  1. So I don't know if this is just something to get used to or what. I had my sleeve almost six months ago and my gallbladder removed almost three months ago. Lately when I go to bed, I tend to either lay there while my stomach contracts and gurgles and acts weird for about 2 to 3 hours, or I fall asleep only to be woken up constantly by the gurgling and contracting. I assume there is food processing still going on, but I am puzzled as to why some nights this happens and some nights it does not. I eat different types of protein and I normally eat my last meal about two hours before bed. Anyone else have this issue and know what is going on? It makes me such a grouch in the am... Oh want to add that I also sleep with a cpap, which I had retritrated a few weeks ago since I have lost over 50 pounds now (although strangely enough I was still at the same setting as before). Not sure if that is bothering my stomach or what.
  2. I'm not even sure this is possible... I have syntrax nectar and syntrax chocolate protein powders. I would love to mix them with milk or water, then freeze them in silicone popsicle molds for a tasty "indulgence" that gives me added protein and liquids. Anyone have some ideas for me? Recipes? Tips? Thanks so much!

    Nausea, vurping, dry heaves?

Thanks! Had my surgery last Thursday, it was easy in that it was a day surgery, but it seemed like it has been a slightly more painful recovery. They did not use my previous scars but instead went through my belly button and closed it with surgical glue. Lol not a pretty site, tons of bruising in the area. But so far no more attacks at lest!

    Nausea, vurping, dry heaves?

Sure enough it is gallbladder. I will have surgery next Thursday to remove it, hope I can wait that long...

    Nausea, vurping, dry heaves?

So last night not only did I end up w/the nasusea but I also had some pretty painful abdominals cramps... i was so scared, almost went to ER... then they stopped after an hour. Calling my doctor now.
  7. I am about a week or two out from 3 months post surgery. Since about the first week or so of solids (at 5 weeks) I have been having these episodes about 2-3 times per week where I get nauseous about an hour after eating. Sometimes just nausea, sometimes dry heaves, some times "vurping" where I feel it up in my throat. It does not seem to happen with any particular food or anything, and sometimes it occurs in the daytime, though more frequently during the night. I also sometimes get extreme pain up in my chest after eating for about an hour, then it goes away. That has gotten a little better at least, but it is still there and it never happens at the same time as the nausea episodes. I did see my doctor a few weeks back, and he said it could be gallbladder, could be restriction from my sleeve still. He sent me for an ultrasound which showed I did have gallstones, but he wanted me to take a "wait and see" stance for now and see if things improved. While the chest pain seems better, i am still having the nausea episodes- last night was so miserable I am supposed to see my doctor again soon, but I am anxious. Has anyone else ever experienced something similar?
  8. Thanks! I put syntrax strawberry kiwi in my ice tea this morning and it tastes great! Will have to try the vanilla and make a chai latte this weekend
  9. Love my iced tea, especially in the summer! I was wondering what protein powder might taste good with it? Maybe a fruity mix like one of the nectar ones? Anyone else try this?
  10. Wow what cute clothes! And what a brilliant idea, especially for ladies who do not have good thrift stores/consignment stores nearby!

    Week 6: May 27-31st Sleevers

Hi sorry I have not updated on this thread in a while. So first my stats as of this am: Sw 189 Pre surgery weight 183 Current weight 153 So I was in colorado visiting my family (who all live there now). We had lots of fun, plenty of different activities and lots of walking! I also asked my sisters-in-law and my Mom to take me shopping at places like Ross, gordmans, clothes mentor, and other lower priced clothing stores to find clothes that fit me. Now keep in mind I have bought plus size for years now, and so I automatically went towards plus size clothing out of long habit. Everyone hollered at me to get back to the misses and juniors side, I started to look in the XL sizes and they were like "humor us and try these things on instead" sizes medium, smalls, a few larges, 10s, 12s, and even 8s! I then would go try stuff on and come model for them... I was completely shell shocked to learn that size large was actually too big on me! They kept telling me I had hid in oversized baggy clothes for so long, and they said I have been working too hard to hide my body now. They reminded me that I used to love to wear fitted clothes that showed my assets off a little bit more (I am a naturally curvy girl even when I was 90 pounds soaking wet). They also let me know how proud they are of me (which made me a bit teary eyed). So I ended up coming home with new clothes that fit, in a wide range of sizes (it is true, a size 8 in one brand is not a size 8 in another). I then went to my closet and did some serious cleaning, planning to wash and take clothes to sell at clothes mentor in a few weeks. I even found a huge stash of clothes I had stored in the hopes I could wear them again soon- and I can wear them now! I am sorry I just went on and on in the paragraph above, it is just that it is such a huge nsv for me, and a very emotional thing at that. I am actually typing with tears running down my face right now. Both for fitting smaller clothes and for the absolute love and support from both hubby and kids, as well as my extended family. I am so very very blessed.
  12. Hi guys just wanted to update you all. I still don't know what happened but since my last post I have had no dry heave issues. So I am hoping it was just either a little tummy bug issue or maybe a little too much food. I take my vitamins in the morning and they don't seem to bother my tummy. I still get the feeling like food is sitting in my chest for a short while after eating but it does not cause me nausea just a little uncomfy for a short period of time. I was not able to get my doctor on the phone to just mention this to him today so I am hoping I can get him tomorrow. Thank you so much for your suggestions and support! I am so glad I found these forums you have all helped me retain my sanity throughout this whole process.
  13. Well I read the info but I am not so sure it applies. I am not diabetic and I have been eating high protein no sugar no carbs and still the dry heaving happens. I also feel a little hot and dizzy while it happens too. Some other things that are currently occurring: I am in a higher altitude than I am used to, although I have been here a week already. I have been doing a lot more walking around than usual I have reflux although I have been taking Prevacid steadily for it, even supplementing with Pepcid as needed. My eating times are off a bit both due to vacation schedule and being in mountain time rather than central time I seem to have chronic constipation The nausea and dry heaving seem to happen at night within an hour after a meal... Although I just had a post Iunch episode. Ever since I started solids, I have quote a bit of pain and discomfort after meals like food is sitting in my chest. Other times it is constant gurgling.
  14. So I am currently on vacation in the mountains seeing my family, I started solids a few weeks ago and the most I occasionally had was esophageal spasms. However the past two nights about and hour after dinner I get very nauseous and cold sweats. I end up dry heaving, feel shaky, and hem lie down and an hour later I am fine. What in the world may be going on? Could this be gall bladder or a leak? I get some pain in upper middle back during the day, but I suspect that is because I have been extremely active on my trip. I plan to call my doctor on Monday esp if this continues. Of course if I end up with fever or pain I will visit the ER here this weekend...

    Calling All Catholics!

I had a similar issue a few weeks back, but my parish had the wafers. I just did the arms crossed so I could at least get a blessing up until I was aloud solid foods again. Maybe you could try just holding it in your mouth until it softens up really good and swallow a little bit at a time? Have you called your doctor to ask? It may be the bread does not bother you, or it may be a bit sore for a short while after... Best wishes to you!
