    Crossfit

@@yescobar - as long as your dr has cleared you for intense exercise then I would say yes. Along with crossfit or any strength training program make sure you are getting in cardio - walking/jogging/biking etc.
  2. The first time I tried eggs after surgery, I was about 3 weeks post op. Oh my goodness - they made me SO sick!! Horrible. Took me a few more weeks to try eggs again. Almost 5 months out now and still not a huge fan of whole eggs, but egg whites seem to sit better, so that's what I stick with. Take it easy on yourself and don't rush foods. Be kind to your tiny tummy! Best of luck!
  3. Walked 2 miles with hubby last night. :)

  4. Husbands working lots of OT which is rearranging my workout schedule. Have to figure this out quick!

I thought I missed you on this morning's zombie run! My son started school last week and that's thrown off my schedule, too, because I normally get up a little after 5 on MWF and then jump in the shower at 6:00 to be ready to leave for work at 6:45. Well, now he needs the bathroom at 6, so I'd have to run around 4:30 and shower and be out of the bathroom by 6. I'm just not sure I can get up at 4:30 -- isn't that still technically nighttime??? lol

You can figure it out... you're committed to this, right?

Yeah he is now going in an hour earlier than normal and has to stay an hour later than normal. So if I go to the gym in the morning, I would have to get up at 4:30 (5am is tough enough). And I am going to miss the zumba classes in the afternoon too. :( UGH! We only have 1 car currently and this is the time I reallllly wish we had 2. I'm going to try and get to the gym after work or go for a walk. If I can drag my butt outta bed at 4:45 - I might go in the morning.

Totally committed! One way or another I WILL get my activity in. :D I am SOOO close to being in ONEderland... I can't stop! :)

  5. Added a bunch of before pics! Will be adding "During" pics later. :)

      Zoey716

I don't have a trainer yet. I do cardio 4-5 days a week (walk, jog, elliptical etc) , and I do strength training at least 3-4 days a week. I have a decent knowledge of health and fitness (I have a degree in Health and Wellness), so I am good with my own routine currently. I may think about hiring a trainer in the next few months to help tone up some areas.

      Ginger Snaps

That's awesome! I'm signed up for my first 5k on September 27th... I'm on week 4 of a couch to 5K program. My goal is to try to run most of it. I'm also registered for another one 5 weeks later on November 1st where the goal is to run all of it. Just keep training and moving and you'll make it!

    2. Zoey716

      Zoey716

Not sure how much running I'll get in. I haven't started the couch to 5k yet. When ever I jog I get shin splints (always have). Hoping with the weight loss it wont happen as much or it will get better. I'll jog some of the race (the down hill sections...lol). Hoping to be up to running a 5k by next spring, I belong to a run club that continues running in the winter at an inside track, so i'll be able to train all winter. :)

    3. Ginger Snaps

      Ginger Snaps

I was afraid to start the C25K myself... I had tried it before and always had to stop with hip pain and shin splints. But, after losing about 30 pounds I decided to give it a try. It's really easy the first week or two... just running 15 second intervals here and there and gradually building up. I've been pleasantly surprised I've been able to keep up and have very little pain (sometimes soreness in my hip that's always sore).

But -- if walking it quickly is a challenge for you and that's where you're at -- that's great! Keep pushing and challenging yourself and you can get anywhere you want to go!

  25. Good morning @@starspring & @@ijones67 - I have been exercising quite a bit. I'm at the gym or out walking/jogging 4-5 times a week. Doing a lot of cardio, but also a lot of weight training as weight training burns more calories longer. I'll be doing the Biggest Loser race this upcoming Sunday and am super excited about that. I'll be walking most of it, but will jog part. Protein from meat has been good. I haven't had beef since surgery, so I'm not sure how my tummy would handle it. Fruits and veggies are just fine with me - I have a salad every day - for lunch or dinner (or both) with a protein. I have very little bread as it fills me up to quickly, and since we take in so few calories as it is, I'd rather have quality calories.
