    Good morning everyone!
I have been doing really well. I did get a 10 day stall, but knew it was coming so no biggie. I still have so much energy I feel like the energizer bunny on crack. It's bad. LOL I have progressed to what my Dr says is phase 2. Soft meats and veggies. I had chicken parm without the breading the other night and I made a small tuna casserole in my 4oz ramekin with lowfat cheddar cheese baked on top. Yum! I have no issues getting all my Water and Protein shakes in-course waking up at 3:45am everyday for work helps that end as I start drinking by 4:20 on my Protein shake.
But I hit my first goal today!!!! I weighed in at 199!!!!! I am SO excited!! Goodbye forever to the 200's. It's time we broke up and I am never looking back at that again. I also had to go out and get pants. I've been wearing stretchy jeans since the surgery. Well when you kids tell you that you rear is sagging worse than a teenage boys baggie pants it's time for a new pair. I had been wearing a 1x since about the 3rd week. Well tried a XL, still too big. Got a Large! They fit beautifully! I am still a bit tender to wear button jeans, so I will wait a bit on that still. Doing the happy dance here today! It was a good way to start my day by hitting my first goal!

Nell65 got a reaction from Lulah in February Sleevers.... Check in!
    Good evening ladies!
I was sleeved on Feb. 12th. Little to no pain at all-even asked my surgeon if he actually did anything. Bonus that he glued me so no staples or stitches and very tiny incisions! I get all my H20 in everyday-course I get up at 3:45am for work so I have plenty of time. I am now on pureed. I have eaten fish that way and I have tolerated scrambled eggs just fine. Same goes with egg salad. I add about 2 tbsp of pureed butternut squash for my veggie. I went out last night and had chicken marsala-chewed it to a pulp. No issues with food. I have 2 Protein shakes a day-love my Peanut Butter cookie shakes, so GOOD!
I was 245lb when I started in October, lost 13 by the end of January. I was 232 the day of my surgery. I was 202 today. Course this is the week that Aunt Flo is visiting-mean old witch-so I've slowed up a bit. I am down 43lbs total-30lbs post surgery. I am pleased. I bought a FitBit on the first post op I had on Feb. 18th. I just got my 50 mile badge. Yea!
As to clothes-well I am waiting. I did get a pair of elastic jeans at Wally World. Size 16-18, they are baggy. LOL But I can't wear jeans I had in waiting which is odd, but I am taking my time and waiting to see more changes first.
My youngest and I signed up for the Color Run 5k in July-we are excited to go!

Nell65 reacted to CoffeeGrinDR in PLEASE rethink surgery! it's cancer causing, do the reasearch! :(
Wow, talk about misinformation. I've read dozens of meta-studies of sleeve research and the incidence for cancer actually drops dramatically. The correlation between gastritis and sensitivity to stomach cancer shows, yes, but stomach acid is managed if your post-surgical protocol is followed. MOST people have an h. pylori (bacterial) infection that is correlated to stomach and esophageal cancer.
No medical study I have seen offers a conclusion or even insinuation that the gastric sleeve (performed since 1881) leads to cancer.

I'm so sorry you are having this problem with your diabetes. I am also type 2, 2-1/2 months out and lost 30 lbs. since surgery. Before surgery I was on Lantus 45 units, 2 glucovance and 1 metformin a day. I'm now down to 25 units of insulin and only 1 glucovance a day, my fasting sugar is in the 90's and in the 120's before bed. Since you are only 3 wks. out, it might take a little longer, but don't be discouraged...it will come down. My A1C also dropped from 8.9 to 7.4, which is still high so I'm also hoping for it come down more to the point where I no longer need the meds. I'm with you, I did this surgery because of the diabetes, also high blood pressure and sleep apnea. I'm also sleeping better and do not need the CPAP anymore.
Good luck, don't get discouraged, you did the right thing by having the surgery, just give yourself a little more time.

Today I am just 10 days post op. Day of my post op appointment, I went right after to the mall and walked a total of 2 miles. I called them yesterday as I was concerned about my BS still being a bit high(at least for me). I was told I could start the treadmill. So off to Gold's I went. Got in a hour on the treadmill. I wear my FitBit-so total walking everywhere including the mall again tonight was 11, 906 steps-and the day isn't over yet! Not sure if it's all the meds I am now off of, but I have SO much energy! It's like I am the energizer bunny. Going again in the morning to do another 2 on the treadmill. It's going to have to be daily for me as I want those numbers down!

