  2. Happy 32nd Birthday aefizzy!

  3. 4 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 4th Anniversary aefizzy!

  4. I was banded in September and I had the exact same kind of pain you described. It was so bad that I left work early! The good news was that it did go away! It just was REALLY uncomfortable for awhile. I still get shoulder pain now and again but it is nowhere near what the pain the first month or so after surgery.

    Weight Watchers and LB

I am doing WW now. I have been banded about 6 months and I just find that I like the weekly weigh in. I am doing the core plan b/c it is very inline with the bandster rules. I didn't say anything about being banded I just had a feeling everyone would have an attitude about it so I kept quiet!
  6. I am a Weight Watcher too! I had the same issue of not making the best food choices with the band despite the fact that I meet regularly with a nutritionist. It's so easy to pick calorie dense foods that seem to go through the band easier. I also really like the weekly weigh-ins I feel like they keep me honest!

might as well be addicted to crack

Don't worry! Once you have more fills it will change everything. There has been more than one time when I have gone to eat pizza or Taco Bell and I take a few bites and I'm done. It will happen just give it time and a few fills!!

hi i have bc bs michigan

I don't live in Louisana but I do have BCBS of Michigan. They did pay for my band, but I had to show I was on a supervsed diet for longer than a year. My doctor had a form that my family doctor could sign saying he had known about me trying to lose weight for over a year. Good Luck!!!
  9. I had a hiatal hernia repired as well during my procedure. I felt like it probably lengthened my recovery time a little bit, but I was really glad it was done. My doctor was suprised by mine b/c I never complaied about heart burn etc... but in retrospect I had stopped eating foods that caused me discomfort. Now I feel much better! I can even drink orange juice again which was a big problem before!
  10. It seems every time I go out to eat now I always get asked questions like Was there somthing wrong with the food? Is everything OK etc... My husband and I even had a manager come over and ask if there was somthing wrong when the waitress notices I hadn't ate much. I have started saying I'm just not that hungry and I need a box. I guess it's better then them looking at me and thinking "I can't believe she ate that much! Anyone else with similar experiences? How have you handled it?
  11. I joined WW last week & so far it really seems to be helping me stay on track. I also really feel like I need the weekly weigh in for accountability!

    Weight Watchers - any success?

I joined WW last week. So far it realy seems to be helping me stay on track. I also feel like I really need the weekly weigh in for accountability. My weight control center has monthly eeting but they seem to be targeted to bypass, so I really like having a weekly meeting!
  13. I had the same thing happen for the first month after my surgery. I talked to the doctor and he said he could not think of anything related to the surgery that would cause the pain, but said it could be movement related. When I started to think about it I relaized that after surgery I did not want to sleep on my right side where the port was located so i slept on my left side. I think that was the casue becase I felt like I had a pinched nerve. I slept with a heating pad surrounding the shoulder for about five nights in a row and tried to stay on the right side more and it got MUCH better. It does not even hurt anymore!

    New to all this...

Congratulations on getting your surgery date!!! I was banded on 9/25/2007. I did clear liquids for three days (I had a hiatal hernia that was repaired at the same time) becasue it was all I could do. After that I did full liquids for about 7days, and then soft foods. Most Doctors have their own recomendations for what you should do. Congratulations again and Good Luck on the 14th! So far I am SOOO happy I did this!
  15. Hello everyone! I am new to the boards and I was supposed to be having surgery in November, but thanks to a cancellation in my surgeons schedule I am having surgery this Tuesday the 25th! I found out yesterday and already my nerves are working overtime, but I am REALLY excited!:whoo:
