    totally freaked out

Your stomach wall is still healing from the port being stitched to it. but, if youre that concerned, maybe you should call your doctor.
  6. I'm about 2 months post-op and have only had one fill. At my 2 month appt monday, my NP said since I'm losing she doesnt want to do a fill for another 3-4 weeks. She said I should be doing most of the work. I've cut out most carbs. If I'm hungry between meals, I drink a lot of Water and chew some gum, if I"m still hungry 45-60mins later, I'll eat a snack like lunch meat or some raw veggies.
  7. congrats to you on being banded!
  8. my NP recommended to add it smoothies for a creamy texture earlier on. she said it would also help with constipation.

I keep mini-goals, too......every five pounds down, I do something special for myself. Especially now that I have passed the halfway mark and am hitting more stalls. The mini-goals make the finish line seem more attainable. You are doing a great job. Hang in there.

  15. love this!!! im just 2 months post op, but i seriously love my band.
  16. I had pretty good restriction with my fill for the first week, I was also sick with a cold, so that could have helped. I have 4.4 cc's put in, but I still feel hungry sooner than every 4-5 hrs. The weight is coming off slowly but surely, so I'm happy with my band!!

I was cleared by my doctor. Please dont go off based what I did. Check with your doctor.
  18. just realized i'm exactly 2 months post op! may 8th, 2014 was the best day of my life.

      Chelly

That's a great accomplishment so far.

May make a suggestion and that is stay away from brownies because doing that can really sabotage you quickly in the long run.

@Chelly brownies aren't something I eat daily. I've been eating low carb since I had surgery, and Fourth of July was the first day I left myself enjoy a treat. I have eaten any carbs (other than from veggies) since friday. Thanks for the concern tho.

This is a lifestyle change not a diet and brownies are apart of life. The key is to not go overboard but you work hard and should be able to treat yourself now and then. I'm 11 months post-op and in the past 11 months I've had cake, cookies, pizza.. I just count them in my daily calories. I also eat carbs with every meal. I just make sure my protein is my biggest portion followed by veggies and then carbs. I'm down 130 lbs so I must be doing something right :)

  19. I agree. I look really good at 170, but which still puts me at about 25 lbs overweight. I've always been pretty muscular from 18 years of catching/playing softball, so i try to not let me BMI get me down. I dont even know the last time i was 155, it was def in elementary school.
  20. betty_s

    Exercise

i started swimming/cardio at 1 week post-op, then started with strength training at 3 weeks post-op. i'm now almost 9 weeks post-op and workout 5x a week lifting, 2x week HIIT cardio.
  21. So, I'm about 8 weeks post-op from the lap-band and at a short stall. I know pre-surgery, this would mean I was already binging because I was pissed off I wasn't losing enough yet. Well, I've had a few down days, and it seems EVERY DAY at work, there is food for some reason or the other. Last week, a food delivery was mixed up, so there were bagels and muffins downstairs. Yesterday, there was cake in the conference room 10 steps from my cube to welcome the new employees. Today, bagels and muffins on the correct delivery day for an agency meeting, THEN, Cookies this afternoon to meet the employees we had cake for yesterday. I mean REALLY. This is why America is fat. Soooo many people at my agency complain about gaining weight once they work here because there is ALWAYS food. And I just watch people; loading up their plates with 2 bagels and a muffin. A cookie in each flavor. I'm not saying I don't want one, and the availability constantly makes it hard to resist. Since surgery I have not given in, but damn sometimes I want to! Can anyone else relate?
  22. chugging along! ate brownies on friday and STILL lost weight over the weekend! happy girl!
