Last weigh in....274#! Didn't meet my goal of 270 cuz I dealt with a nasty stall

So strange! Had my surgery 2 weeks ago and I have GAINED WEIGHT! 280# - up 5 since last week. So frustrating

I had my sleeve in early March and just used normal band aids over my 5 incisions just to protect them for my flight home. Worked well, used steristrips a few times after I got home and then nothing. They are healing very well. I put Vitamin E on them daily and soon be using a scar gel on them.

Today's weight: 275!

Apologize for the delay in posting a reply Sleeveless. We just got HOME home today. And I have a small correction, I had my surgery with OCC, which isn't at Mi hospital. Regardless, everything went GREAT! Wasn't (and still not) a fan of the paper underwear that had you wear. But surgery went smooth. Had a little nausea coming out from the anethesia (but apparently that's my MO, my mother said anytime I've ever been under, I've gotten sick). But I was up walking around later that evening. Since my body clock is on CST, I ended up waking up about 3:30am, so I just walked the halls until they finally discharged me around 9am. I only ever had minor pain, similar to indigestion, and it would just come and then go away after a couple seconds. Went back Wednesday so they could check me at and remove my drain. And they cleared me to go home. The broth at the hotel was delicious when I had it the day before surgery, but after surgery I found it to be too rich. So I just drank my Water, with some True Lemon flavoring, until we got back to San Diego. Border crossing was not a big deal. That was a big worry leading up to surgery, because my wife's passport hadn't come when we flew out to SD. But we had her birth certificate, Social Security card, and her driver's license, so they let her back into the US with very little problem. All in all, a GREAT experience, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Sleve Day!!! Headed to Mi hospital in about 30minutes. Typical nervousness. It's like the feeling ofgoing up the first hill of a rollercoaster. You've committed, but you still ask yourself if this is a good idea. To mis-quote Owen Wilson in Armageddon "I'm 70% excited, 30% scared. Or is it 30% excited, 70% scared. I don't know, but that is what makes it so interesting."

Spent the last half hour checking out the profiles of some of the challenge folks, you know, just for the fun of it. It was VERY encouraging! We've got members with a whole lot to lose, members with not so much to lose, members just getting started, members near the end of this part of the journey, and some VERY beautiful people! Who knew!?! LOL!

I had surgery Friday which was my last weigh in: 283#!

This is the very best thing I've ever done for myself. I've always made sure everyone else had what they needed or wanted, but I decided it was my turn. Had a wonderful experience. Dr. Ponce did my surgery. I was at Hospital Jersalem. I was a little afraid at first. However, the staff there is wonderful and then you begin to meet friends. I went all the way from Mississippi alone. I had no problems. In fact I hated to leave. My coordinator was amazing. The doctors went above and beyond caregiving. I have nothing bad to say. I hope everyone else has the same experience. If you have questions, like i did, I'll be more than happy to help ease your mind. Good Luck!

11 pounds shy of my goal but I admit it was a far fetching goal.

Boarded the plane from Houston to San Diego, surgery tomorrow with Dr.Garcia. Super excited, Super nervous!!!!

Yes...tomorrow is the final weigh-in (although late comers will definitely be counted). :-)

I'm leaving for vacation today, not sure I'll be able to weigh in tomorrow so I will do my final check in today!

Happy news is I am out of my stall!! Didn't reach my goal, but I am pushing myself so I will take that as a positive! Can't wait for the next challenge, thank you to everyone who kept me going...love how hard we work!! Thanks Bea for all the work you do!

I did okay as far as sticking to the diet for 10 days, which also included 4 days of Clear liquids. My diet didn't include salad, but did have the 3 Protein Shakes per day along with sugar free Jello and plain Greek yogurt. I didn't really lose any weight, however, which baffled me. Dr. Cabrera told me that he could tell I followed the pre op diet very well as my liver was shrunk up nicely. Following the diet for two weeks, I'm sure you will lose what you need to. Remember if you get too hungry, you can add some lean Protein to the salad. Good luck to you; you can do it!!!
