm comfortable with a higher weight. I'm also a large frame. I wear an 11 or 12 in a shoe! I am so much healthier than I was. That was my main goal too.
