Rny here, but haven't found a thread for people of color there. Just had my final dr. Visit today and turned in all my paperwork. Hoping for a February surgery. By the way, I'm 49 and single in Columbus, Ohio

. Thx. I've been hearing great things about him, that's a relief...lolDr Price is a great surgeon and MT Carmel West is their Bariatric place to go. It will be one year next month and I just had hernia surgery Nov 19, that Dr Price also did. It was an incisional hernia from the bariatric surgery because mine ended up as an open RNY. I call myself a slow loser, but an happy with results. I have 25 lbs to reach my goal weight, and giving myself till May 2014. Good luck all

good luck to you, Alex75I just completed my psych appt. on Thursday and I'm scheduled to meet my surgeon on Jan. 13. All of my paperwork will be submitted and (hopefully) ready to go for February, but since I am a teacher, I am trying to schedule my surgery in March so I can just extend my Spring Break. I wish everyone luck and will be following all of your stories!

I'm sure I will experience the same when my time draws near. Hang in there and keep your eye on the prize. How did everyone do on the holiday? I'm single and my family is in another state, so I avoided the pitfalls.
I am going to be honest and tell you I've had "last supper syndrome" for a few weeks. Monday starts my high protein/low carb diet until January 20 when my liquid diet starts.

Good luck! Keep us postedMy surgery is scheduled for February 3rd. I had a band and it had to be removed due to terrible complications. I've gained half the weight back in the last year that it's been out. My doctor suggested RNY over the sleeve due to my previous complications. I'm nervous because they say if you've had a band you lose weight slower but I'm excited to have the bypass. I don't understand the logic behind losing slower because I've had a band in the past so I am hoping to prove the naysayers wrong!
