  1. I am almost 7 weeks out! I am still having a hard time eating foods. No, I'm not eating fried, greasy, fatty foods. I not beyond cottage and mandarin oranges yet! Can eat no more than 2oz at a time. Example: Potted meat, salmon, tuna, eggs, and applesauce make me sick for hours. I think I am going into starvation mode. I've lost almost 30 lbs since surgery 12/19....not good at all. I go see my Dr on the 3rd of Feb. hopefully he can tell me something.

    Something is wrong you guys!

Thanks you guys! I eat very slow, it takes me about 30mins per meal which is about 2oz. Seriously, the first bite I get sick on the way down! The second bite I just want to quit, but I know if I don't eat something I will really be sick. It's like my stomach has gotten use to full liquid.....that is all it will tolerate. I love my sleeve, but I am to scared to eat anything solid because it makes me sick. I have no energy even with my Liquid Protein.
  3. I have all of the above and then some. My Dr. suggested the sleeve because he stated it had a weight loss success rate equal or higher than the gastric bypass......and this is why the sleeve is the only one he will do now. I did a lot of research gastric bypass was not an option for me.......lap band was my first option until I started research. The slippage, erosion, and seeing what a few of my friends are going through....No! The sleeve is for me.

    scared

I was terrified about that also, I was so scared that at the time of surgery the Dr would not do the surgery because my liver was to far over my stomach. My Dr. stressed Protein, protein, protein. get plenty of protein and you will be fine

  7. I'm 6 weeks post op! It is really hard not to be hungry! For me I ate such large amount of foods for so long....even now after being sleeved I'm hungry! My stomach's not hungry but my head is. I got lucky with my pre op diet...I only had to do it for a week. 24 hours before surgery Clear Liquids only!! It was torture too, in the hotel my family was eating pizza, hot wings, etc. while I was drinking chicken broth!! Hang in there!

    Eating is Uncomfortable...Grr

I'm in the same boat. I hate to eat now! Nothing sits well on my stomach.....after I eat I'm nauseous and only after a few small bites. I'm told it will get better though.

    Throwing Clothes Out

I'm the opposite! I gain most of my weight in the last couple of years so I didn't shop that much, seems nothing looked right on me anyway. I still have my 18, 20, and 22's, and they are cute too! So I am super excited to fit into them again and still buy more. I did go shopping and bought me a cute outfit in a size 10-11.....I really want to get into that!

    My turn, my turn! Congrats!
  14. OOPS! How am I coping? I try to stay busy, I know that sometimes that is so hard to do. I read books, take short walks, I really like to do Beachbody's Shaun T's Hip hop abs, and Rockin Body. I do that for 10-15 mins. I'm to tired to think about eating.
  15. Hi I am a emotional eater . I don't care what kind of emotion I am going through......right now I can't get anything other than 2 maybe 3oz at a time. Thank you sleeve!!! I drank some orange juice today got so sick, which made me upset because I couldn't drink the orange juice......but that's all I could do was be upset! I eat nothing else!

    Failure!

Do you take any medicines that cause weight gain. I was taking a couple that made me bloated, etc. If you do take meds check them, some may cause you to gain weight, and then take to your Dr.

    I feel so depressed

OMGOSH! I had that same problem today. I finally was able to eat some chili (a couple of tablespoons)! I found myself tasting small bites of it all day. I was drinking a lot of Water, tea, crystal light, etc. I ate cottage cheese, fruit cups, etc. After my surgery (Dec. 19) I was not able to get that much down, Even though they are small bite I still feel I shouldn't be able to eat that much food. Somebody help me!!! I feel your pain!!!

    Discouraged

In the beginning my husband was fine with it. He was excited about the facts that maybe, just maybe all my health problems would go away. As it got closer to the surgery he said "don't do it, please don't do it. Why can't you do it the old fashion way"? He felt that if I could do good on the pre op diet it should easy the continue. I wanted to cry......not having him on board anymore was hurtful. Now that I am watching what I eat and losing weight......he's back on board. your husband will come back around.

    Wasteful!

I have always taught me children to not waste food. Now I do it 3x a day. I am sooooo wasteful now, the only luck I would have is when the food comes in 2oz cans. My husband said "look at all these bowls in the refridg". And yes I do use the freezer a lot, but I don't find myself interested in that particular food any longer. I try to store the majority of the food in baby food jars, but I still end up throwing them out. Any good advice! Oh yeah, I try not to let my children see me being so wasteful with food. "Moma how come you are not eating all your food"? :)
  22. Yes ma'am that was me also.......I have family that are thinking of getting sleeved. I told them when you can get past the first few weeks you will be fine!
  23. Oh my!!! It was like reading my experience in detail. Everything that is happening to you happened to me. On point! The first few days I thought I was in hell.....I was vomiting and crying for days post op. There were days I woke up to dizzy to use the restroom....it was a nightmare. On the second week I started to get better, from then on I've been doing OK! Hang in there it does get better over time. Sip, sip, and sip.
