  1. Hey there!! I wanted to put it out there that there's been a LGBT Facebook group created for those within the community who identify as LGBT. It's in the beginning stages but offers a great place to discuss many other aspects of our lives pre and post op. Check out the link below to join us!! *Please be aware that although the group name says 'Sleevers' this is open to all forms of weight loss surgery. Hope to see you there!! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1616559311931402/
  2. Hey guys! So I was sleeved May 6th and have undergone several major surgeries and about 16 smaller procedures to correct a leak that occurred 10 days after my initial surgery. That being said I was put out of work for the last 6 months and have now returned to work as of the 7th of this month. I will gladly add that I have been, what I call, foreign object free for about a month. Currently I have lost a total of 156lbs since the date of surgery, and although physically I look good (very few stretch marks, no saggy skin, etc.) I'm having a problem with just daily stamina and exhaustion. My doctor says that along side of the fat loss, I have also lost most of my muscle mass as well. My back will start to hurt after some time being up and active due to lack of core strength, and I need some advice with this. I'm now able to eat soft foods after having been on NPO (no food or drink by mouth) for almost 6 months. So I'm trying to be mindful as to what I'm eating and reminding myself to eat as well. But it doesn't seem to be helping too much. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks guys!!

    Shoulder Pain... Gas?

Thanks all!! I've been up and walking routinely since the day after surgery. I hope this goes away soon!!
  6. Hi everyone!! So I officially am now 4 days post-op. Most all of my pain is gone except a sharp pain in my upper left chest/shoulder area. I've had it since surgery. My support group members say that gas can form just about anywhere, even in that area. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem, or if there was any advise on how to get rid of it. Please advise, ????
  7. Hello all!! I am 4 days post-op and want to get off the drugs they sent me home with. I've been taking pills just fine since I left the hospital. Any kind of liquid pain stuff made me vomit. So I know we can take Tylenol, I was just wondering how much. I have the 500mg stuff from costco in the house. Any suggestions?
  8. So I had surgery Wednesday and came home today. I was going to drink a protein shake so I did. The first couple sips went down well with no problems. I took one sip and realized that I was going to throw up. It was yellowish and very chemical tasting. I know an over share but I wanted to know if that is semi-normal? Please advise

    Protein Shakes...

Hello All!! I am starting my 2 week pre-op diet and trying to find what powders work best and taste best. I've tried a whole bunch of samples like the nectar drinks, but i think i'm going to stick with the basics like chocolate and vanilla. Do the flavorless powders work well? Please help... This is starting to get a bit nerve racking
