    February 2014 Mexico Sleevers!

I had my surgery 2 days ago in Tijuana with dr. Ponce de leon. It all went very fast. I got to the hospital at around 12:30 pm, the staff took me up to my room and told me to get changed. A nurse came in and put in my IV, then I had bloodwork done and a quick ekg...about 5 minutes later they wheeled me up to the OR and I walked in, met the "medicine man", & then I was out. To be honest I havent had any terrible pain, but my stomach is tender...hot Water bottle has helped. I did travel on my own and its been fine, but there have been a couple times where I wish my spouse had been with me, but I do realize that he wouldnt be able to do anything for me other than just be there for company...if that makes sense. The Doctors and nurses at INT hospital were very attentive and were always checking up on me. I would definately try to learn a few key words of spanish or bring a phone with google translate on it with you so that you can communicate your needs better if you dont speak any spanish at all. As for two days out...Im not comfortable, but Im not in pain either...Im sure everyday will get better. Worst part for me (outside of having my iv veigns collapse 4 times - yep...4 times ...I have deep little veigns) was having my drain taken out...blech (be prepared...but know its only momentary). I havent had any naseau and like I said, gas pains are tollerable for me). Good luck! Youll do just fine!!!
  3. ...it's hard. That is all. (Im on my first day...I shouldnt be complaining...sucking it up now.) Thanks for allowing me to bitch.

    Sleeve 2/10.......excited

Its coming up sooo fast! I cheated yesterday by having a couple of bites of pulled pork and absolutely hated myself for it! Its so tough not "eating" & having to still prepare meals for the family. Anyways, Its out of my system now and Im good to go! We can do this! Have any of you picked up any books on weight loss surgery? I know that Im going to have to work on my head to overcome my past eating problems.

    Pre-op Diet Vent

Im just doing 4 Protein Shakes a day and am just drinking as much Water or tea as I can in a day to help curb my appetite. Today I picked up this loose tea from DavidsTea (not sure if u have one where you are), but its called "forever nuts" and OMG!!! this will get me through any craving...its seriously like an apple crumble in a cup..but with a nutty flavor...so very delicious for being zero calories and decaffinated. I guess just really going from one day to the next is the best way to go

    scared

Im also on Feb 10th and pretty nervous but excited. I think the biggest battle I will have is overcoming my addiction with food...its been there my whole life. I guess too, the fact that Im having my surgery in Mexico and that Im travelling alone has me freaked out just a bit

Yes. I was able to find everything except a chewable Multivitamin at Costco. Im drinking the premier shakes that they have there and bought sone flavorless Protein (I opted for premier brand Harmonized Protein). In the last 7 days Ive already lost almost 10 pounds...but...Im STARVING! lol

    February 2014 Mexico Sleevers!

I'm from Las Vegas, NV. It's a much closer jaunt for me, so I plan on driving down to San Diego with my husband. I can't believe that it's only a little over 4 weeks for me. Have you gotten his pre-op instructions yet? Melissa Hey Melissa, Yes I have the pre op and post op diets, but I wonder if theyre slightly different with the different coordinators?

    Sleeve 2/10.......excited

I am on myfitnesspal as solea78. Ive bought Centrum chewable multi Vitamins, chewable Calcium + Vitamin D and dissolveable B12. Ive also started taking Vitamin C as we have this terrible strain of the flu and some H1N1 in our province right now...the last thing I need is to get sick now! As for Protein shakes I think the best Ive found si far are at costco. They are mixed drinks @160 cal, but they have very little fat and sugar and are 30g of protein. Cheap too. I plan on buying a high quality flavorless Protein powder to eventually stick in all my blended crap food that Ill be drinking over the next 2 .5 minths...lol. I swear I hate that I let mysekf get to this point somedays-but Im very excited about my second chance at a healthylife.
