    I'm slipping in scared

You've taken the first big step in going back to your doctor. Trucking making it very difficult to eat right, but if you plan ahead, you CAN do it! Bring a cooler with some cheese sticks, greek yogurt, maybe the mixings for protein shakes. If you have to eat at a restaurant, choose veggies and protein. Drink lots of water. Walk whenever you can, whether it's while waiting to get loaded/unloaded, or before crawling into the bunk for the night. You didn't go through major surgery to slip backwards.... move forward, and think positive! You can do this!!!
  3. I'm 21 days out. I don't think it will ever get better, but your willpower should get better! I see/smell all the foods my husband eats, things I love, too, but then I just have to remind myself why I went through the surgery in the first place. The first 6 months to a year are the most critical in losing the most weight while learning new habits and better food choices.

    Wonderful news

    That's fantastic!!
  6. The pre-op diet was the hardest for me, I was always hungry, tired and grouchy.....but you just have to keep on keeping on and before you know it your surgery day will be here and you won't have to worry about it. Always remember why you are doing this, and the results you'll have in the long run.
  7. My doc also told me two Flintstone Complete daily.

    Post Op June 2014 Sleevers

Feeling nervous is normal; just keep reminding yourself why you want to do this. I had my moments, too, but now that I'm 2 weeks post-op, I feel much better, and am very happy I went through with it.

    Gas pain and diarrhea

I was on clear liquids for 5 days... Water , broth and g2 Gatorade. I started adding in 3 protein shakes a day made with skim milk over the weekend. Yesterday for the first time i ate a few spoons of Greek yogurt and some cottage cheese. I've been getting 60-65oz liquid in a day Could very well be the shakes then, just like me. I intend to try it another time, just to be sure, and if I still have the runs from it, I guess I'll try to switch brands of the protein mix.

    Gas pain and diarrhea

What are you eating? I had my sleeve on June 2, and on June 12 was given the go-ahead to start limited soft foods; everything seems to be good, but both Protein drinks I tried went immediately through me. I was on liquids after surgery, is that what you are on?

    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

Thank you! 2 weeks post-op and I'm doing great! The first 9 days I was on hospital pre-packaged liquids, then after my check up last Thursday I got to move into to a limited soft food stage; 4 weeks of that, then I'll be on to full foods. I am still so amazed at how well everything went for me. No gas, no nausea, no vomiting. The only pain I had was a sore stomach, and that finally stopped about 4 days ago. It no longer hurts when sitting down or standing up I feel very blessed and fortunate.

    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

I'm 9 days out and still doing pretty good. Today I tried my own protein shake using almond milk, whey isolate and 3 slices of bananas. ..... It went right through me, fast! Not sure which ingredient caused it, but I won't be trying that again soon. I'll stick to the food products I'm supposed to be using; however I am almost out of them, mainly because I refuse to eat the powdered cream soup....ick. But I see my dietician and Dr in 2 days, and I'm hoping to be told that I can transition to soft foods.

7 days post-op here, doing good!!
  20. Hi gang! Well, I'm 7 days post-op and doing great. Stomach is still very sore when rising or sitting, but all the liquids have been staying down. I see my dietician and doctor this Thursday; hoping I can transition to solid foods... I miss chewing, LOL.

    after surgery

Its so strange how we all react so different...I was sleeved June 2nd and I have barely any gas pains, but my stomach is sore and tender. I'm not having any problems keeping liquids down at all...I just have to make sure I take small sips.
