Dammit I thought I had made it.....

I can't imagine the continuous struggle you have with this illness. I understand you have tackled it and that's awesome. So let me say now how very sorry I am you have this added struggle to your lifeline. With that said, I will tell you after my lap band last year I hit a similar depression about 2 wks out, doc said blame it on the meds from surgery. Not only your physical body goes through this but your mental as well.. we also lose our best friend, our crutch of a lifetime. ..food...variety...overeating. .snacking.. the ability to just grab and munch.. so pat yourself on the back and realize how strong you have been not how weak you are.. our cup is half full, not half empty! Good luck

    Comfortable clothing

I wore satin pants, t-shirt, slippers, long house coat, no undies. Was able to wear it back. You will need socks too. You will not won't to wear undies because they might hit your incision

    Post-Op January 2014 Losers Club!

I am 4 days post op. Got home yesterday. Doc keeps his peeps on clear liquid for 2 wks. I had broth for lunch and juice after. I don't think I can do 20 min walk but I do go sit out by the pool in the sun. Weather was nice here in Shreveport today. I am feeling ok, wasn't too good this morning with nausea and gas but better now. I think if I stay off pain liquid I'm better off

    December post ops

What I am reading is simple, overeating is an addiction. The surgery is only the beginning. The depression comes on after surgery and before weight loss or at least before we are satisfied with our accomplishment.. eating now will be so much more enjoyable. This is my second attack at this, my first was lap band. I watched my husband do gastric and become beautiful in 8 months so I went on to this second surgery.

    where is january peeps?

I came home yesterday too. My surgery was 1/9 as well. My left side is very bad and I keep getting out of bed and then back to bed. My liquid pain meds don't help much. I am excited to see someone with my same date! Lucky you, you get a protein drink! I'm on clear liquids til the 20th. Then full liquid for another 2 wks. How is your pain?

    just began the journey

    Outstanding story! I needed that!
  10. I am 45 and started having trouble with weight after having my kids. I finally bit the bullet and at 220 5'1" had lap band on sept 2012, by sept 2013 i was at 175 but struggling not to start gaining weight back. I was tired of working out and still being what i considered fat. So in Dec i had my band removed and yesterday i had gastric. In the months i had got back to 190 and i knew i wasnt going to be successful with the band.. so i had to try again. I fell sellfish sometimes on what im putting myself through just to be thin, then i remind myself it was for my health as well. Today i fell sore and yuk but i know it will pass. I keep reminding myself how much better life will be.. hope to hear some of yalls stories, it helps me right now

    where is january peeps?

I'm scared to try to swallow a cap or pill yet. My doc is very strict, much more than most I read on here. I am on clear liquids for 2 weeks, then full liquid for 2 wks. No pills at all.

I have an addiction I would like to share. I play spaces on pogo.com. it's a game were you actually play with 3 other real people on a forum and you get scores and colors for how good you are. That and a cup of coffee can be very enjoyable for the bored folks out there. Being 4 days post op I don't feel good enough yet to get back at it but y'all might love it!
