    Stages of gastricbypass

Mony, I will say this.. our overeating is an addictive action. After surgery panic is normal, depression, regrets, but then as the addiction is overcome (for me it took 5 wks) we finally stop living to eat.. we stop thinking about it constantly, we start thinking like a normal person without this addiction. . Good luck.. we are all in this together and can beat this

    New Pain

Yes several of us had it and it lasted 2-3 weeks and in your same time frame. We mostly blame it on the tissue healing along with your intestines having bowel in that area. As it moves it hurts your surgical tissue. Mine was so bad I cried and almost went to ER.

Not sure if you tried this but I made slow cooked pinto beans and they went down good. Its the closest thing to solid I have had at 6 wks out
  11. Your right. Our bodies are on to us! It's trying to maintain! Try a few days of Protein drinks (2 ) and crackers only, that stopped my stall

    Ulcer

My husband is post op 1 yr 3 months. He lost 90lbs and is happy with his 215 weight. I just want to share some info. Saturday he puked blood.. (didn't tell me) Sunday, Monday, Tuesday he passed blood.. and emailed me from work to ask me to make him a doc appointment .. then put a PS that he didn't tell me but had been passing blood! So I call doc, doc says "if we ever, and I mean ever puke or pass blood go to ER NOW!! so I leave the house, pick him up from work and take him to the hospital.. that was 3 days ago.. he is still in the hospital. After a scope they show a large ulcer on his incision in his pouch.. still bleeding. They still are considering a transfusion due to so much blood lost.. he is ok.. on liquids and meds and being well taken care off.. My point of this thread is to say that if you ever see black stool, or red anywhere, please take care. If he had gone the first day im sure he would be home by now and not had such a hard recovery.

    Ulcer

You need to have a scope! You should not be passing that. His fecal was black with stuff floating away from the solids. . He had some red fecal as well.
  15. Try apple sauce. That's all I am allowed to have. I think they say no fruit due to sugar content!

    Morning Sickness

just to add, I am now 6 wks out and do not tolerate anything but protein drinks, crackers and bean dips, very little soup feels right and if I try a soft texture it hurts, so your not alone, don't panic.... let your pouch get used to foods slowly.. some people have a doctor that introduce stuff quickly and that's ok, I just have a doc that is very slow. He gave me my 6wk post op diet yesterday.. it still only added dry cooked beans, PB, peas (dry cooked), eggs, potatoes, and cheese, NOTHING else. LOL but like I said I cant even eat that.. so hang in there darling!!
  17. I went back to doctor today, 6 wk post op check up.. all is good but when she gave me my new diet I noticed I am supposed to be getting 1200 mg calcium citrate.. I had ordered the Celebrate ones and took 1 a day.. I got to reading on the package and see 1 only gives you 250 mg.. now I know they don't want me to take 5 a day?? so can anyone tell me what they take and do they have to get 1200mg?
  18. Last night at 6on I decided to have a protein drink for dinner and get on the bed for a movie since hubby is out of town. I mixed my unjury and I guess I rushed it.. I spent an hour between passing out, hot flash, cold flash, nausea, puking. . Never puked, never fainted but I was better off dead!!

    The Slow Losers Thread

I wish you lived near me. We feel the same. . I keep saying" I wasn't that big, why did I do this" I miss everything. I don't drink, smoke, eat. I used to be bubbly. . Now I'm boring lol
  23. I wasn't nervous at all either. I wanted to get it done and move forward

    When does the pain stop?

I'm 6 wks out and it just stopped. Week 3-6 my bowls effected my left side so bad. Your intestines run right through that area and hurt the healing incisions. It will get better
