    Any Apple watch users?

I love my Apple watch. If for nothing else it's intoxicating to see how many steps I've taken at the end of the day. My highest has been 22,537. My daily average is about 16,000. Didn't think to set reminders to take my vitamins. I'm so doing that. Good suggestion.

    Today's the day!!!!

Just started back on this site for quite a while and came across your story. So glad your doing better. I'm scheduled to have my surgery done at Emory as well. Looking back is there anything you would have done differently and are you happy with your surgeon?
  4. My program has a $600 program fee that isn't billable to insurance it's just a total out of pocket fee. My surgeons coordinator states it covers the nutritionist and lifetime group membership. Does anyone else have such a fee and if so how much?
  5. Searching for a nice medical alert bracelet. I've been reading it's a good idea for those of us whose has WLS. Has anyone purchased one for WLS and if so what info did u display? I'm considering: First & last name VSG 4/14/14 No Blind NG No NSAIDS Surgeon or PCP contact info

Happy BDay Hun! That's awesome congrats to u. Ur doing great ????????????????????
  7. I understand how ur feeling I'm 3 weeks post op and I'm down 13lbs. At first I started getting down about it then i thought to myself this is a journey not a race. I have to embrace the good times and the bad. No other fad diet has provided this 8 or 13lbs of weight loss for me and left me feeling so great. Have I lost in large numbers?? Yes I have on Adkins diet but I didn't feel great like I do now my hair was was dry and brittle and with my critical carb count being so low on Adkins I had very little energy to work out. Trust me follow ur program work ur sleeve/tool get ur exercise in even just walking and the weight WILL come off. Hang in there u r actually doing fantastic.

  12. This has been a long tedious journey but so worth every time I have wanted to pull my hair out or kick the snot out of someone for another disappointment or set back. My emotions are all over the place from being over the top with excitement to be scared out if my mind. I'm so glad I found this forum as I've made some really great friends here and the ongoing support is fantastic. Thanks for sharing your WLS journeys with me and allowing me to share mines this far with you. you all are the greatest!

    April 14th!

Hello everyone. Daughter and I were sleeved on the 14th. First 3-4 days was really rough but feeling pretty normal these days. Was working from home but physically went into the office on Tuesday and boy did I feel a difference then peddling around at home at my own pace. We did a nice family walk today but for some reason I felt excessively tired and drained. Didn't get much in today in terms of food maybe that was the culprit but all in all I'm happy we embarked on this VSG journey. This new tiny tummy took some getting use to and I'm still learning to use it. It's like 3 bites and I'm stuffed. Hope everyone is doing well.

    Hardest thing for you?

Tomorrow makes 2 weeks for me but hands down waiting the 30 minutes to drink after eating has been the hardest. I am adjusting to the change and knew it would be challenging but my daughter and I both r doing it. Hate it but definitely doing what I gotta do. Head hunger was a doozie as well but after the ah ha moment and figuring out that's what was going on I've been redirecting myself.
  15. Being sleeved Monday and I'm happy as heck!! Liquid diet hell was horrible but as of this morning I'm down 14lbs from start of liquid diet. Thanks everyone for all of ur support it was a big help. I'm so ready to join everyone else on the losers bench yayyyyyyyy....

What to being to the hospital

Just had surgery 4/14 and trust me u will not need a lot. Here's what I took Pajamas Slippers Change of clothes to wear home Lip balm Toiletries Brush iPad & cell phone (didn't use either much at all) Chargers CPAP machine Heating pad ( didn't use)
  17. Oh Hun so sorry ur feeling this way. Mines didn't last 2 weeks but it was the worst thing I've ever experienced. If I walked it was as if I was stirring the pot and was unbelievably horrible. Day 3 I cried to my dr while still in the hospital that there has to be something stronger than zofran because it's not helping at all!! The sea sickness patch was applied behind my ear in addition to the zofran as well as discontinued my iv pain meds switching me to oral pain meds and oh what a difference. That patch lasted 3 days and not an issue with nausea since. What they did say to me when I left the hospital was to take my nausea meds before I eat and when I do eat tiny tiny sips of liquids which was my eating back then lol. I'm so sorry I completely understand how horrible the nausea feels and hope it gets better fast. Oh wait they also put my on Maylox for the burning sensation in my chest and sleeve when I swallowed. That was also helpful

    I think I am done

So sorry ur having such a hard time. My surgery was April 14th and things have been ruff for me as well. I can say things for me r slowly getting better each day. Our bodies r different and react differently. My daughter had surgery the same day and she's functioning as if she hasn't had surgery getting around extremely well tolerating full liquids and she's planning to try mushies in the next day or so. Me on the other hand haven't had such luck but I know we will getter soon. Hang in there I know this is hard but there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel.

    Day 3 and so uncomfortable!

I'm the hospital my surgeon gave me maylox to take before eating and it really helped with that. What also helped is I thought I was sipping correctly turns out I gulp if I don't use a straw. Some surgeons say no straw some says it's ok but so far so good. Hang in there it does get better.

    3 Days post op

Yes the one on my right side hurts like hell and that happens to be the incision she pulled the stomach through. I really haven't eaten much but have been able to drink 40 ounces. How do u know when ur sleeve is full.

    What day was ur surgery?
  22. Omg somebody pls tell me they experienced this and when it got better. Nausea and diarrhea something terrible I'm so frustrated. Just gave me a patch behind my ear and switching from iv pain meds to oral hoping this switch will help.
  23. Hello everyone. Thank u so much for ur support. Patch and oral pain meds so far so good. Listen I've had 3 children had what I thought was hyper emisi/severe nausea but babyyyyyy that was nothing compared to that. Just so happy to finally have any relief at all.
