I am 4 years out now, but I have been drinking beer since about 2 years post OP. It makes me burp a lot, but I find it a much better option than liqour as that goes down way too quickly. I cant drink and eat, but I usually eat before or after. Draft beer is def less carbonated. I think bottles are the worst. I havent had any issues with it at all and I drink a couple beers maybe 1-2 nights a week.

Don't rush it! The downfall of me losing quickly is a higher chance of loose skin, so that is my new worry. I honestly didn't believe my doctor when he said I would be anywhere near this size. I am now 132, 4 lbs away from goal, and wear a size 6 in pants. Never in my life have I seen those numbers. And @@surrey1987, good luck and keep us posted! If you have any questions or anything ,feel free to message me

I brought slippers, a robe, a book, my phone, and a few other miscellaneous things. I only used the robe. And I didn't wear a bra but to be honest at that point, I didn't care what I looked like.

As a college student I had to open an eBay store to sell my old clothes (I'm dropping sizes fast and only wear things a couple times before I'm on to a lower size) so that I can afford to buy new clothes that fit.
When you can buy shoes a size smaller because you no longer have fat feet.
When the people you work with are concerned that you might get too small. This one is baffling for me because I have always been heavy.
When you think your ring size 7 will fit and realize that after getting sized you are a size 4.5.
Oh the many joys of all this I love it!

Sleeved 6/26
SW: 202
I am currently weighing in at 177. That was definitely the good news of my appointment today after having an allergic reaction to the steri-strip tape. Even through all my struggles, seeing numbers like that on the scale after not seeing them for many years makes me so thankful that I had the surgery

HW: 226
Before pre-op diet- 202
Pre-op- 192
Weight as of yesterday: 180.5
I was sleeved 2/26. I am having such a hard time getting in the fluids and drinking Protein shakes! I still have another whole week of liquids too! Oh boy! Other than that I am feeling pretty good today. how are all the other June sleepers doing?!

I am 5 days post-op and between my pre-op diet and my surgery, I have lost 21 lbs. in 3 weeks. I am finally starting to feel like this was worth it. I had a few days wondering if this was a good choice to make at 23, but I have come to realize that I need this. My future depends on this. I am struggling with Fluid intake, but trying to stay positive and do my best!

I have also been overweight my entire life, but have tried diet after diet, eat pretty healthy, and stay active. I'm 23 and about to get the surgery in June. I have PCOS and this surgery is like my last hope to succeed at being healthy on the outside. Good luck!

This was inspiring. Makes me truly believe this surgery is the best choice I will make. Thank you! And congratulations!

I'm 23 and have a date set in June to get sleeved. I am so nervous but excited at the same time! It's nice to know other people my age have done this!

Hey I added you in Instagram and I saw you recently posted that you had lost some weight. Congratulations! Is that from the surgery?

Sleevesup, I am hoping to do mine in May or June as well! Keep me posted on the process and how it's going! Good luck!

Thank you mcbutterpants. It's good to hear a successful outcome! How are things going now? I recently picked a surgery center and my endocrinologist is writing my recommendation letter so nervous but so excited!

You are very close to my age, weight, and height. I am 23, 5'1, and weigh about 200lbs. I am just starting the process of being referred to a bariatric specialist. Good luck on your journey and keep us posted!

My endocrinologist recommended it to me and my PCP confirmed that she thought it was probably my best option. I have done a ton of research and no matter how much I read and look into I haven't found many people with negative stories. I have also been at that "maybe this is just me" stage, and really for me its not about looks, its about health. I want to have kids one day without taking medicine just to possibly conceive. Thank you for the post! Congratulations on your weight loss and good luck with your journey!

I am currently 23 years old and have been struggling with my weight for as long as I can remember and my PCOS since I was 13 (although I wasn't diagnosed until 17, looking back I see the signs). I weight approximately 200 lbs. and I am 5'1. I have tried metformin, calorie counting, low carb, no carb, paleo, salad diets, fad diets, Victoza, the gym for 2 hours daily, you name it. Even with all of the things I have tried I can not go below 185. I also suffer from acid reflux and erosive gastritis. I am very nervous, but I think I am making the right choice. Anyone else have similar experiences or advice? THANK YOU!
Can I ever again have a beer?

Oh and my stomach has not stretched either as I still only eat about 4 ounces, maybe 5 or 6 if it is softer food, but that is usually not likely
