  4. My mom says that once I learned how to open the refrigator by myself the problems began.....so, yes, I always had a weight problem. In 3rd grade I weight 106 pounds.....highest as an adult was 353....lowest as an adult was 132....BUT, that is all behind me as I travel on my journey!!!!
  5. First fill was .5cc....very conservative, but working.
  6. O.K., I will not eat anything after 8:00 p.m. This has been a problem for me, so wish me luck.....and I send good luck to all the other future "chipsters" out there!
  7. Nykee, please read this post and know it is written with LOVE...... You researched this surgery, you prepared for this surgery and you had major surgery because you, and I paraphased, don't want to be 400 pounds and dying. The journey does not stop here, Nykee. Hell, you barely have your feet on the "train". SO, you got your ticket (the surgery), and you know your destination (weight loss), but there are tons of stops, transfers, detours and delayed departures on this journey AND that's where YOU have to take over, not the BAND. You have to decide if you "stop" and eat the crap or take a "detour" and eat some protien. Nykee, I know as a banded person that I can eat anything my band will tolerate. BUT, I know as a responsible eater that even if my band tolerates chocolate chip Cookies that I can't eat them without reprecussion. I know my body latchs onto sugar and craves it then, so I have to stay away from white sugar....period. It is "junk" to my body. Sit down and write down on paper what is "junk" to your body and, if you must, go cold turkey until your head hunger is under control. Nykee, I have learned to eat for survival NOT comfort, convenience, or to escape. I still enjoy my food....actually more than ever. Nykee, if you need to just pretend like you are starting your "journey" for the start. This weekend is pre-surgery: eat some of those things that you just love and is "junk". Monday morning pretend you just had surgery.....starting fresh, new and ready to start LIVING...... of course, all this advice is crap unless you see your doctor and deal with your fill. If you continue to play around with a fill that is too tight besides harming your body you might be harming your band to the point that you will loss it, Nykee. As a women who use to weight 350 pounds, I swear to you Nykee, you'll be a new person, a stonger person and love yourself more knowing life is beginning and not ending. Nykee, we love you, and are here to support you......
  8. Wow, we are all doing so great!!!! And, remember, if your weight loss is not as much as the next guy that's O.K. because in the long run we will all be "hot babes"!!!! Besides, we are all just beginning...we are barely out of the healing stages. So keep up the wonderful job....and enjoy life!!!
  9. True confessions: 1. Eat too fast 2. Bites too big 3. Eating snack before bed
  10. Michelle, You look absolutely fabulous...such a great body, beautiful face and, wow, those blue eyes...
  11. Welcome aboard, Quilter Mom.....I, too, am a quilter....I kind of live and breath quilting!!!
  12. Erin is jealousy, evil and trying to control you......I know you well enough from this board that you are not the type of person who can be easily controlled...so, don't let this bimbo get to you!
  13. You guys are all so wonderful....thanks for your support and love!!!
  14. Trust in God and prayer...I am saying a prayer for you and sending it your way! You will be just fine.....relax, be calm....you will be home and banded soon.
  15. Missy, I hear you, girlfriend....I feel that same exact way.....like a new person (or should I say like my old self prior to much weight gain!!). I am planning things I would have never had the energy for prior to the surgery....trips, doing more with my daughter, just going to the store without feeling like a played a game of football, etc. I called my sister today and she said that even my voice has changed...happier, perky!!! And as you mentioned, we are just starting the journey...imagine the rest the trip!!!!!!!! And I also believe someone must have "banded" my brain as I am making MUCH better choices and eating only to survivor NOT to comfort myself. Missy, keep up the great work and keep enjoying your new life!!
  16. I am so happy for you...you just made my day!!!!
  17. Hi August Bandsters... Since it is October I thought we could check-in and see how everyone is doing....weight loss, inches loss, all the NSV's, fills, etc...... I will get us started... First of all, I feel like a new person... that's the best thing since being banded. I have lost 38 pounds since my pre-op diet, 27.5 inches are GONE, my NSV's are so numerous I will just mention a few: taking walks with my daughter, swimming again, clothes to big, walking up the stairs without feeling like I am going to die, bending over without feeling like I am going to puke, getting out of a chair without making ugly, groaning noises.... My first fill was last Monday....it was a breeze...he put in .5cc and I have restriction....yeah!!! So how is everyone else doing???
  18. Jack...wow, the last time I was called slinky, well, oh no, maybe they said stinky!!!! j.s., Oh, you will recongize me....I have a long journey ahead of me!!! I will miss seeing you at the support meeting next week...say hi to everyone for me. By the way, I saw your before pic on the "other" forum....girl, you are doing great and lookin' good!!!
  19. I had a great week of weight loss, BUT I am even more thrilled with one of my NSV's this week. In the last 8 weeks I have lost 27.5 inches!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE MY BAND and I love you guys for all the wonderful support!!!
  20. Today's weight 312 Under 48 inches Waist 56 inches Hips 61 inches
  21. Roy Rogers.....I "danced" with him in the basement every day when I was a little girl!! I was crushed to hear he was married!!!
  22. Margo replied to TrishS's topic in The Lounge
O.K., I know this year has been a tough one for my Green Bay Packers, but they are still the 'bomb'......
  23. The appointment lasts so long because you'll probably have to take the MMPS test.....it's nothing.....they ask tons of true or false questions....some really strange questions and lots of regular questions. It's a piece of cake...don't let it worry you. And, unless, you have an eating disorder (besides overeating!!) you will find the experience quite pleasant. Just like "talking" with someone....no biggie! Good Luck, stay calm.....this appointment is a breeze.
  24. Sleepyjean, Let's put it this way....I was so consumed after I made my first appointment with my surgeon that I completely missed summer.....really, I have no idea where it went, really can't recall parts of it and the months just melded together.... But, now I kind of feel like I was never without my band.....surgery is just memory, I'm a "loser" and lovin' it. Hang in there.....before you know it you too will be a big "loser"!!!
  25. Nope, it was not on my clear liquid diet.....ask your doctor.....
