  1. I'm 5'6" surgury weight 220# on 1-3-13

My lowest weight was by 8-1-13 at 148#

    Steady by 1-1-14 at 150-155#

    Gaining during 2015 up to 170# as of today 11-2015. Bad food choices.little exercise...not enough Water.< /p>

Can't seem to get back on track. Feeling worthless...and such a failure. I know the process worked...I failed myself.

  2. Can't lose this last 20#. I was sleeved on January 2014. At 225#

Today at 1yr and 9 months.. I hold at 162-165.# for the past 9 months.

I'm 5'6" tall and Will be 62 yrs in February 2016.

I still have trouble digesting solid foods and go for Soups and softer foods.

Does anyone else have trouble with solids even after a year or Two?

  3. I total understand I'm freaking out too. I was 5 weeks post op and went to see my surgeon he told me I hadn't lost enough weight.

    SW 285

    Weight at 5 wks 265

    Current Weight 257

He told me I have to lose 20 lbs in the next 5 wks :(

My scale hasn't moved in a wk. I am walking as much as I can, I have 15 mth old I chase around all day.

I hate that he is making me feel like I'm a failure already.

I don't agree that you are expected to drop an exact amount in a specific time...that is just asking for stress. You work the plan..stay away.from slider foods..and you will be fine.

Relax and enjoy your successes !!

  4. I am becoming more and more convinced that I am doing something wrong. I do not feel that I have lost enough weight. My sleeve was 1/20 and I have only lost 37 lbs It has been 2+ months. I see where others have lost that much in the first month!

I am very stressed about this and am not sure what to do. I just hit send on an email to the NP at my surgeon's office and anxiously wait for her reply (which might take several days and before anyone says it, I know if it Sunday and she is not working). I am loosing pounds and have lost inches, but I am afraid it should be more. I am watching everything I eat and doing cardio for 30 minutes 5 times a week.

I am on several medications for Lupus and Fibromyalgia and they cause weight gain (one of the many reasons I am hear now and could not loose). Could that be why I am not loosing as much? Am I doing something wrong?

I know that no one can give me an exact answer to my question, but I could really use some support. Thanks y'all!

I was.sleeved 1/4/14 lost 20# The first month and about 7# the second month. Now into week 12 I'm down a total of 40# . Stop stressing about the scale. You will have stalls and slow weeks...your body needs time to adjust to your losses. Just do what your supposed to be doing. And keep away from the slidder foods. Your doing great!

  5. Dating looking to date a good wls single man

You interested? You s good man?

I hope you are doing well. Gastric bypass surgery is the best! Hopefully I will meet that special good guy.

I think there is a wls dating site..not sure the name...someone might have run across it and share.

I think that would be a good dating partner...both would understand the trials we go through ... and also not be so self concious.

  6. Day 2 put oil in mouth and almost lost my Cookies....now that the oil is dissolved I am okay again...20 min. And I will feel that fresh breath and clean teeth feeling like yesterday.....To bad about the gagging...Going to continue for 2 weeks just to see if there is a difference...uggggggggg

I only use a teaspoon amount of coconut oil...can't handle a tablespoon without gagging.

  7. Dry mouth and bad breath both seem to be a part of the early days!! Ketosis is the cause of bad breath. Ice chips help with dry mouth, SF mints, if nothing else, temporarily disguise the bad breath!!

Have you heard of oil pulling? Google it. You will be amazed with the benefits.

  8. Usually it's after I haven't eaten in a while like when I get off work etc

When i wait to long to eat...i am also guilty of bites too big or to many bites not well chewed and to taken to fast.

I am only into my 12th week and its a learning curve...but well worth it. Trying to learn to take a bite or two every couple of hours helps. But i still can't sit for 30 to 40 minutes and make a " meal" last...i don't have am attention span that long! LOL.

  9. lovinglife28....I had my surgery on Jan 14, 2014, so I'm still pretty new at this. Weight is coming off, slow but still losing and better than I have ever done on my own. I'm not loving my sleeve yet, but I'm sure that will come more in time. Right now I'm still trying to recover and learn how to eat with my sleeve. It's a learning process, but I have faith that it will do like it's supposed to as long as I follow the plan. I see that your planning on having surgery soon. Best of luck to you.

