  1. I have also been told the same and my mother is a nurse. My incisions itched also. Don't scratch the incision itself but around them. Also don't touch! Hands are filthy with bad bacteria! You don't want any infections! Good luck hon!
  2. That's all my Dr. expects me to lose a week, 1-2 pounds. I guess I'm a slow loser also! Slow and steady wins the race! And at least we're losing! Thank God!
  3. I found standing for a long time made me hurt. Also, 2 weeks out I was still pretty tired. I don't think I could have handled work. I hope it's a desk job. Everyone is different though! Good luck. :-)
  4. What are the symptoms of this illness?
  5. Are we aloud to take pro biotics to help us be "regular"? (To go number 2 daily)
  6. My doctor also approved me after 6 weeks. My motto is " try it, if it hurts wait another cpl weeks. " I'll be six weeks Monday and plan to up my work out by including core exercise and moderate weights. I'm excited! Lol!
  7. Call your doc and let him/her know. Maybe they can prescribe you a liquid pain med. Best of luck! Hang in there, things do get better. :-)
  8. I use omeprazole aka prilosec. It is a God send! I take it daily and never have problems with heartburn. Best of luck!
  9. Pinterest has tons of detox recipes. :-)
  10. I agree! I take it (omeprazole) daily and never have heartburn.
  11. When I'm working out and take a gulp it hurts a little but makes me feel "pukey" for lack of a better word. I'll fill my mouth with water and swallow half, wait a few seconds and swallow the rest. I find that helps me.
  12. Since it's an antibiotic did insurance cover it? Or is it considered "cosmetic"?
  13. Clear is okay but if it's yellow or green or bloody, or if it smells it is most likely infected. If the doctor is not concerned I would not worry about it. Just keep it clean like your doctor said and keep an eye on it. Good luck hon :-)
  14. Thank you for the information Princess. I will definitely check into those books. :-)
  15. (TMI ALERT) I accidentally drank with a meal when I started on solid foods and it made me have diarhea about 10 minutes later. Not pleasant.
  16. Also experienced pain in my shoulders after surgery. The best thing for me to do was to get up and walk around to get the gas to move from my shoulder. I know that it is uncomfortable but it will get better in a few days just make sure to move. Feel better soon! Take care.
  17. Oh thank goodness! Im not the only one! Im 33 and have acne on my face like I was 14 going through puberty! I hate it! My mom says because when I work out I sweat a lot but I wash my face! And not everyone who works out and sweats has acne. Maybe it's from some hormonal crap from surgery . Please let me know if you come up with an answer and a cheap solution. Thank you :-) Before surgery I had clear skin now it's awful! Please HELP!! Do all of you also work out? And sweat buckets?
  18. I thought I would just make a specific place for us ,who eat during our boredom to chat.... Why do you suppose we eat when we're bored? Let's get some ideas flowing here :-)
  19. I just want to dance hip hop.
  20. You guys are so great. I love my bariatric pal support group. (((Hugs)))
  21. My Dr said to just concentrate on your Water intake at first and gradually move to your Protein shake. You're still healing inside. Everything is swollen and in shock. Just give it a little more time. Until then keep on sipping!
  22. Hey guys, I'll be 5 weeks out this Monday. The first week was the worse for me. I think the anxiety is partly from the anesthesia. Don't let it mess with your head. It helps to keep your mind and body active do just walk around the block when you feel that way. Put your ear buds in and just go. The devils playground is our boredom. Stay busy! Body, soul, and mind. Things get better. Just give it a little more time. You are not alone in this. Take care :-)
  23. What is that app you use to track your distance and time? It does feel great to get up and move! Congrats! Keep up the good work!
  24. Thanks for all of the positive feedback everyone. I did an hour of cardio today. Feeling a little better. I've also only had liquid today to make up for all the calories I consumed last night. I will pick myself up and dust myself off and learn from my mistake. God bless you all for your support.
