guess I was lucky, mine was about over around day 3, hope it goes away soon for you.only thing I can say is walk, walk walk..sit up and wait it out. You should be better soon.
I am 6 days post op today. Those gas pains are horrendous, aren't they! I have been walking as much as I can and I took a small footstool in to the bathroom. It seems having my knees up a little higher helps relieve the gas.
Every day is better and am still so excited!

I too suffer from this, had a total knee replacement and I need a hip replacement. Only thing I can sug. Is that you get up and move first chance you get. I'm 12 days out and the pain in my hip is so much less. I did lose weight during the pre op process plus the little I've lost since is making things easier...good luck to you and keep moving

The main thing I needed was lip balm. They supplied the gowns and the non slip socks. I took my phone, iPad and charges. All the other stuff is overkill. Take a tooth brush and paste plus mouth wash...the hospital stuff, not so good!

My energy level goes up and down ...once our bodies adjust this will stabilize

have you spoken with your doctor about the nausea? I'm sure they can give you something to try and ease that. If it's any comfort to you, each day gets better, just try and walk and sit up and be as active as possible. Wishing you well!!Had my surgery on the 26th, 3rd day post-op ... feeling horrible, nauseous... simply feel like crap! I have read a lot ok of pain and discomfort after surgery but haven't seen anyone talk about simply feeling lousy... does this last long.

Kim, sorry that you are going through this. I don't know what type of products you are using for your Protein, but I had to try a few different ones to find a taste I liked along with the unflavored one. Keep plugging along and things will improve, remember we are at the beginning of a life long journey

Own beds are over rated..I should have stayed in hospital and get served and pampered!!!

first congrats on the weight loss! Sorry you are having a these struggles. I use Premier Protein drinks and Unjury powders. I eat things like broths, cream Soup, grits and oatmeal along with Greek yogurt and cottage cheese. The first few weeks they tell use not to get caught up in the amount of protein, just do as much as you can. I also use liquid egg whites and pb2(powder peanut butter) to boost my protein by adding to my shakes. I also try to get things down ever 2-3 hrs even if it's just a few spoonfuls. Good luck, I'm sure others will chime in with ideas as well.I'm struggling to get anything down! I am not hungry. Not hungry to the point where I gag if I try to eat. Surgery was March 18, 1 week ago. I'm down 17 lbs. i feel like the weight is going to fast. Biggest concern, I CAN NOT get much Protein in. The taste sets me off, I get nauseous and feel cramps and go take a nap. I can drink Water. Not much else. I can tolerate a few of the apple cinnamon baby puffs because they disintegrate before i swallow. I had a yum lunch today, my mom bought a rotisserie chicken from the store. She took a piece of breast meat and fat free miracle whip, puréed that for me and it was Delish! I had 1oz. My Vitamins are all liquid. I am getting in some but not all that I need. I'm trying really hard, even switched several Proteins, I cant get in much. I now tried the protein bullets from Walmart. They are nasty! Waiting on some medical grade protein to come. I paid 150.00. Hope it works! Anyone having struggles or can give tips on items that sat really well after eating? Please give me feedback! Thanks, Kim
