  1. Good luck! Keep us all posted! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
  2. I worry about that to. My surgery is Jan 20 and I have not kept it A secret tonnes of people know and now I worry that I will not live up to my goals! These forums are so supportive and I will just continue reading them to get support especially during tough times
  3. I agree if you can afford it have your husband stay home a few days. I have 4 small boys my surgery is Jan 20. I have someone coming into my home for 4 weeks to help out. I should mention that I am having open surgery so it requires longer down time. Good luck with your surgery!
  4. Good luck with your upcoming surgery! Mine is Jan 20th and I am from Canada.
  5. Oh oh my poor husband does not like moody! I better get a tonne of books so I stay out of his hair!
  6. My surgery was on 12/30 last Monday so I'm right there with you. I have slept in the recliner a couple times and it has been pretty comfortable. My biggest challenge right now is getting in at least 800 calories-never thought I'd be saying that. My protein and liquid #'s are good but I've only been eating about 400-500 cals- don't want my metabolism to slow. Are you counting the calories from your protein mix for the 400-500 cals?
  7. Good luck to all of you that have your surgery this week!
  8. I went to my pcp first and asked him if he had any other patients that had rny. I had done my research and found my own very qualified surgeon. My pcp sent in the referral and now 1 year later I am 2 weeks before my surgery. I have a very good relationship with my pcp and he has seen and heard all my struggles with weight loss so who better to have in my corner then him!
  9. Congratulations on hitting a huge milestone!! So sorry to hear about your and your friends loss. I will pray for you both.
  10. Congratulations!! Where in Canada are you from? I am in MB my surgery is Jan 20 in Alberta. Good luck!
  11. We have all tried to lose weight time and time again! If we could have done it without surgery we would have! After every diet I have regained the weight I lost plus some more! This is a last resort and a decision not made lightly. Insurance companies should realize that. I was fortunate in the sense that I only needed approval for my travel costs. Unfortunate that I did not get the classes except for 1 nutrition class. My support is mainly coming from these forums. Thank you all for your posts and encouragement!!
  12. Yup, I will totally share. They are all in hard copy printed form right now so I have to get them to digital. Please feel free to PM me. Perhaps I can take pictures and that will work tomorrow. Did you get my pm? If not here is my email nettieemail@yahoo.caThanks again!
  13. Do share recipe please! I have bought a few different kinds. I can't believe how much I spent!
  14. Hi hear you! I just want to eat eat and eat! Anything in sight will do! If I lived close to fast food joints I am sure I would be there. My fear is after surgery I will just want to keep right on eating!
  15. I am going through caffeine withdrawal day 3 now so tired and lots of headaches! Loud kids don't help either.
  16. Happy New Year!
  17. Hi would you mind sharing them with me as well? If so I can pm u my email. Thanks!
  18. Wow amazing! Great job! I start my journey Jan 20th. I love reading success stories. I hate exercise but I know it will have to part of my life! I live in cold cold Manitoba so getting out to walk is a real challenge! I do love skating and tobogganing and my husband really wants me back on cross country skies even though I suck! I will be having open surgery because of scar tissue so getting back on skates this winter does not look promising . Thanks for sharing your story.
  19. I looked into the sleeve and it was supposed to cost me $16,000 and I would have to fly to Toronto on my dime. I could have waited and had VSG here in winnipeg but it would mean surgery in late fall of 2014. I just want to start my journey already!
  20. Manitoba health is covering it!!! They are also covering my travel which ever form I chose! I am flying it not only gets me there sooner but I will feel safe with tonnes of people around. I could drive but it would be all by myself for a 12 hour drive.
  21. Congratulations!! Wow that is fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing. I start my journey in a few weeks, it's so nice to read positive success stories!
