    OMG October 2013 Post-ops

Please can you send a pic of the wrapper. Don't think I can get these in Australia but would like to see in all health stores. Here is a picture of the box that it comes in. Sorry for the poor quality, my phone camera is broke and half of every picture comes out blurry.

Do those protein bars have nuts in them?? Yes, some of the bars do contain some nuts.

The Name of the Protein Bars is : PURE PROTEIN. The box was around $17.00 and it contains 36 bars. Each bar is 200 calories, has less than 2g of sugar, and 20grams of protein. It has a little more carbs than I would like, but when I feel like I just can't stomach another Protein shake, these are GREAT. The box comes with the following 3 flavors: chocolate Deluxe, Chocolate Peanut Carmel, and Chocolate Peanut Butter.

I found some protein bars at SAMS CLUB that have 20 grams of protein and less than 2 g of sugar. I have one every morning for breakfast. They have a pretty good flavor and are even better frozen. Before surgery I was drinking the Whey protein powder with skim milk, but I can NOT tolerate it after surgery. It makes me feel sick every time. Tried it with Soy milk, and still felt sick.

    OMG October 2013 Post-ops

My doctors office has not been very informative throughout this entire process. I was given a folder at my initial consultation with a list of recommended foods, and that's it. Most of the information I learn is through the web. When I had the lap band food was always getting stuck, right below my breast bone, even after all the fluid was taken out. I found out later my band had slipped and my stomach above the band was twisted. But for 8 years that area above my band was where I felt "full" at, my lower stomach always felt hungry. After this surgery, I had to learn where my stomach was and what feeling full felt like opposed to the restricted feeling of fullness I received from the band. At first I worried he screwed up my surgery and it didn't work, although common sense told me that was not possible, after the complications post surgery I went through... But once I got on solid foods, I can definitely tell I can not eat anywhere near the amount I used to.

Just found this site.... I had a Lap Band to RNY Gastric Bypass revision on October 28, 2013. So far I am down 34.6 pounds (that I know of... unfortunately, I do not have an accurate start weight). So far, other than the first few weeks, I am averaging a loss of about 3 pounds a week. The doctor said that with revisions, the loss tends to be slower than someone going straight to Gastric Bypass. For the past two weeks or so, I noticed I no longer feel like a recovering "patient" anymore. This is my new normal, I'm used to the new way of eating now. Anyone else on her had a revision to RNY?
