I'm Back With Some New Insights About Hell.

I thought this was a LapBand support site. Definitely off-topic thread.
  2. Hi: So you had a visit from the infamous "spit snake"! Yikkes! Yes, there are problems with people getting tight if they have allergies because your passages become narrower. Also, the mucus that your body makes to fight the allergies coats your passages. You may want to get a slight unfill to keep you more comfortable during allergy season. Cold liquids can bring my spit snake out. Warm liquids and the spit snake stays away. Best wishes. Sue

Bcbs Of Ma & Beth Israel Deaconess Med Ctr.

Hello: Please check out Surgical Weight Loss Specialists in Norwood, Ma. LapBand is all that they do, so they're experts with the insurances and of course with the care of their patients too. Their website is www.massweightloss.com I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Glasgow and the staff over there. Good luck! Sue

    Waiting In The Er :(

Sorry to hear about your troubles. If you are able to keep liquids down I would wait to do anything with the band slip until you see your LapBand surgeon to see what an expert thinks of your band. I've heard of slips going back into place after a rest (no Fluid in band and only fluids to eat). If the ER doc is getting pushy about your band coming out you might want to ask if they have a bariatric surgeon in their hospital that you can see. You can probably find a LapBand surgeon right on this website that is affiliated with the hospital that you are in. Take care and keep us posted. Sue
  6. Jacqui - You look incredible! Congrats.
  7. Jacqui: So glad you're happy with the results. You've always been so helpful to many of the lapband talkers. You deserve the best. Take care, and remember that resting now will give you the best healing results. Sue

    Four Hours Until Tt

Jacqui: You seem like a tough cookie. I'm guessing you'll handle the pain with ease. Keep your eye on the prize - your abdomen is going to look fabulous! Try to relax some to give your body the best chance at healing successfully. Take care and keep us posted. Sue
  9. Sarah: You should probably tell your surgeon about this. It will put your mind at ease and he'll probably have some helpful tips for you and he can rule out if there's anything serious going on. Take care and keep us posted. Sue
  10. Hi: I've been banded for more than four years. Been struggling with my band for the past six months with weight gain and being able to eat alot more than I used to. Tried the fill method with small, but frequent fills. My surgeon did a barium test a couple of weeks ago and he said he's filled me as much as he will because the stream of barium is very small below the band, so the band is tight enough. However, I can still eat way too much. He's recommending that my band be emptied and then start the fills gradually again. Has anybody done this? How does this help? Did it work for you? Please advise. I've got to do something! Thanks. Sue

    Road Trip...

    Protein Bars....

Hi: I eat them for lunch all the time. Not too many things that have 19 or 20 grams of Protein and less than 200 calories. Actually, I eat them just about a half hour before lunch time because I started walking during my lunch hour again. Trying so hard to get back on track so I can kick this 30 pounds in the &^&. Best wishes to all of us bandsters! Sue
  14. Hi: Your post doesn't mention your age. I started having hot flashes at 40 when I had a hysterectomy. Is it possible you're having your first hot flashes? Hope you feel better soon. Sue

    Zike?

Hi: Just wondering does anybody here Zike? It's kind of between a bike and a scooter/stepper. I'm thinking about getting one but the weight limit is 200 and I'm slightly over. Maybe that will be just the incentive I need. If you've ridden one, please let me know how it was. Thanks. Sue
  17. Wow! You look fabulous! Congratulations. Sue
  18. Hi: My advice is to get a spare binder if you can because then you'll always have a clean one to switch to. Also, rest is so important. You'll notice that if you overdo things you'll swell more, so be choosey about what you chose to do or not do so that you can rest more. If your surgeon offers the pain pump, take it. The pain pump was so helpful the first few days with the pain in the muscle tightening area. Best wishes to you. Take care. Sue

    Gallbladder Removal

Hi: I got my band July 2007, in March had gallbladder attack. Got gallbladder out in April 2008. Was pretty easy. One helpful tip is to have something really tight to wear over the tummy to keep it from jiggling after the gallbladder surgery. A spanx would do. I never had any bathroom issues because of my gallbladder removal. Fatigue was the only issue post surgery. Took a while for this to go away. Best wishes to you. Keep us posted. Sue
  20. I would want to know where the port would be placed. I really like where mine is because it never gets in the way. It is just below my rib cage in the middle. Best wishes to you. Sue

    Think My Stomach Is Bruised??

Hi: I think that anytime you having alot of throwing up it disturbs your muscles in your abdomen, whether you're banded or not. You should check in with your lap band doctor if you're having any difficulty at all. My surgeon tells us to call if we are throwing up for any reason. Good luck! Sue

4 More Days Until My Tt!

Katie: So one more day and it's your big day! Take care, and rest. You're in very good hands with Dr. H. Drop me a line or post when you feel up to it so that I'll know you're doing well. You already look fabulous! This is the icing on the cake. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and I know that the first couple of days are pretty uncomfortable, but it gets better each day after that. And, it's so worth it! You're very fortunate to be able to have this surgery. Keep smiling . I'll see you on the other side - the side with the flat tummies. Sue
