  1. Hi Erica. I had surgery June 11th, no issues and I am doing pretty well on all solid food too. Mainly eating eggs, tuna, canned chicken etc. Did have a hamburger patty the other night. Well a 1/4 of one. I ate it for 3 meals. I have tried to find the Facebook page doing a search and can't find it. Has it been deleted? I am down 26 lbs total including pre-op diet!! Best thing I have done for myself!! Good Luck to everyone!

    The page is still active

  2. That's crazy that you're hungry. I don't think I will ever be hungry again! I constantly feel full! I have to force myself to eat a couple bites of yogurt at mealtimes.

I literally have no hunger,in fact I have to set alarms to remind myself to eat!

  3. I did mention my wraps and gave my email address, but I wish they would have just warned me or deleted my post.... I appreciate you checking and I have tried to contact them and received no response... Maybe I messed up and I am just expecting too much in return.... I still hate how all this went down but I do thank you for checking into it!!

I let them know :). I'm not an admin but I did make a post.

  4. I guess I have been deleted from the page.... She mentioned she was appointing new administrators and maybe they cleaned house.... I don't know! I thoroughly enjoyed the page.... We were all recovering together and motivating and encouraging each other.... Don't know what happened but it makes me sad!! Oh well..... :-(

No one was deleted unless you did advertisements for wraps and such. I will see if I can find out what happened.

  5. Hi Jennifer,

You are awesome. I still have some pain, so better living through chemistry for me! Things are going well. Surgery was a breeze, as was time in the hospital. I stayed 2 days, just to be safe. I'm delighted to be home with my son...he's a huge help! So is his nanny, when she

hethre. My doc limited me to 4 ounces per hour of fluids....with the 30/30/30 for breakfast, lunch and dinner, it's impossible to get my fluids and Proteins in. I want to sip more, but am afraid I'll stretch my tummy out! What's your intake per hour? Congrats on doing so well! Best, Dawn

Fluids def won't stretch your tummy out :

). Make sure to sip SIP sip

Please call your doctor and ask! I had gas pain the first 4-5 days but it got to where it hurt to breathe deep because there was so much pressure in my chest. He sent me to the ER and turns out I had pneumonia. Chest pain or shortness of breath is also a symptom of a blood clot in the lung. I kept thinking mine was just gas pressure but it was more. Ended up in the hospital on IV antibiotics over the weekend and feeling a lot better now.

I also felt the same way and had pneumonia as well. I will say,gas pains hurt so bad!! I woke up from surgery with my shoulder killing me :(

  7. Have so much emotion right now! I am excited that I go in for surgery on the 17th of June.. Yes nervous too. My insurance has approved the procedure. But more importantly I am so very sad that my daughter received a denial letter today stating her insurance will not cover the sleeve surgery. I cannot express how disappointed we are at this moment. We started this process with hopes of going through this journey together. Ultimately, the last and final option for her is to self pay and head to Mexico. I know there are good surgeons there, but we really wanted to stay closer to home in case there would be any complications and of course there are worries of how any complications would be paid for since this will now be seen as elective surgery. Well, no choice about that now. We must just dry our tears and move on to the next step. I know many of you on this site have pursued the self pay route in Mexico and I have followed those threads closely. Anything you can add here will help me bring all this data together and help us make our final decision on the dr/hospital. To summarize...

    1. Why did you select your surgeon specifically when there are so many to choose from?

    2. What was your experience with the coordinator and customer service in setting up your surgery. Did they pick you up in the US and take you into Mexico and directly to the hospital/hotel?

    3. How long did you stay in the hospital and in Mexico

    4. What steps did your dr do to check for leaks?

    5. How was the followup after surgery?

I know I am asking a lot from all of you who have had the surgery in Mexico, and cannot tell you how much I appreciate your feedback. Personal recommendations carry much more weight then does a flashy advertisement or a well versed spin from a savvy coordinator.

The information I have received on this site has been valuable in helping my daughter and I make the decision to have WLS. Now your input here will help me bring this journey to the other side to POST OP for both me and her! Thank you!

You can do a peer to peer review. Don't give up without a fight!:)

  8. How long had it been since your surgery? My surgery is tomorrow. I am used to some pretty intense strength and cardio workouts. They are telling me 3 to 4 weeks before I can go back. I just don't want to wait that long.

As for your issue do you eat before you go. Protein is your best friend when trying to keep your blood sugar stable. Have you tried drinking a shake before your workout?

My surgery is also tomorrow. I am going to lightly hit the gym week 3 and go from there :)

  9. Good luck to all you Monday ladies. I had surgery las Monday at 5 (surgeons got really backed up) and I went home Wednesday. Very little pain just a lot of chest pressure. Friday morning was very short of breath so my doc sent me to the ER. I have pneumonia and have been back in the hospital since Friday. May go home later tonight or tomorrow if all goes well

Still very little pain just the chest pressure. Be SURE you get out of bed and walk and move around the room. Sit in the chair when you can. I got sent to the cardiac floor because there was no room on the bariatric floor. The nurses kept telling me to stay in bed. Would only let me go to the bathroom I am convinced (and so is my surgeon) that this could have been prevented,

So get up and move. I hope you have just as great an experience as I've had minus the bump in the road,

I hope you get to feeling better soon!

  10. I am 10 days post surgery after open gastric bypass. Family do not know I have had the surgery and today at a family mean I ate a couple of things I shouldn't. Not large amounts but I shouldn't eat it. Since then I have been in a agony. It's been nearly 5 hours. Having reflux, serious pain, have I busted something? I'm so stupid and scared. I didn't have reflux prior to this.

I hope you are feeling ok :(