    Good afternoon everyone,
Went this morning for my post op appointment. It went great! I am down 15lbs since last Wednesday when I was wheeled in for the surgery. So a total of 28lbs lost. Very happy about that! I am almost making my 64oz a day of Water. I managed for the first day yesterday my Protein Drinks. I got one full EAS carb count down. Tried the Isopure pineapple-orange, dear God that's nasty stuff. Got 4oz there. Finishing that off quick and that's off my check list. I asked about having broth-nope that's out. Reason is the sodium-either low or regular will cause weight to stall or climb. Ok-good with that too. I asked about breath mints-because being a ketosis, bad breath is aweful. So Listerine disolving tabs it is. Fine with me as I really like them! My next appointment is March 7th and until then, still Clear liquids and Protein drinks. So it's all good.
Best news to me anyway was when the bandages came off. Underneath, no stiches or staples to be removed. My surgeon used Dermabond. I love him-he saved me from being even more uncomfortable!
So to Celebrate, we went in to the mall and walked! I walked 2 miles today. It felt amazing! I have so much energy. To reward myself-I bought a Fitbit and smaller pants at the sporting goods store-still going to need stretchy stuff until I am healed from the surgery. But I am now in a XL-1X depending on the cut.
So that's my news! It's been a beautiful day-even if it did snow.

I know... I know.. it's Water weight.. .etc. etc. etc.....BUT it's still weight.. lol
I started out at about 248 pounds ( roughly what I was when I went for my consult on January 23rd)
The day of surgery I was about 240 ( liquid diet prior to surgery)
After surgery I weighed about 242 ( IV fluids... swelling or whatever)
Today I dusted ...(yes literally dusted off my scale because I had become SOOOOOO discouraged/depressed about my weight I stopped weighing myself because the number fluctuated up and down so much *Life Long Yo-Yo Dieter here*)
Anyhoo dusted off my scale and it read 230.4 lbs.... I am in total disbelief and amazed that I have lost 10 lbs in a lil over a week. I am definitely going to enjoy the "honey moon phase" of my weight loss ( this isn't my first rodeo) and I know there will be weeks with no weight loss, times when I might stall etc. but for now ...oh how sweet it is to be a loser!!!!
I started out wearing 18 pants and XXL or XL shirts depending on cut/manufacturer. Tried on an outfit I wore to work my last day before I went out on leave for my surgery and it is actually loose... I couldn't button it all the way down because my stomach and hips were so big.. BUT TODAY... I was able to button it all the way down to the very last button (old navy) and it is VERY loose in the front. You can't see my back fat when I turn around. It fits wonderfully. My jeans (old navy as well) are very loose need a belt...but my stomach still hurts a bit from the surgery so I am going to pass on that for now. But at the rate I am going I should be able to fit into a 16, comfortably by the end of next month!!!
I am TOO happy right now!
Before and after pics coming soon... so stay tuned!

How does it feel? Freaking awesome! I have more energy than when I was 20 (I'm 47), I can cross my legs either way comfortably, I can workout for an hour plus, movie theatre seats feel enormous, my thighs don't rub together when I walk, I could go on and on for hours! Hands down the best decision I have ever made for myself, my family and my health! Don't get me wrong, the "fat" person is still in my head trying to get out, but it think that struggle will always be there.

I found the easiest way to drink-set alarms on your phone for every 5 mins for a sip of Water. This way I know I won't mess up the water! I have to drink 42oz a day. I bought small bottles-12 oz each, that means almost 4 of them a day for now. It's not as daunting that way. Slept really well last night in my recliner. Woke up to the best news-no insulin coverage! First time in 5 years-no insulin shot when I wake up. Only med I now take is my thyroid. I am loving my new journey!

    Good afternoon,
I went in at 6:45 yesterday for my surgery. I was back to my room at 11. Found out I was the only patient on the bariatric floor until 3 when I was moved to a private room on the surgical floor. Super nice corner room that had windows on both side to enjoy the mountain view. I was out of bed by that point and walking the halls. My blood sugars went up, but are coming down now and insulin was reduced to 3 units. No other meds. I am sore, but not overly so. My Dr said it went extremely well. They didn't do the upper GI x-ray today because of the snowstorm. He wasn't worried because I am drinking the three one ounce cups each hour. So I will have that on Tuesday for my post op.
So glad its over. Now I get back on with the business of relearning and living life. See you on the other boards!

I am three days out too. I got down 33 oz of Water and 1 ice pop yesterday. I am on 18 oz right about now. I do the three small cups to sip on. I've not tried anything else yet. Just concentrating on hydration. I get to start Protein shakes on Monday and get to up my Water to a ounce every 5 min instead of 20 min. Baby steps is the way I am looking at it. Don't look at the big picture-focus on that hour.