My sleeve was done 1/4/14 down 40# at week 11. From sz.18 to 14 my goal is size 10 bmi 22.0 i live in eldon Mo.

  10. Hey all.

Sharing a small milestone on my WLS journey - hit one hundred pounds down today in a bit over 3 months since surgery. Have dropped in pant sizes from 58's to 46's over that period.

Sadly, still have quite a long way to go and a bit uncertain I'll make it since I have hit a couple stalls over the last 20 pounds or so.

But still felt it was a worthy moment to share.

    Thanks for listening. :)

Congratulating you on you awesome accomplishment . Don't forget that even when you stall...you will be losing inches. !!

  11. Ok, so maybe I’m a tad off, but I am still CELEBRATING! I had VSG with Dr. Ramos Kelly in Tijuana, Mexico a little over 2 weeks ago on the 4th of March. Last night I was having my dinner and it seemed like I was never going to get full. Now, mind you, at the present time, ‘never getting full’ means I’m almost headed to ¾ of a cup of Soup. I felt like I could just keep eating. I was bummed because my first thought was “This isn’t working”. Yesterday, I also thought about the concept that some call sliming when they eat too much. I was proud that I had not performed that little maneuver, but at the same time, a little bit bummed because it also made me thing “This isn’t working”. Read, I WANT TO SLIME LIKE ALL THE OTHER KIDS!

Now, you may be asking yourself, “Jackarae, just what are you CELEBRATING”?. Well I will tell you, today, I got really adventurous and tried to eat something new and not only was I only able to eat a little over half of what I had doled out, it actually tore me up and made me so stinkin’ uncomfortable that I thought I was gonna die, I mean Roseanne Roseannadanna thought.I.was.gonna.die! AND, guess what, guess what, I also SLIMED! Now I’m smiling through the pain, I know this is gonna work and it’s making me happy. Maybe I’m some kind of sick ticket, but remember, It’s the little things in life that make it worthwhile!

    Jackarae

He's Got the Whole World, In His Hands....

Your funny. We can hold more liguids ... as they tend to go right through us...its the solids and pureed foods thay will get you if you don't take time between bites and chew very well before swallowing.

  14. I'm looking for Sleevers that started their journey at 5'6" tall and weighing between 225-235 range. Let's hear your monthly totals please. I'm 54 years old and was sleeved on Jan. 21,2013. At 4 weeks post op I had lost 16 pounds, 216.. Started at 232, I've been toggling between 217 and 216 for about 10 days now.

  15. No complications, but a few questions for the veterans:

Struggling allot with fatigue. Is this common?

Stomach feels upset most of the time. Only when I just eat does it feel better. Normal?

At what point did you start taking meds without crushing?

Nausea - I still have 2-3 times a day (usually in the evening) where I get extremely nausiated. Anyone else experience this and at what point did the nausea go away?

Tx in advance 4 your feedback!

I take an acid reducer daily. Our tummy are too small for the acid it produces. Ask your doctor for suggestions on what to take how much and how often.

  16. help !! monday i will be 3 weeks out ! i lost 15 lbs and was so happy. this week was bad i think i had a bug i was in the bathroom every time i ate or drank anything i am finally feeling better and gained 5 lbs back ?? whats wrong. please help super depressed

Try to relax. Your body is working hard to adjust itself to thr new tummy. Just forget the scale snd just take your measurements. Concentrate on getting your Water and Proteins in for each day.

  17. I have a question about my incisions. Some of them are healing nicely. I have 2 though that the strips fell off and they are open and basically just a hole. Is that normal? It has me concerned. We are keeping it covered and putting an ointment on it. What do you think? Thanks!

I had the same worry with one if mine..like a hole..but not deep. I was directed by my doctor to use. antibacterial spray..keep it loosly covered and it will heal. It did. Just shiw your doctor and follow directions.
