Can anyone share with me their sleep apnea experiences? How they knew, what it felt like before and after? I'm going to be tested in the near future and want to know what to expect. Thank you!

Anyone from northern Michigan here?

Im not to this point yet but im just curious if anyone here works as a nurse or a cena, and how easy it was for you to return to work after surgery. I am a C.N.A and my job is constant running on my feet and transferring residents, the work load can be very heavy at times especially when we are short staffed.

Im still going to the seminar on the 14th and hope to walk away more informed. As for the money aspect of it I am willing to do anything to better my life, I am just afraid that I may fail or not have the results that I wanted and then feel guilty of using that much money.. but I know that many people probably have similar feelings and fear.

Hello everyone! Im trying to find more answers to all my questions and this seems to be the perfect place I guess first of all I am curious to know if anyone here is from Michigan and or has blue care insurance. I have heard many different stories from people I know about the requirements and everything leading up to qualifying for the surgery. I just got switched to blue care network from priority health and have to select a new Dr. I was curious if anyone had one they would recommend. Thank you!

I did call my insurance, I now know all of the requirements per them and am going to a seminar on the 14th.. now I just have to figure out if it would be more practical for me to do self pay considering they only cover half. And then try to figure out if getting that much extra money is even feasible lol

Ok so here is my story. I will be 27 years old at the end of the month. I have an amazing husband and two beautiful children (6 year old daughter and 4 year old son) I am 5'8 and have been heavy for as long as I could remember. In high school I was already 200+ lbs, I had pregnancy complications and severe postpartum depression and went to about 300 lbs... Currently at 307lbs. I have tried every diet and fad out there, I do lose weight ( at most was 30lbs) but then no matter what I do I plateau and shortly after gain it all back. I now have insurance through my work that may open more doors for me, I want to try to approach my PCP about wls. I have been in denial about my poor health for too long and want to be able to keep up with my children. Can anyone share with me their experiences and how they approached the subject. Before now I have only been to my obgyn on a regular basis( who has brought up wls to me) I have an appointment with my new PCP on Feb 4th and I don't know if I should just dive right into the topic or if there are other subjects I should breach first to get the ball rolling. I know that this is a lengthy process but you got to start somewhere at some point if you want to change your life. Thank you!

I had it put in after my son was born 2009 (it was inplanon then) and I bleed for about two months but then didn't have another period for a little over a year.

I called my insurance and I do need to be referred by my pcp

I would love to turn my life around, for my health and my happiness. But my insurance only pays 50%. We work very hard to make a living and i am very proud to say my children do not want for much, but extra money is hard to come by especially by the thousands, I know that a lot of people would love to have that much covered, and I am thankful but I still don't think I can afford it and that has me feeling very sad today.

I'm not positive on my insurance requirements about having to see my PCP first, I have been researching wls for quite awhile and that's the easy part to find, it's all the gray area in between that I don't know about.

I haven't had surgery yet but when I was pregnant with my daughter I had gull bladder issues and spent my entire pregnancy on a fat free diet.... It was torture lol but my saving grace was sugar free pudding with skim milk. And I also found that if you peel and freeze a banana then put it in a food processor its got an ice cream texture. And if you sprinkle sf jello mix over green grapes and freeze them they taste like sour candies.

Im not as worried about being able to take time off as I am being able to afford to take the time off lol
