  1. I am 4 years out now, but I have been drinking beer since about 2 years post OP. It makes me burp a lot, but I find it a much better option than liqour as that goes down way too quickly. I cant drink and eat, but I usually eat before or after. Draft beer is def less carbonated. I think bottles are the worst. I havent had any issues with it at all and I drink a couple beers maybe 1-2 nights a week.

  2. Don't rush it! The downfall of me losing quickly is a higher chance of loose skin, so that is my new worry. I honestly didn't believe my doctor when he said I would be anywhere near this size. I am now 132, 4 lbs away from goal, and wear a size 6 in pants. Never in my life have I seen those numbers. And @@surrey1987, good luck and keep us posted! If you have any questions or anything ,feel free to message me :)

  3. As a college student I had to open an eBay store to sell my old clothes (I'm dropping sizes fast and only wear things a couple times before I'm on to a lower size) so that I can afford to buy new clothes that fit.

When you can buy shoes a size smaller because you no longer have fat feet.

When the people you work with are concerned that you might get too small. This one is baffling for me because I have always been heavy.

When you think your ring size 7 will fit and realize that after getting sized you are a size 4.5.

Oh the many joys of all this :) I love it!

I am currently weighing in at 177. That was definitely the good news of my appointment today after having an allergic reaction to the steri-strip tape. Even through all my struggles, seeing numbers like that on the scale after not seeing them for many years makes me so thankful that I had the surgery :)

  5. I am 5 days post-op and between my pre-op diet and my surgery, I have lost 21 lbs. in 3 weeks. I am finally starting to feel like this was worth it. I had a few days wondering if this was a good choice to make at 23, but I have come to realize that I need this. My future depends on this. I am struggling with Fluid intake, but trying to stay positive and do my best! :)

  6. My endocrinologist recommended it to me and my PCP confirmed that she thought it was probably my best option. I have done a ton of research and no matter how much I read and look into I haven't found many people with negative stories. I have also been at that "maybe this is just me" stage, and really for me its not about looks, its about health. I want to have kids one day without taking medicine just to possibly conceive. Thank you for the post! Congratulations on your weight loss and good luck with your journey! :)

  7. I am currently 23 years old and have been struggling with my weight for as long as I can remember and my PCOS since I was 13 (although I wasn't diagnosed until 17, looking back I see the signs). I weight approximately 200 lbs. and I am 5'1. I have tried metformin, calorie counting, low carb, no carb, paleo, salad diets, fad diets, Victoza, the gym for 2 hours daily, you name it. Even with all of the things I have tried I can not go below 185. I also suffer from acid reflux and erosive gastritis. I am very nervous, but I think I am making the right choice. Anyone else have similar experiences or advice? THANK YOU! :)
