This year marks 7 for me. I lost 152 pounds but have regained 60. I am totally down on myself but my state of mind during this pandemic has not helped. I know it is very unhealthy to eat fewer than 40 carbs per day. I cannot fathom liquids again. Any advice appreciated.

Thanks. My internist recommended the sleeve in November. Last year he tried me on Adipex, Victoza, and Byydureon. They all ended up making me sick. I have a friend who did the sleeve in Oxford and has lost 95 lbs since March 2013. She has encouraged me profusely. I talked to my insurance company on December 19th and they feel like it can be speedy because of the things tried in the last year. My job now is my initial consult and I am waiting for bariatric coordinator to schedule it. Hopefully, it will be speedy although I will not get my hopes up. Dr. King is who I have chosen based on recommendations. Baptist Memorial is where it happens. I am praying to have it a few days before spring break but it depends on the insurance. Since it was recommended the insurance coordinator seemed to think it would move faster. Good luck. I want all the details. ????

Hi I am trying to get my appmt set up with Angie at Dr. Kings office. My internist has recommended the VGS with Dr. King. I have type II diabetes and high BP. I spoke to my insurance company and my Active Health rep says she things it can be done more quickly than I thought because I tried other things with my physician. I am praying for a January consult and to get this show on the road but have read some scary thoughts after reading some of these message boards. At any rate I have questions. I am looking for support too. Thanks.

Poking for a support system. Initial consultation January.

I have made the decision to take the plunge as recommended by my internist. I will have my initial consultation in January and my insurance company thinks I may be able to have it sooner than I thought as I have been trying different things. I downloaded this app because I thought it may give me courage but after reading some of the problems I am feeling doubtful. I am 56 with type II diabetes which is under control and high BP . I am 5 FT 10 inches and weigh around 330 lbs. I have questions and am looking for guidance. Is anyone out there willing to assist?
