thanks loving!Y'all, these feeling, cravings, dreaming is all normal.. we had an addiction! It will take a long time to heal, if ever.. but your surgery will keep you in line. Its ok to want these things, but as time goes by most of us say" oh forget it" after trying to eat them OR seeing such good results or both! I'm one of those that dumped early on and said never again! I smell stuff, even have others describe what they ate.. all this has helped me fight the addiction. . You can and will do it too!

hahahahaLol last night my husband was eating cheese nips so I took one just to smell it and that made me happy, he thinks I'm nuts!!

. Yeah, never saw a single post warning about this bad breath..lolI know, it's so gross! Of all the research I did before surgery, no one ever warned me about this. It started for me when I was doing the pre-op liquid diet. I'm afraid we may be stuck with it through the high protein/weigh loss phase of our diet. I think when you get to maintenance you can go to a more normal ratio of Protein, carbs and fat, so it should go away. At least that's what I'm hoping. I'd love to hear from some veterans on this.

I need to look into this...sounds very useful.Ok this is a little off the wall, but going thru my Rachel Ray magazine I found a fork that would be great for all of us losers... It's called a HAPIfork. It vibrates and lights up when you are eating too fast! Tracks your total meal time, time in between meals and more! And they are only $100 each, yes each!! Technology.... Hmmmmm

wow, sorry to hear this

. That sounds good to me!I find when I eat liquidy foods I can get 4 oz in, but when I eat more solid foods (refried beans) I can only get in 2 1/2 to 3 oz. After that I start hiccuping and belching and I can almost feel the food going down very slowly. I think that's my que and if it isn't, it is now.

welcome to the group AprilI'm not sure where to start or how this works, so I'll jump in... I had my gastric bypass 5 days ago. Stayed in hospital for 3 full days. No complications or drain. I'm allergic to codeine so I'm doing this with tylenol. Still on full liquids. I'm being super careful and just doing blended Soups and watery Protein Shakes. Sometimes i can take 3 or 4 TBSP- usually just 2. I'm looking forward to getting these staples out. Walking is extremely painful but the therapeutic pillow helps some. I'm a little jealous of my family when they get "real" food, but there's no way I'm cheating on this- I waited way too long to get my surgery approved. Anyway, probably the most boring intro ever. I don't really have anything exciting to report.

thanks, I love my locs and would freak out if there were to thin or fall out.I'm not loc'd but my friend is. She didn't notice any Hair loss. I'm natural, wear a fro. I didn't have loss but my Hair growth stunted for a few months.

great advice your dad gave, we can handle it, always gonna be a struggle until are minds are retrained.I have the same problem. I am almost 3 weeks post op. I find myself looking at food online, dreaming of food and these cravings are REAL! I always call my dad or my friend , whom also had the gastric bypass. They help me by talking me through it. Also I was told to join a group like this and it would help me stay busy and focused off food! My dad told me this after my surgery "Food made us the way we are. There is a skinny you just waiting to come out! Show food that you are able to fight it's craving. NOW LET THAT SKINNY YOU COME OUT!" I often say this over and over in my mind. I have never been skinny but I am so looking forward to it! Good luck to you!

we were just talking about cravings in another thread, what I do is find something to take my mind off them. I had RYN 3-17 and I've had a few recently, my nut. Said they're normal.Hi, sorry about that I had a gastric bypass. I didn't give in because I didn't want to mess up my progress I just hate feeling that way. I am going to see the nutritionist on Tuesday so I will talk to her about my issues. Thank you for the input :-)

oh man, I did that without thinking..lol I have to remind myself to eat by using timers, not getting hungry.I only eat the amounts I'm allowed, like 3 or 4 ounces, and I'm done. I haven't really felt hungry yet, but when I eat, I'm satisfied. I don't feel stuffed or anything. I do notice that if I eat too fast, I get the hiccups. I was so thirsty this morning that I took a huge gulp of Water without even thinking about it and it hurt. I'll never do that again lol

yeah me too, guess I should of said the signs that you are satisfied.I stop eating before I feel full
