  1. No change for me yet...I've read some gals start their periods very soon after, but I guess some don't...

    Ok I'm mad!

I wish I could get on at Apple....I have applied so many times
  3. Stephanie I have had Gerd and knew there was a risk of it being worse with the sleeve, BUT after my hiatal hernia was fixed, I am having no issues with heartburn or reflux. Honestly, it feels so calm in my throat now lol. I normally would need antacids everyday and didn't start a PPI until a few days after surgery, which would have been awful had the hernia not been repaired.

    Lets Talk Gas...

Walking helps a lot! I burped a lot, but didn't pass gas at the other end for about 5 or 6 days.

    Where do you work?
  8. @@nessa259 I am a week and a half out, I never had a band, but I love the sleeve.
  9. Stephanie- I just bought feosol preop and used that and for once in my life me iron was normal!
  10. @ You can do this! Make sure to season up your chicken! I lived on chicken seasoned with montreal chicken seasoning for a week preop. I used the George Foreman grill, then let the chicken rest, then sliced it up for my salad. Add tons of veggies! Cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, etc! I also ate a ton of steamed zucchini with chipotle and other seasonings. Be creative

    Pre-op diet...... Destroyed!

Prior to sleeve surgery and my pre-op diet I had one too many food funerals! I was one of the people who woke up and was told that they couldn't do the surgery! It took over a year to even think about trying again, and this time as a precaution, I did 3 weeks on my pre-op diet, and was in the doctors office each week for weigh ins. I went to a different surgeon the second time, and the difference is night and day. 1st surgeon: 1 week pre-op diet with 2-3 Protein shakes and a lean cuisine for dinner 2nd surgeon: 3 weeks pre-op diet with whatever I wanted to eat as long as my total carbs were 40 or below everyday. The lean cuisines I was eating before were pretty high in carbs. With the second one, I was able to pick and choose what I wanted and modify it. I don't want to cause anyone alarm, but the docs really want us on these preop diets for a reason.
  12. I have read that corset training can cause your organs to move to the wrong places...kind of scary to me

    Preop pcos ttc

I have tried for years and because of my weight and PCOS it didn't happen. Most docs advise you to lose weight before they start any assistive measures, so after years of struggling, overeating, and being depressed about it, I got sleeved. I truly hope that it regulates my cycle and gets everything working again. I'm 33 almost 34 and want kids so bad. I'm the gal that ends up crying after everyone else's baby showers and births. I'm happy for them, but want to experience being a mom too
  14. I was told decaf for at least a month. Spark also has a lot of carbs, I bought some pre-op and it's still unopened. I figured the carbs in that wasn't worth it as if rather eat something for my 40 carbs a day that I was allowed. I am a coffee addict! So I know how you feel about spark, but it's best to not drink it. I have had a decaf vanilla coffee, but it takes so long to drink it and then I'm constantly reheating it so I end up barely drinking any. The first week after surgery I was exhausted. I'm a week and a half post op and still don't have the energy I used to. It will come back, but it is a major surgery. I also had a hiatal hernia repair, so that also has to heal. I've been drinking Water, sugar free snapple packets, and decaf tea post-op. I have a renewed love for lady grey tea by twinings. It is so light and yummy. Good luck and let me know how your surgery goes.

Sorry I really got on my soapbox lol

    VSG cured my cervical dysplasia!

Congrats! Sometimes I wonder about false results from Pap smears. Anything can throw off the results, hormones, sex, douches, and anything like suppositories. It's interesting to know that the ideal timeframe to have a Pap smear is 10-20 days after your last period, BUT if you are obese and don't ovulate or have PCOS you may not even have periods to know when to have a Pap smear, and if you have it done at the wrong time it can cause false results. I really hope that more specialists focus on treating obese individuals, as we get bad treatment a lot. I hear so many doctors diagnose anything with "you are overweight" than actually delving into the problem. Even though I took a step with the sleeve to get healthier, many will not and we need to fight for awareness.

    ghrelin?

From different research sites it shows bypass reduces the hormone, as well as surgeries like vsg. Some research shows that hormone levels return to normal after a few years. http://press.endocrine.org/doi/pdf/10.1210/jc.2003-030705 http://press.endocrine.org/doi/full/10.1210/jc.2003-030705 It is also produced in our small intestines, so unless we have all our stomach and intestines removed, we will still have ghrelin in some quantity.

I have an EPO that I pay more through my employer but it should cover 100% since I met my deductible this year.

Haha @@Miss Mac! I've been a raging B all week! Definitely don't take things personal. Some people are riding the sleeve roller coaster like me lol

    ghrelin?

The "blind" stomach still produces the hormone. It is honestly the strangest sensation to not be hungry at all!
  22. I just ate some retried Beans and am 1 week and 3 days post op. I'm not exactly sure what it will feel like to be full with the sleeve. I guess everyone is different, but what is your sign? I feel like I could eat more...I ate maybe a 1/4 cup or so
  23. I think most of us feel this way. I've asked quite a few times now and people say that liquids/purees are slider foods and tend to go right through so there isn't a "full" feeling. I was also told that our nerves are messed up from surgery, so it will take awhile to waken them. As it is I haven't attempted huge quantities and freaked out when I could eat a baby jar of applesauce. I know it's not much but I was expecting this huge "sign" to tell me no more lol. When we get to solids it should be more noticeable.

    Boob rash!

My grandma always says "can't was killed at the battle of try." May as well get it documented each time. I get boob rashes all the time. I had huge boobs in high school and am now a DDD. I would rather be a C cup and have an internal bra done so if I do decide to forgo a bra someday I can

    When...

There was no way I could lay on my stomach for the first week. I actually had a body pillow that I rested my stomach on so it didn't feel like it was pulling. When you feel like it's comfortable, go ahead and try it ????
