I eat cereal from time to time! I really like Special K's Protein cereal. It has 10 grams of Protein per serving and is only 120 calories for 3/4 cup. It tastes kind of like Wheaties, but sweeter

    Hey everyone!
So I have a blog that I update weekly but I recently decided to make an Instagram account that was related specifically to my weight loss. I thought maybe I'd post progress pictures, healthy food ideas, and other motivational kinds of stuff to it. I don't know if anyone else does that too, but if you do, lemme know! I want to build up a good support system. Feel free to add me!! --> BlissfullyBanded

BandedBrunette481 got a reaction from Weeviegurl in Craziest weight loss "compliment" you've ever gotten?
I'm at that point in my weight loss when people are really starting to notice and for whatever reason, they often feel the need to mention it. Most people stick with a simple, "you look great!", but every now and then I get an awkward comment that's supposed to be a compliment. I think people want to say something positive but they don't always know how to phrase it. The result is often hilarious! I know a lot of people get offended by others talking about their weight loss, but honestly, sometimes you just have to laugh about it!! It feels better when you do, trust me.
So I want to know what's the craziest weight loss compliment you've ever received?
Here's mine. Last week a coworker pulled me aside and had a very long-winded conversation with me about my weight loss and surgery. She told me that she was so happy for me because I was a beautiful girl and now I don't have to go through life with "such a burden" (meaning my excess weight). But the real kicker was when she motioned to the striped shirt I had on and said "You just look fabulous! You can wear stripes now and all kinds of other things!" Hahaha! I walked away from the exchange cracking up because sometimes I just can't believe people say the things they do!
    So let's hear your stories!

BandedBrunette481 got a reaction from Weeviegurl in Does Your Band Get Tighter A Few Days after Your Fill
I've only had one fill so far but it was a big one. They put 3cc's in my 10cc band and I could feel it going in and then I got this weird feeling of pressure in my throat. But the liquids and mushy foods I ate the first few days after went down just fine. I was hungrier than I had ever been, in fact. It took me about a week to feel like I had gotten a fill. I still don't feel as though there is much restriction, since anything gets through, but I did get that not hungry feeling you mentioned! I like that part

@ I am not sure which route I am going, but from my own personal view and from the info I have read, I think I would prefer the sleeve. Thanks for your link, I look forward to reading your blog!

Ha!! Too funny! When I was in my pre-op liquid diet stage, I would beg my mom to just let me smell her food. It made me feel better for some weird reason haha. So my suggestion is smell away and pretend your Protein Shakes and other liquids are just as good as that

I haven't had any issues with my band, I love it actually, but I'm sorry you had a bad experience. My advice is to find a new doctor. Go to someone who specializes in weight loss surgery and can help you figure this out.

My doctor said I was fine to do ab workouts at my 6 week post op visit, but it hurt where my port is attached to my muscles. So just go slow and listen to your body! I'm a little over 3 months post op now and my port area is sore for days when I work out my abs still. My doctor said it would get better in time.

Thanks for sharing your stories!! I thought of another one!
I had a coworker tell me that I "looked like I lost 20 pounds over the weekend." She had JUST taken notice of my weight loss even though I see her daily....so I guess I didn't look any thinner the day before? Haha! Oh well

Oh this is an easy one. I take cabs from the train station to my office. Most of the cabbies were not born here so English is their second language and as such, they often cannot use the nuances of those who learned English as children. So one day I get into the cab with a driver who hadn't seen me for about three months. He looks at me and says, 'oh, you are not so fat anymore.'
What else could I say other than thank you. LOL!

When I was heavy, I had an assistant manager who barely gave me the time of day. I think I had one conversation with him and he was kind of snappy to me. Totally uncalled for. Then when I lost 50 lbs and looked very different, suddenly he was calling me "Slim", commenting on how great i looked and talking to me for no reason ! Weird ! He transferred to another place a year ago but happened to come through our work about 4 months ago. Again, "You look great !!!" Gee.......... thanks......... I can appreciate a man who thinks a lady is attractive, but before WLS I barely existed to him ! Geesh !!

The wife and I had Lap Band surgery in Septemer 2007. Even though I may never get to goal I have still been able to keep over a hundred pounds off.
I have a good fiend who I have known for 40 years and has seen me go up and down in my weight battle where I would lose 50 lbs and gain 60 lbs
At least once a year keeps sayiing "still keeping off the weight huh"
Another well meaning concern individual wanted to know if I had lost weight due to having cancer.

Isn't that great when your old clothes start fitting again? I also think it's great you got checked out at the gas station haha! Sometimes the ego boost is just really nice.
I haven't been stuck on anything yet *knock on wood*, but I too experience band tightening when it's that time of the month. It's the weirdest thing. I've never had anyone explain why that happens really.
Congrats on all your success so far!! Keep up the good work!

These are the things I was glad to have post-op:
    - my heating pad for all the internal gas and incision pain
    - a variety of liquids to sip on (apple juice, broth, tea, Powerade Zero)
    - My pain meds
    - liquid Tylenol (for weaning off the pain meds)
    - My recliner (I couldn't sleep laying down flat for several weeks post-op, it put way too much pressure on my abdomen)
    - Pepto Bismol (for the intestinal gas and diarrhea)
    - Netflix (you can't do much so it gets boring sitting around haha)
    Best of luck to you!

Not to freak you out, but the typical symptoms of a slipped band are vomiting, intense acid reflux, chest pain/pressure, and pain when eating. Since you are experiencing so much vomiting it is definitely worth going to see your doctor about!
