  1. Good luck too everybody having your surgery this week!! I wish you a speedy recovery!
  2. Finally came home yesterday!! It's so good to see my family! I have lost 8.5lbs since surgery!! I am struggling with getting my protein in . Right now the thought of it makes me sick. I have several different brands and flavours to choose from. Still I can not swallow it, my little boys will come and finish it for me. Trust me I am only too happy letting them finish it! I have tried mixing it with water and ice, milk and yogurt. I am going to try missing it with apple sauce wish me luck!
  3. I am 6 days post op and the thought of food or any protein is grossing me out!! I am drinking water which is good. I lost 8.5 lbs since surgery which is good. I really need to force some protein down I am on full liquids for 1 more week.
  4. I just got released from the hospital! 1 night in a hotel then I fly home! I miss my family . My pain is controlled with meds. I have 33 staples down my tummy!! My appetite is very low now until I start eating then I can easily eat half a cup and have to cut myself off but only if it's yummy food! Yesterday they served cr of potato soup it was so yummy course I forgot to eat slow and after a few bites my tummy told me it was now in charge! Very painful! Lesson learned lol.
  5. Hi I had surgery 1/20/14. I have a 10" railroad track down my tummy! Have any of you tried vitamin E? I was thinking of using that it would coconut oil work better?
  6. Hey KCamp welcome back! Glad to hear it went well! I too can easily eat more then the 1/2 cup I should only be eating! I am really going to have to rely on measurements and stuck to only eating that portion at a time. I also need to work on taking my time I can have my soup finished in under 10 min . Sure hope you get your pain under control soon!
  7. I feel so much better now. My pain is under control which is great! I had my upper GI this morning and no leak I am now on full fluids! Again not expecting that I thought it was clear fluids. Apparently they changed it recently. I just managed my first solo walk. The staff here is so great. My nut came in this morning she answered all my questions and I had tonnes. Tomorrow my bandages are coming off and I will get to have a shower! My biggest challenge is to eat and drink slowly! Gotta work on that! I have been really lucky in my adventure. Sunday when I flew out it was just me and 2 pilots on the charter flight. Then I was given a private room!
  8. I told most of my family and friends. ( I had surgery yesterday.) Sometimes I regret telling so many people because I was told I am taking the easy way out, I am crazy or that I should do research and make sure I am 100% sure! Then there are the ones that make it all ok by how very supportive they are!! Some I did not even think would support me! Good luck!

  17. What about going to your communities tourist attractions? We have a central tourist hot spot in our nearby city that includes a beautiful river walk. They have a lot of different performers through out the year. Or if you like scavenger hunts try Geo caching. It's free and it's fun looking for treasures and you get exercise!

  21. Good for you Misty for wanting a better life for you and your children!! I left my first husband with 2 healthy babies (3 & 1). Nobody deserves to be walked on. I now have a wonderful husband of 13+ years. We have 1 bio child together and we are foster parents to 3 beautiful boys that have challenges including FASD. He treats me like a queen, everyone deserves that! I wish you a wonderful new life!
